the F1 cars filtered me. I never finished the campaign. the pop-in obstacles and low camera perspective generally are so frustrating. accidents seem so fucking unfair. you'd have to memorize exactly where NPC traffic occurs to find the perfect low risk, high speed line. I guess that's what you did.

I was able to figure that out on my own but it just took too many attempts to complete each F1 race with zero accidents. because one accident = it's over. keep in mind I was 13 and played games for escapism / entertainment. I had no ambitions to "git gud", I just wanted to have fun moment to moment.

Probabbly because when anyone on the internet says things like 'a game like this with multiplayer would be amazing" never translates into success. Also, Sega IPs regardless how good they are simply doesn't attract in this absolute state of videogames and lastly, Sega; who always fucks it up. See TSR, which had IIRC the same devs than OutRun 2.

racing with cars ramming each other and destructible elements on the tracks. if that's boring you just need to fix it. the structure is exciting in theory. I never played a Motorstorm game so I can't say why it's boring and what needs to change, but the genre / niche has obvious appeal that shouldn't take a scientist to figure out.
