Analogue is the closest thing in the retro community to Apple. Overpriced hardware (even hiding more cost in their inflated shipping prices), overhyped to normies, and is generally shitty to everyone behind the scenes.
This is coming from someone who's actually interested in FPGA hardware emulation. If you find that stuff interesting though it makes more sense to look into a MiSTer since that's where all the devs are going, since Analogue didn't give a shit about devs until the Pocket.

I say go for it because you won't get a dedicated handheld that can do up to PS1 anywhere else for $50. Make sure to look into alternative OSes or rebuilds of Miyoo's frontend like OnionOS.

I watched a video that showcased the negatives and the form factor shows that the design for accepting carts in the back is heavily flawed in such a way that you're more likely to accidentally slide your carts out. I'll stick with RG351MP.

It isn't in the way you're thinking of, an FPGA device is intended to match the original hardware as closely as possible. Not a lot of people would call a MiSTer to be the same thing as VisualBoyAdvance, for example.
