The one with the frozen towel is hilarious.

i could never even figure out how to get started in this game

of course, i was playing a moonrunes pirated version

I enjoyed it a lot when I played it, but never got very far. there were some levels that seemed to have some really strict timings on getting past enemies.

I love Siren so much I 100% it
As much as I do love it holy shit these puzzles are fucking retarded
The one that always takes the cake for me is telling some little kid you are escorting to hide in a locker. you are in a big school filled with lockers but this one locker in this one room is important
You tell her to hide in it for no real reason then after three minutes a cutscene happens and the kid finds some candles
How the fuck you are meant to figure that out or know you are meant to do this I still don't know but it's impossible to beat the game without a guide.

Awful game, honestly. I don't know what happened with Toyama, the first Silent Hill is SO GOOOOD.
This one had stealth parts, awful art, awful gameplay.

You had to randomly decide to plug in the freezer even though the character you were playing as had no use for it in an earlier chapter too, right?

A fan site interviewed the game's director and they asked why the puzzles were so obtuse. He explained that he wanted people not to figure things on their own but to share their progress and findings.

He redeemed himself with gravity rush, so it's okay

the same guy is responsible for silent hill and gravity rush? heh

GR is one of those properties where sony just decided to not make money, because japs hate making money

I played the Vita demo and found that game to be gimmicky trash.
You guys only like it because it has a brown anime girl as the player character.

>You guys only like it because it has a brown anime girl as the player character.

Correct. I didn't say the game was good, I said the property was worth money.

Well, that's fair.

>Worth money
Nah. The death of Senran Kagura and the almost universal contempt Code Vein got prove that anime fanservice doesn't sell videogames anymore, Ryza's fat thighs being the sole exception.

it has very fun movement faggot

>Nah. The death of Senran Kagura and the almost universal contempt Code Vein got prove that anime fanservice doesn't sell videogames anymore

.............user i hate to tell you this but an anime fanservice game just had the biggest year in video games of all time

perhaps the problem is that shit like senran kagura is dumpster trash can non-game shit, not the fact that it's anime titties

code vein is also garbage

"Very fun movement" doesn't make it worth playing; plenty of games do one thing right but everything else being shit kills the interest people may have on the game.

>.............user i hate to tell you this but an anime fanservice game just had the biggest year in video games of all time
If you're talking about a gacha game, those belong to a different market from regular videogames.

>If you're talking about a gacha game, those belong to a different market from regular videogames.

Nope, stopped being true with genshin impact, which is a great actual game, not a png collector

genshin is game first gacha second, not gacha first nonexistent game like every other one

I managed to figure this one out.
In the next alt mission for that character you need candles to light lanterns, if you check the lanterns it says something like that.
So I remembered the room in the school with candles and hid the girl there.

The mission before that where you need to shoot the enemy down the well was what got me.
Also don’t know what people mean when they talk about how stupid the towel thing was. I just broke something and baited the policeman to get the id card.

>hunter guy level
>he has a gun
>fuck yeah
>keep getting sniped by invisible enemy
I died there like 10 times until I randomly decided to start blasting & one of my bullets hit the sniper.
Loved how every level felt like a race & that your life was always in danger.

Siren 2 is one of my favorite games of all time

I don't know what it is about them but for some reason the shibito and yamibito fucking terrify me
Way more than any other enemy type in any other game.

Attached: Otsu_Yamibito.jpg (240x320, 12.25K)

Genshin is a gacha first and gacha second, and gacha belongs to a completely different market to traditional videogames, a market where fanservice games moved.

>game has acute puzzles

SIREN is the manifestation of Toyama Keiichiro's genius. The atmosphere of Hanuda Village, the lore and beliefs unique to this village, the story, the background music, the enemies, the main character (especially the fact that they used real actors I recognized), the setting, everything
I wasn't surprised at how well everything was done, it's a Toyama game after all.
Also, the story is very detailed and draws you in. The more I learned about it, the more I was amazed at how perfectly it was made.

Everything about it is pure ludo. Sorry, if you don't appreciate this game, you're not a real gamer to me. The unique controls take some getting used to, but the puzzles are not too difficult. You can clear the puzzle before you know it by repeating it over and over again, or by going to another stage. There are many hints available, and the way they are given is very exquisite. The basic idea is to go to various places and get information by jacking the Shibito's visions. Then the archives are in chronological order from 1 to 100. This is another great feature of the game. Anyone can collect them all if they search carefully with the help of the archives. Therefore, you don't need a strategy book or a strategy site, or even better, don't look at them. You can complete the game by yourself until the end. If you do, you will be overwhelmed with a sense of accomplishment.

Fucking same bro
I wish more people got to play it I honestly think Siren 2 is scarier then any Silent Hill game.

Not him but from my personal experience, the game needs your undivided attention, patience and to be in a good shape physically and mentally. When I first played it, my chronic IBS was acting up so I couldn't bother and quit. I even called it the worst game ever. Years later, I started it up with 100% condition, both mentally and physically, and I completed it. It's not one of my top 5 games of all time. The secret of enjoying it is not to rush it at all.

>It's not one of my top 5 games of all time
I meant to say it's one of my top 5 games of all time

But how the fuck does he expect someone to do this shit? Who the fuck thought about ttrying this during their playthrough
what the fuck

>used real actors
Really? I though they looked too human but didn't know they were real actors
Some of the girls were cute as fuck

Code Vein's problem was more that it was a Dark Souls clone at a time when people were already getting tired of Dark Souls clones, and the addition of anime aesthetics just made people roll their eyes even more. Toss in the Companion mechanic and it just made it look like even more of a casual cash-in to appeal to the bottom barrel of retards.

Which is a shame, because I really liked the Blood Code and inheritance system of getting your stats and abilities, so a sequel to iron out the issues would be tits.

I kinda wanna try the game now after reading this but I know I'm gonna get filtered.

you have to like trial and error
if you can't handle that then the game is not for you

To give you taste of the atmosphere. I highly recommend the series like that other user.

My favorite thing about this game is the archives, they enhanced the immersion greatly but boy how pain it is to collect them all

Attached: 4baaefc6.jpg (2993x2392, 1.33M)

My favorite thing was the combination of documents on UFOs and esoteric Buddhist practices makes this one of the few horror games to cash in the the "What the fuck is even going on" style of fear.
It's a bit of a meme, but it's borderline Lovecraftian.

My most vivid Siren memory was hiding in a shed as the professor guy with his assistant while spider shibitos were swarming around outside and all I had was a shitty revolver and 6 bullets to fight them with.

I love how after thoroughly researching and collecting them you realize that there's a connection, the fear that everything is connected is tremendous. The fact that one of the main characters, Suda, went to the village after reading a post on the Internet, the incident 27 years ago, and the conclusion of the story are all connected to the beginning means it loops forever. Toyama is a genius for constructing such a deep story.

Attached: The Pillars of the Gaming Industry.png (1280x670, 1.09M)

It sure is, I remember the shiver that ran through my body when I saw the last scene after all the chaos

Toyama is really great, I wish more people would play Siren but most of them are SH1-only normalfags or GR-only weeb coomerfags

I remember many hopeless situations like this one

This” game “fucking sucks

The manual had hints for unlocking the extra objectives though some the hints were pretty unhelpful. That means you NEED a guide if you don't have the manual. Siren 2 was dumbed down but I didn't like because of the shitty, infinitely spawning trashbags replacing the cool bug people and every level was basically a set to be:
>you are in this maze sort of area
>you need to get to this point in the maze
>enemy with an uzi or sniper rifle is in the way
>find a way to knock it out
>use gun to power through to the exit
So, so many enemies had Uzis it was hilarious.

That’s horrifying

Severely underrated and ultimate filter. 10/10 kino lore enhanced by the online side stories as well.

Why in runes? It has an English release

should I emulate the first siren or play blood curse on ps4?

siren 1 has a ps4 version

it's too spooky so I can't play it

it stops being scary after 30 min

Play Forbidden Siren but if you even got stuck for a second look up a guide do not bash your head trying to figure out the puzzles 90% of the time it's not worth it

it's a great game but boy is it unforgiven
I also personally love Siren Blood Curse but a lot of other fans seem to hate it but I think it's a fun ride.

The PS4 version is the same as the PS2 version. The PS3 version is the remake called blood curse. The remake is easier to get into but it's simplified and westernized.

It has a 11/10 atmosphere which is why its so fondly remembered

thanks, i may aswell emulate it on pcsx2 then unless the ps4 version is somehow better

the ps4 version is the ps2 version emulated so it'd be the same thing
unless you are a trophy whore, since it has those

I'm pretty sure it's very intentionally Lovecraftian horror. Datatsushi is just an old god.

I tried, but I am too brainlet and impatient for this type of game. A shame, because the style was really cool.

Every single person on earth is too dumb for that game lol, it's meant to be played with a guide.

>The unique controls take some getting used to
I will never get used to the jank, same with Silent Hill. Shit sucks.

I love this nigga he's so fucking based.

I played Siren 2 on PS3 and it had top notch graphics and some decent sneaking system but as with the first one the main mechanic, seeing through pursuers's eyes did not click with me. It is the only game that gave me the feeling I was in the midst of a Junji Ito novel, which is amazing.

Japs know what kind of expression transfers terror best. Americans would just have it scowl at you. Because it's evil.
