Sorry for disappearing last time... again. A lot has been happening in my life, but I'm on a good position now, so I feel like we can do a good old playthrough from start to end.
You know the rules, and so do I. But if you don't, here's a quick rundown: >Superhuman Ironman all day, everyday; expect a lot of deaths >names for people/bases/crafts are first come, first serve >probably not gonna use psionics myself because that shit's pretty OP, but I'll let normal rules apply for ayys, so they're gonna be mindraping my guys all across the map without any means of stopping it
With that being said, let's get this party started!
Before we start, I wanna give a heads up about some customization.
I also turned on some quality of life options, like bigger battlescape view, 3D explosions so barns can actually be destroyed, instead of just blowing up a door whenever we chuck a HE into a wall, instant explosions when throwing grenades so we don't need to wait until the end of the turn for things to explode, and for the first time, I also enabled automatic psi evaluation, so we don't have to waste one month to know how weak-willed 10 random fuckers are. I decided to turn it on to accelerate the process of candidates for the Cydonia mission, since the last months are just stalling for psi evaluation anyway, so it's all about bypassing pointless waiting.
Damn, I thought Yea Forums didn't care about xcom at this hour of day but it seems it's xpiratez that doesn't bring anons into the thread.
Landon Turner
Ghost of Kyiv for one of the interceptors.
Mason Jenkins
Skyranger is Daily Dose, of course.
Oliver Adams
Galm 1 for interceptor
Xavier Bailey
Galeon for the other interceptor
Samuel Lewis
>Superhuman Ironman all day You playing it in a way that removes the difficulty bug?
Gavin Hill
does openxcom not do that on its own?
Julian Miller
To be fair, this thread took its time to take off, too. OpenXCom removes the bug. Everything will go horribly wrong at one point, trust me. Alrighto. Seems like we have our first sighting. Kudos to whoever thought about starting in Brazil. Let's down this fucker.
Always, ALWAYS shoot em down. Only pussies wait for them to land.
Parker Young
It's time for your daily dose, aliens.
Joseph Brooks
Give it to them, doc.
Carson Cooper
Not to mention letting them land is gonna cost me points for the month, and those are really needed at the start of the game if you don't want to get nations defecting to ayys early. It's a bunch of Floaters. I was expecting to see sectoids, but this is ok.
I don't think I've ever shot ayys down over a mountain in my entire life. wtf
Cooper Gutierrez
...Now I remember why I was worried about being here this early. Rookies can't aim for shit, and the starting guns are complete shit at dealing damage. A winning combination, indeed.
Don't worry, with courage and teamwork, you'll be able to kill one target at least.
Gavin Parker
the high altitude is probably detrimental
Jason Thomas
Let's just surround him with rookies to improve our chances, it will be fun trust me.
Gavin Sanders
Don't forget, floaters have chest armor which basically invalidates early game weapons on superhuman.
Caleb Lopez
Can someone explain why the original is seen as better than the newer ones?
Adrian Robinson
It's probably the first time I down one in one of these threads, too. I've seen this kind of map only like 2 or 3 times in my life. This wouldn't be as bad if I could've packed 14 rookies into the Daily Dose, but we're stuck with only 8, and the weapons do nothing, even when they hit. Clinton boy here managed to hit 2 times and this Floater is just doing fine.
Inventory, time-units, soldier stats, more units in battle, no "packs" and "agro" bullshit, better aliens, terror missions
John Cooper
I like it more because I'm a fucking boomer and I'm more familiar with this one. But that doesn't mean the new ones are bad. Nobody named it yet. Don't worry, we're gonna get 12 guys after this mission. Wew. Had to use the big guns to finally down the fucker. At least none of my nuggets died yet.
I started with only 5 smokes. I was waiting to get 20 more, but the mission started before reinforcements and weapons arrived. Already used 3 of them, but they saved my bacon 2 times, so it's a fair trade off. And another thing that saved me was a tree that took the plasma blow for sneed. RIP that valiant tree ;_;7
The Whole Cast of 2hu chars managed to find another ayy, and when they dispatched it, the turn ended. I forgot I also turned on the option to finish the combat automatically the moment the last ayy got neutralized.
I'M WINNING SON SOON™ Good to see you, my man. I have no idea how videogames are Yea Forums elated. Truly a mystery for the ages. Alright. Time to name 12 more meatshields.
Cutdown here. Dick Nipples will be the next name for the next batch. Look at that throwing accuracy. I'm sure letting Cato throw some footballs will go great :^)
>form two ranks of lasers >blow the everliving shit out of everything with unlimited ammo and one rookie to fish out bad guys good times.
Daniel Roberts
>Landing Site 2 >2 Fucking hell, they're already abducting HUEHUEs. It's really uncommon for me to put our starting base exactly where they start to attack.
I wonder who exactly was the guy that told us to put the base in Brazil...
