The game is a significant downgrade to DS3 in anything but overall production value
Even Ashes of War have zero synergy with the moveset while Dark Souls 3 weapon arts transitioned with no issue into the basic attacks

This only proves what I already thought for some time - Elden Ring is going to be a fantastic platform for mods. When all DLC's release and we are gonna see some content overhaul mods combined with this swordmanship mod it's gonna turn into an actual 11/10 game.

Why is From so lazy?

I think this mod is just the beginning, it will be improved as well, maybe we'll even have Sekiro's animations being implemented.
If that's gonna be combined with making enemies faster/more agressive to up the challenge a little bit we could have some kino in the making.
Additional DLC content could also provide us with new mechanics, but idk if FROM ever done that before.

All you could do during those long combo strings nearly every enemy does was tank the damage or run away and wait. FromSoft fucked up the combat in Elden Ring.

The game is so fucking bad and shallow. It really needed mechanics like this. Looking at enemy and boss design, and what the player can do is infuriating. Ashes of War just makes shit either broken or pointless. No skill expression, no intuitiveness, no flow. Nothing. Fuck the apologists who would whine as though this would make things too easy. Dark Souls combat is so fucking stale and dull. ROLL ROLL ROLL R1 is awful. Let the game evolve.

Dark Souls 3 was the game with the best "Souls" combat so far

This looks nice, but I did enjoy Elden Ring's vanilla combat already, what made me lose interest was all of the repeated boring content. I just want a Shadow of the Colossus inspired mod that removes all of the worthless shit. The loot that would be lost from the now deleted dungeons can be redistributed because this perfect mod will also remove crafting shit, taking all of the material crap away from the game.
Asylum Demon #84 won't be any more exciting just because now I can deflect him.

Everything in Sekiro is about staying close and holding your ground until you overwhelm the enemy. 14 hit combo? Stand your ground and deflect every hit. Thrust? Dodge INTO them. Sweep? Jump over it and kick them in the face.
Souls combat is fucking cancer because it's all about running away and waiting until they're done attacking or circling around the enemy so they keep missing which feels like you're just exploiting the shitty AI

Taking a bosses health bar to zero takes way, way longer than breaking their stance in Sekiro, therefore the player is heavily punished by running. All you get for stance breaking Elden Ring bosses is a crit that does a whopping two times as much damage as an r2

Dunno, I'm using the latest version and wielding a colossal sword and you can deflect most attacks if timed properly.

Of course but can you deflect faster combos? IIRC after deflecting once you get locked for some frames and can't deflect again so if the next attack comes too fast you get hit. Also something that bothers me is that if you get hit you can't try to deflect so you have to spam roll to get away.

Nah the actual difference is that with maybe exception of grabs, you have an active response to EVERYTHING an enemy can do in Sekiro and it can have a positive effect on combat situation.

Roll spam has been outdated since DS1. It makes sense, given how Bloodborne "fixed" Souls combat with the ever-evolving enemies.
