dunno, i know nothing about it
It's alright
Not a fan of the real-time battles. Also the game is very ugly.
The hero skill trees are pretty cool though imo.
There's no borderless fullscreen so I immediately refunded it. This isn't 1998, I want to do shit on my second monitor while waiting during the massive waits in between turns.
I played the tutorial, then i found out about the HoMM series after doing some research and never went back.
>Wahh wahh
Please zoomer, get out of the thread and go back to your daily Fortnite session.
wtf is this shill shit defending lack of basic ass features
Finally, a worthy sequel to HoMM.
>tons of factions with unique mechanics
>GREAT magic
>some crazy skills
Also, it's not an autobattler you ignorant cockmonglers! If you just let units fight it out without manual control then you'll get wrecked.
Bad points
>artstyle is ass
>no campaign
>no lore
>random map gen sometimes breaks the map
>no lore
Who cares?
>no campaign
Fuck, are they thinking about adding it?
I was thinking about getting it, but with no campaign what's the point?
>I was thinking about getting it, but with no campaign what's the point?
Skirmish gameplay. You generate random maps and fight it out.
I'd love a campaign or at least handmade maps but the mod scene is obsessed with making new factions instead.
Well is it atleast fun?
>pixel art
terrible
Yes. Units are varied, magic is varied, skills are varied. You can try to play it like an autobattler but odds are high you'll get wrecked even on Normal.
Once you figure out how things work and start experimenting, it's glorious how you can stomp even theimpossible.
It's worse than that actually: pixel art of varying quality, some sprites are simply more detailed than others so the artstyle clashes with itself.
its pretty good but i'm waiting for really multiplayer if that ever happens, probably won't go back to it until then.
>bodyguard skill nerfed
I hate it but I know it was necessary.
Got real bored after a few hours.
>conquer first area
>expand into next area
>see enemy army
>enemy army runs away at full speed
>does a complete 360 around the globe to your capital
>port to your capital
>enemy army runs away
it just becomes this retarded unceasing merrygoround, it's fucking boring
>scout moves 20 ft away from my capital
>all the AI armies drop what they're doing and begin their campaign to exterminate him
The AI having blatant global vision is pretty stupid
Based 2 and 3 are my favorite
I haven't had any such problems playing whack-a-mole. If anything, the AI is stupid enough to approach even when you are stronger.
V wasn't bad.
So, should I get it or skip it?
>artstyle is ass
>no campaign
>no lore
What's the fucking point then?
>shooting arrows at a skeleton
fools deserve their impending doom
>decent sound design
>newly blossoming modding scene
Custom scripting is in the works.
holy shit the entitled zoomer meme is real
same as this guy probably have 150 hours in homm3 now
skip it. its too simplistic and gets boring on the 3rd run.
Thoughts on this? store.steampowered.com
>muh strong womyxn
Hard pass right out the gate.
I want it to be good but I just don't trust indie devs to be able to pull off anything complex.
I really want to like it but I really can't get over that shitty art design.
An insult to homm desu.
it looks good and i might buy it even in early access
why do people who only want to play homm3 for eternity comment on other games that aren't homm3 as if they will ever play and approve of anything that isn't homm3?
But snu snu! Amazon!!
It looks alright but there's only 4 factions.
It's unreal how many HoMM bullshits are fixed in this game. Witch's hut for example.
It also has only one completely useless skill (Oligarchy), unlike HoMM.
Why is sorcery so bad? Wouldn't you want stronger spells?
I hated army limits and stopped playing it.
Direct damage spells outside of like Armageddon and Implosion aren't especially strong to begin with, and an extra +15% on top of that just isn't a particularly noteworthy boost.
Like, say you have spell power of 50. Chain Lightning will deal 2000 damage for the initial hit. With Sorcery, it's 2300 instead. Sure, it's not absolutely nothing, since that's like killing an extra Archangel, but it's pretty low returns for a large investment considering it doesn't do anything for the non-direct damage spells.
Given that you have limited skill slots AND can only cast so frequently, you'd rather just directly boost magic types, mana, and have better tactical/army power over a small nudge in nuking potential, because all those are better force multipliers.
Appreciate the explanation user. I love the game but I haven't deep dived into the mechanics yet.
Wow, this thread is still up
thanks for all the replies guys, I'll be wary and still think about the game
I installed it, but I have no idea what I'm doing, I just kept getting skeletons and telling them to march forward
I know nothing about this game but I'm not going to bother checking it out if people like this are the ones shilling it.
Hire better viral marketers, retard devs.
do you even play video games
Is there any way to kill heroes? They just respawn with bodyguards and I get grinded down with 10% casualties and magic
it looks awful enough that i don't even want to consider how good the rest might be
played enough of them to know when mediocre gameplay alone where you just battle against an AI that cheats its ass off isn't enough on its own
>massive waits in between turns
this can't be a real post lmao. It's less than 5 seconds. Tonight I will thank God for not being a zoomer
>leftists rip off HoMM
>can't make art better than 1998
>black people
>but bro i gotta watch my YouTube #Shorts between turns how else will I distract myself from my teeth jittering due to the 3 different types of ADHD medications I'm on?!?
>leftists
proof of hero's hour dev being a leftist?
That has nothing to do with your statement.
What said was
>artstyle is ass
>no campaign
>no lore
What's the fucking point then?
Now tell me, mr I play games, what is the point without any cope.
I see I'm the only one who still gets rock hard with this 16 bit style.
not him but the gameplay is pretty fun and it has hotseat co-op too
Eh it's pretty decent, definitly worth the $10 I paid for it. Fuck the developers for promising a campain and releasing a 1.0 without it though.
Song of conquest is the HOMM-like I'm excited for. I hope to god it's not shit.
>essential wisdom
>offence and armorer arent needed on mules, diplo isnt needed on mains
>ballistics is extremely situational, fire is much better
>sorcery is bad, but nowhere near as bad as learning and eagle eye which are doing literally nothing
just cause you like eating shit doesn't mean I do, boomer.
