lewd

I belive that object have intrinsic energy, not relative to anything.

It doesn't matter what you 'believe'.

>you can transfer energy from object to object without even touching it

uh huh

still want to know what that vid was made with

you cannot disprove me. Scientific method is a proof of god playing with our belief. Just like dinosaur bones

It's b. I've known for years.

I come here just for saying A every time. Because it hurts autistic childrens

Quality bait.

btards be like: UMMMMMM UMMMM UM UMMMM UMMMMMMMM UHHH UMMMMMMMMM??????????????????? RELATIVITY??? THATS A BIG WORD TAHT MEANS IM SMART UMMMMMMM *poops diaper*

A is only good for people unders socioeconomic factors for their brain

>If you don't know the answer to this, you need to learn some basic physics asap
No, because the very existence of portals inherently breaks the laws of physics

But steel's heavier than feathers.

Haven't actual physicists weighed in and said the answer is ambiguous because it literally breaks our current understanding of physics, and depends on what assumptions you make for the parts that break?

>A-theists are triggered by big words
Imagine my shock.

Anyone know how many threads have been made about this so far?
Absolutely has to be in the top 10 most common topics on this board

>A or B
>OP switches lables
poll is poorly worded and 4 months old

>aBdl lovers think that objects can suddenly start moving for no reason

>Poorly worded
>"lables"

Lol.

>A-theists think motion is intrinsic to objects

Let's have a civilized debate over this where one party explains their point to the other party one at a time. A, you start.

afags need to be put down
euthanasia.

Yes, it looks silly. We know this.

thousands, easily
I remember getting mad at this years and years ago
I just can't stop

I swear if I ever talk about this with someone IRL and they start talking about hoops I'm stabbing them on the spot

>portal flinging isn't changing momentum

Attached: PortalAnimTrain.gif (591x230, 649.64K)

It's no use. They'll say something about hula hoops, give you a blank stare when you explain to them how it's not, misunderstand every example you give, and then... another one comes in thinking he just invented the hula hoop

The portal can be thought of as a contractable, stretchy tube, like a slinky, with each portal being the opening of each end of the slinky.
If you set an object on a surface and hold the slinky over it and suddenly slam the end of the slinky down over the object, the object will not go flying because there is no momentum being applied to the object, the slinky is just moving over it. Now collapse the slinky. Does the object move? No, because the slinky itself is moving, which is the representation of the portals.

Now have the slinky stretched above said object, and have the surface push the object rapidly towards the entrance of the slinky. Collapse the slinky as soon as the object passes the threshold of the entrance to the slinky. The object will go flying despite the slinky collapsing because there is momentum being applied to said object.

The answer is A because the portal (entrance of the slinky) is decending onto the object. If the platform the object was on was pushing towards the entrance and the portal was still, the answer would be B.

its A. As youre pointing, is relative. The third one does not makes sense.

you need to die
you just need to die
your genes never should be passed on
you were a mistake

whoever made this vid should remake it in a continuous shot and zooming out instead of cutting twice. They always think it's a different scene each time.

Calm down. See the image you posted yourself. Its relative.

you don't know the meaning of the word

Remember kids, the portal moving down onto the cube isn't the same as the platform moving up into the portal, because the wedge is stationary with respect to the platform, and switching reference frames so the entrance is stationary will mean the exit is moving.

You just replaced hoop with slinky, despite there being no travel time between portals.

Their literally the same situation from different perspectives. 1 and two show the point of view moving with the train, 3 is the point of view of the guy next to the car, who is visible in 2, to show that it is the same situation

Attached: Flinging A vs B.png (448x406, 19.56K)

>Posts image of momentum being applied to object and portals stationary as an examples and has the audacity to claim I'm wrong

>A million fucking words to say "hula hoop"

It doesn't matter if there's travel time between the portals. That's irrelevant. All that means is it takes longer to get the same result if that were the case.

It's A

>No rebuttal, just autistic anger

that image is retarded, A should be the same trajectory as B because the object maintains the momentum it gets from falling but in a different direction. A vs B is all about if portals impart velocity to an object.
if you want to be a retard you could argue A would give the expected result here while B would disintegrate the object as the pieces that started moving past the portal suddenly gain more momentum than the pieces left behind

I have heard all there is to say on this subject and understand everyone's perspective on the topic. My conclusion is that this is no definitive answer and the only thing I am certain on is that the guy who makes the "hoops" argument is retarded.

>pic
its fucking insane how retards played the whole game about the most basic concept if "speedy thing goes in speedy thing goes out" and literally not comprehend the most basic principle it teaches you
I am fucking baffled, disgusted, upset, frustrated at how retarded people are and how upset I am instead of accepting the simple truth that most people are fucking animal tier brain dead
oli just can't deal with the fact that humanity is so fucked, were never going to space, were never gonna stop killing each other, were never abolish retarded shit
its fucking depressing

fucking kill yourself you literal waste of space
the particles that make up your brain would better serve their purpose being fertilizer
you
brain dead
monkeyfuck

>I don't like the answer and have no counter evidence so my only response is autistic anger and ad hominem

Appreciate the concession, buddy

bfags think stationary thing goes in speedy thing goes out so your point supports A chads if anything

my only solace in life that everything will be dust
all you retards will die and never another stupidity will be uttered or heard ever again
I pray for nuclear holocaust to speed this process up.

but it's not stationary

How to put this. A slinky has slinky in between the ends. A portal has nothing. You can't extend the "in-between" because there is none. You're just dropping hula hoops on things thinking it proves something about portals when you're entirely sidestepping the actual thing that makes this worth thinking about at all. The moving portal.

Here's a good starting guide since you failed the 6th grade:

ok but what happens when gif related

Attached: 1651936541907.gif (272x200, 91.05K)

>It doesn't matter if there's travel time between the portals. That's irrelevant.
It makes the slinkey comparison even more wrong than the already wrong hoops argument

Velocity and momentum by definition include direction, which even stationery portals can change. Why do A-holes think that speed is somehow more absolute than the direction it's going in?

Attached: velicity has direction.png (633x262, 21.96K)

>The moving portal.
>Not the object moving
How does it feel rebutting your own argument? The object is not moving, and will not move because there is no force being applied to it. It doesn't matter if the transer time is instant or not, the result remains the same. The hula hoop/slinky argument is just to show that each end is connected, nothing more.

B-Fags think if this guy tried to punch himself in the head he would instead go flying

>An objects speed
>Object has no speed
How hard is it for you people to understand that there is no force being applied to the cube?

The portal is moving and not moving. The portal is moving relative to itself. The cube is moving and not moving. The cube is moving relative to itself. It just depends on where you're standing.

I'd like to see a hula hoop do that.

yeah I love moving without moving
also hoolahoops :^)

prove that the box is at rest
prove that there is no force

your answer must be consistent through both sides of the portal, they are the same universe after all.

A works on the Macroscopic and microscopic scale.
B works only with single particles as the bonds between said particles would cause shit to rip apart

>Afag completely misunderstands the argument for B
Par for the course

but speedy thing doesn't go in. Stationary thing goes in

>Object goes out of the exit portal without going.
>portals can't create energy, despite portal flinging being based around changing potential energy
Seriously, look up "potential energy"

user
trust me but leave while you can
there is no argument you can ever make, they are basically religious fanatics flat earth style
you can bring them up in a plane or a spaceship they will still beat their chest and scream how earth is flat
there is no logic or intelligence
you are trying to talk physics with a dog
except dogs probably understand more cause they play fetch

>A works on the Macroscopic and microscopic scale.
It doesn't work at all, actually, but ESPECIALLY not when you start considering that objects are made up of atoms.
>B works only with single particles as the bonds between said particles would cause shit to rip apart
Quite the opposite. B is the only solution that preserves the relative position of all the particles to each other.

god its just like people that don't have an inner monologue, isn't it?..

>there's still people trying to pretend to be retarded who claim it's B
>they still don't understand that the portals may as well not be in the picture and the cube could litterally just be gently placed on a curved surface like the one on A
>they still don't understand that portals don't add energy and an object that enters a portal has no change to it's state and momentum, meaning the only possible solution is and will always be A
ISHYGDDT

yes, its just a hard wall
people can't comprehend these things are just limited
you can't do anything about it, their brains are just shit
