Tanking is the high test job and the majority of people playing XIV are low test liberal basedboys.

I'm a tank main and I just don't run roulettes period. There's no incentive whatsoever. Don't need to cap tomes to raid savage, and I can't think of anything they could change to get me to want to run them.

Take your meds. I agree that they are milking his death too much, but I think there is nothing wrong with feeling sad about him.
He may not have been a very complex character, but they wrote him well enough that he felt somewhat like a friend, especially after what happened in ARR.
I don't understand how people feel sad about moenbrieda or papalymo though, but it was pretty disappointing to see them killed off so early without any decent character development.
I think they should just kill off some other scion or important character at this point if they want the players to feel sad

this is expressly the reason moenbryda gets so much exposition when she's been dead for ten years, she was a waste of a character death

I guess that's a point where we disagree. Minfilia is so forgetable that I even forgot to mention her and papalymo got about as much voice lines as I have fingers on my hand.
They should have done much more with them when they were alive, I only started somewhat caring about them when we got some side quests after their deaths

Then they should have tried harder to make me feel sad for her and fleshed out her background and character more.
It feels like only reason for her existence was to write white auracite into the story and to give Urianger some character development.

I've been playing this for seven years now, and the best part of this entire game for me is how autisticially precise all of the worldbuilding is. Every little item is carefully thought out to adhere to in-world consistency, every single zone has its own history and people directly affected by it. We learn about them, about things that might seem mundane but that matter to them, and then we help solve the problem and learn more about the problem. Because helping the little people is what being a hero is all about, and the game never lets you forget that. Every story has a neat little arc, someone learns something and the world ends up feeling more complete for it. And its not just the story and flavor text, even the music is thought out to perfectly fit each region, down to using instruments that make sense in the context of its people's, or simply something that matches a great boss fight. Everyone in the dev team is so commited to making Aetherys feel so personal to every player, and its why Endwalker works, because i really felt like saving this world, not just because its the right thing to do, but because i've become to attached to it and its peoples.

Its like Venat herself says - "Lands that stretched on forever. Skies one could drown in. The heartbeat of nature, silent yet strong. Amidst it all a people. Beacons of light and life. Laughter that warmed my heart like naught else before. They are my purpose, my love."

Well, you could look up the best item level brackets for your chances to get it.

Maybe. Obviously the higher the item level of your retainers, the wider variety of items you can possibly get from quick ventures. For example in level 80 gear my retainers can get stuff all the way from sub-50 trash up to EW MSQ dungeon gear.

my 3 gatherers are wearing HQ AR-Caean stuff as I havent bothered to make them Pactmakers yet but they bring me upto moonward gear

technically yes, but it's not a guarentee. I got my last Onion gear with a EW AF Geared Retainer.
