>In less than a year, Pokemon Sun and Moon will be closer to Pokemon Black and white than it is to the then present
>In 2 years, Ratchet and Clank 1 will be closer to 1980 than it is to now
>Kid icarus uprising is 10 years old; there are kids who are playing fortnite that were swimming in their father's ballsacks when we playing it for the first time
ITT: post fun facts that showcases the unstopable march of time
Code Vein is over 2 and a half years old
GTA vice city is further away from release than the game was from the time it was set in
Team Fortress 2 released closer to the release of the original Doom than today
Fire Emblem: Awakening turned 10 years old at the end of April of this year, meaning kids who played it as their first FE game are now old enough to post here without getting banned.
user...it's already May
what did you mean by this
I don't know if you're pulling my leg because of the theme of this thread, but you said it turns 10 years old at the end of April of this year, but it's already been April of this year six days ago
>If Tommy Vercetti was arrested for the Hrawood incident by the time of GTA IV he would be released next year
>GTA San Andreas' story happened 30 years ago.
ridge racer 7(the last good entry in the series) has been over half as old as the first ridge racer for 3 years now
why did namco have to fuck up?
ESL-kun, "turned" is past-tense, as in it already happened.
If I had typed "FE:A -will turn- 10 years old at the end of April of this year", then your spoiler would be valid.
Are you ESL
>I'm getting so old I had a brain aneurysm and skipped the first part of the sentence entirely
he said turned you dumb fuck
>feeling old about Gen 5, Ratchet and Clank, and Kid Icarus on the fucking 3DS
lmao
>You're out of touch
>I'm out of time
>But I'm out of my head when you're not around
Shadow the Hedgehog is older today than Mario was when Sonic Adventure 2 came out.
>ESL
?
>World of Warcraft turns 18 years old in a few months
ESPEAKEY DA ENGLISH??
This one doesn't really rattle me because vanilla wow looks and feels to me way longer ago than 2004
Funny because 1986 or whatever felt like a different world compared to 2002. Now 2002 doesn't feel like a different world at all. Would be nearly impossible to parody 2002 to a large audience these day. Cultural stagnation
what the fuck are you talking about, 2002 is completely different from 2022
it was only in the last few years I stopped thinking of 1980 as only being 20 years away when its actually 40
I dunno man, if you teleported back to 2002 I think it would be a lot different than you remember
A lot of culture people attribute to the 90s was at it's peak in the early 00s
When you get a certain age, you stop caring desu
>still hyped about an unannounced dragons dogma 2 for almost a decade
we're closer to 2040 than 2000
>megaman x is nearly 30 years old
>mario 64 is 26 years old
More time has passed between now and the release of super Mario Brothers than Harry Truman being president and the release of super Mario brothers
And that age is thirty. Late 20's I was depressed and anxious about times changing and me remaining pretty much the same but few months into my 30's and it doesn't feel like a thing to worry over anymore.
2002 is American Pie-tier comedy being considered edgy and everyone joking about War on Terror. Those are incredibly tame by today's standards.
Doesn't bother me too much since Awakening made me realize I had already grown out of the series
You can't really lampoon much about the early 2000s. The don't have as strong a cultural identity and the 50, 60s, 70s, 80s, or 90s.
Lots think of 90s culture think about stuff that started in the late 90s like 97 or 98...typically when boy bands became big. Early and mid 90s was way different.
Battlefield 3 released closer to the year 2000 that to the current year.
Unstoppable.
With two 'p's. Single syllable CVC pattern words require a doubled final consonant when a suffix is appended to the end.
Please pay closer attention in class before you attempt to make threads in your second language.
Culture is way more tame now than it has ever been. The American pie style humor hasn't changed, it's just been expanded on, not reinvented like humor and culture had been in the decades prior
Later this year, Half-Life 2 will be old enough to have sex and go to war.
Sometimes it's less about "wow those things from my childhood are old" and more "holy shit those things I still think of as new are this old now?"
>born in 1992
>forever consider the 80s as 20 years go
>the 70s as 30 years ago
>the 60s as 40 years ago
MAKE IT STOP
>alyx is 18
BW2 is turning 10 years old this year. I remember the CORY YOU A BUSTA hack like it was yesterday.
1989 here and its the same
as an 18 year old zoom-zoom I fucking wish I was alive in the 90s. or the early 2000s.
or any era really.
except for this one. zoomers have no culture. we have no cool shit. everyone's a bitchass roody poo and things like malls are all absolutely fucking dead
Am a 21 year old zoomer, shut up
How does an 18 year old know the term roody poo?
what's up with all the faggots using ESL as an insult? as if native sepakers are flawless. You're on the same level as grammar nazis
In 3 years Mario 1 will be closer to the nuking of japan than today.
>tekken 3 was 24 years ago
why would i, you faggot?
not all of us zoomers are retarded.
Ikaruga came out more than 21 years ago.
So it's older than the average nu-Yea Forums poster?
>as if native sepakers are flawless.
We are. Now do the needful and die to death
2016, but Eternal is not bad64 is massively overrated though
You can see major differences in single decades. Like you said, when I think early 90s I think of grunge, SNES/Genesis, adults wearing colorful pastel jackets/running suits and teens wearing denim overalls
Late 90s was boybands and girls with pigtails wearing shit like this
Botw was 5 years ago. I sti remember Yea Forums being crazy about it.
>as if native sepakers are flawless.
I personally am. Because I'm not retarded and know how to proofread.
>You're on the same level as grammar nazis
The fact that you throw this out like an insult means you are actually retarded.
more time has passed from the release of CS:GO and right now that the time between CS:S and CS:GO
>sepakers
The irony is palpable.
I'm almost 25. It doesn't take a millennial to know older tech felt like the sky's the limit. The 90s were just getting into 16-bit by the start and ended up with fucking Soul Calibur by 99. Genres bloomed, you didn't have devs make games with predatory mechanics or political shitflinging, and they weren't dumbed down to appease FIFACOD dudebros. They were just fucking video games. Unless the future's tech is so advanced folks can simulate the past we can only hope the 2020s will somehow have a culture that abandons imitating hoodrat shit, minimalism, and the "internet is serious business" mindset. We may be fucked but I really hope the next generation isn't.
He read it on ED?
Most of this stuff is greatly overstated. The 90's and 2000's, even most of the 2010's are defined by most people falling into the normal equilibrium that hasn't changed very much until recently. There isn't really an "oh my god I can't believe I dressed like that" aspect to it that you hear actual boomers talk about unless you were hardcore into something, you could pull any of these kids out of a time machine today and the only thing that might stand out about them is their pants being a bit baggy. It might be finally changing now that kids are broccoli heads with doodles all over their skin that can't be bothered with anything more than pajamas but the 90's basically lasted for 30 years at least relative to how things changed in previous decades.
