Steam Deck General

>Updates have addressed drift, battery life, fan noise, half-rate shading, hz options, bugs, desktop mode and using the on screen keyboard wherever
>It's only been 2 months
Kino. Can't wait to see what kind of updates we get as Q3 approaches.

>Doesn't think the warranty matters on a fucking computer
>Thinks carrying a 5 pound laptop with a strap is more comfortable than just holding something
Certified retard.

Valve screwed over the Artifact fanbase by cancelling the Artifact 2.0 beta without even allowing users to invite friends like they said they would in January and does not deserve your financial support for these gross consumer-unfriendly practices.

BASED!

>hz options
Is that actually in yet or still in beta?
Like clockwork.

I just meant updates in general. Not sure if it's in yet, but the battery life improvement for low power interests me a lot more. They need to add a low power warning though.

I just paid for my steam deck May 5th. When do I get it shipped to me????

Attached: file.png (539x924, 561.71K)

I feel sorry for everyone getting a steamdeck.
The hardware was good when it was announced, but like everyone with atleast 10 braincells predicted its allready obsolete and absolut low end.
You can get a laptop for just 50$ more that has
>A better screen
>Better hardware
>9 times the ssd space
And from now on it will only get worse since rembrandt is close to be on the public market, which makes them even cheaper and untill q2 or q3s get their steamdeck modern games wont run on the hardware anymore.

Attached: laptop.jpg (1098x512, 101.28K)

>The hardware was good when it was announced
Why is it not good now? Even UMPCs with Zen 3 barely squeeze out 5% more performance for 3x the price. As far as UMPCs go it's still extremely relevant, and competes well with laptops.
>$50 more
You forgot to mention it's used lol. You already got btfo in the other thread by another user.
Have fun replacing the entire display yourself if the display cable gives out.
>9 times the ssd space

A 512gb 2230 ssd costs $50.
>And from now on it will only get worse since rembrandt is close to be on the public market, which makes them even cheaper
Rembrandt will bring up the price of competing umpcs dumbass lol.

The concept seems neat, but it looks so huge and heavy. It doesn't look portable at all. Why does it have touch pads; what games utilizes those?

>Why does it have touch pads; what games utilizes those?
RTS. Aiming in shooters.

>You allready got btfo in another thread
I didnt. Talking gibberish is not btfoing someone.
I only see cope arguments like
>Used
So, who cares? its in excelent condition and outclasses the steamkek by far.
You also didnt bting any arguments about how laptops will become even cheaper in the next months.
Making 0 valid arguments is not how to btfo someone even when your denial cope tells you otherwise

>I didnt. Talking gibberish is not btfoing someone. I only see cope arguments
You had 3 different anons laughing at your retarded strap "solution" to gaming with a laptop. You're a fucking joke Chang lmfao.
>So, who cares? its in excelent condition and outclasses the steamkek by far.
"Excellent condition" with a fucking stock image of the laptop means absolutely nothing especially when the warranty is so short. Laptop warranties are typically 3 years, so he likely used it for 2 1/2 years and deep cleaned it. Again, if it has or develops any dead pixels, clouding, or the display just stops working (literally happened to a gaming laptop of mine) you're just fucked. That shit is common especially after years of use.
>You also didnt bting any arguments about how laptops will become even cheaper in the next months.
How will laptops become cheaper with 4000 series hiking prices and 3000 series models being phased out? Laptops have stayed in the $600-800 range with 1050 igpu performance for half a decade.
>Making 0 valid arguments is not how to btfo someone even when your denial cope tells you otherwise
You're typing like someone rushing to post a response lmfao. Definitive proof you're seething.

>want to play something on the couch
>set it on my lap
>after 5 mins of gaming it starts melting my skin
laptop gaming is for thirdworlders

You can opt into the beta updates really easy. I just did it.

"Kino" only describes movies you fucking newfag

>"Kino" only describes movies you fucking newfag
Lurk more.

The M.2 that needs replaced puts you in the same ballpark, and tell me when that laptop can do raytracing like the steamdeck bro
And also good luck playing that on a bench or something.

Attached: cope.png (915x794, 217.25K)

Sorry dawg, does not fit in my hands.

>A bunch of made shit
>This is how you type
>Shills did this
>Again 0 arguments
Just shows that you are the one that got btfo. Kinda embrassing ngl

>And also good luck playing that on a bench or something.
This means the laptard lost. I would rather invest on a cheap PC and get 3x the performance than laptop

It does in mine, and its even more comfortable than the steamkek.
The design puts less strain on your arms which makes it more comfortable.
You have your hands free to grab a beer.
Unlike the steamkek it can actually run pc games since you have a keyboard available
If you go to bed you can put it on a chair to watch it sideways on a big screen with a gamepad in your had, which is 100 times more comfortable than steamkek

The steamdeck is not only more expensive than a laptop, but also worse in performance
Its also less comfortable.

>Still 0 argument
>Just posts a reddit tier image
Epicly btfoed

Attached: laptop board.jpg (600x600, 20.43K)

Can any steam deck bros try this and tell me if it works on steam os 3 and if its easy
github.com/grassmunk/Chicago95

Well yeah i already have an amazing PC, I want a switch but not a switch so it can do something other than play games for children, and for its form factor it would be amazing to have at all time.
And I already have like 3 different laptops and 4 desktops at my house alone, lmao.
Read above clearly trhe steam deck wasnt made for you now go get your retard board and you gamer laptop and shove them up you loose smelly asshole, and trust me i would know thats its smell, maybe you should get more money so you can afford the laptop and the steamdeck, or maybe you should just reach to my side grab my chrome and put it up to your dome, cock the pistol and pull the trigger, rest in piss pussy ass nigger

that's not a handheld

I paid on monday and got it today
will mostly depend on fedex desu

Steampiss is not a handheld either, its a shitty low end laptop.
A handheld is designed to be small, pocketable and comfortable in the long run.
>But i can hold it in my hand
I can also hold my pc in my hand, does that make it a handheld? I dont think so.

This is a much better, cheaper, and more comfortable solution with an even better performance for the bucks

>The design puts less strain on your arms which makes it more comfortable.
Yeah because the strain of the 5 pound laptop is put on your neck you retard.
>>You have your hands free to grab a beer.
>Chang thinks you need two hands to grab a beer
Lmfao
>Unlike the steamkek it can actually run pc games since you have a keyboard available
If by "pc games" you mean "some shit game port from the 90s." Name one pc game worth a damn that requires a keyboard, you can't.
I disagree but that's up to preference, so I'll talk about other issues with that. Not only is it 100x less convenient than just holding a singular device in bed with pillows propped against you, but laying on your side to play games worsens your focus and performance in them.
>The steamdeck is not only more expensive than a laptop, but also worse in performance
GR8 B8 M8

>Steampiss is not a handheld either
Yes it is.

>A handheld is designed to be small, pocketable
That's a portable. A handheld is something designed to be played in your hands. I want a handheld, not a laptop. The laptop with straps around your neck is just about one of the all time gayest things I have ever seen. Gayer than even fanny packs.

I can hold it in my hand and no, I don't want to wear retard straps

>better,
See >cheaper
Even the used laptop you posted is more expensive than the Steam Deck. Even a Steam Deck with an additional 512gb ssd purchased would only be as expensive as your used laptop.
>and more comfortable
Having a 5 pound device hung around your neck is more comfortable than holding a 1.5 pound device known for its great ergonomics and weight distribution? Just stop it Chang lol. Keep in mind your laptop's weight will completely be distributed to the back of your neck.

I’m fucking dying at the harness

*See

>I want a Nintendo DS
>"Bro just get a laptop!!!"
>I want a PSVITA
>"Bro just get a laptop!!!"
>I want a Switch
>"Bro just get a laptop!!!"
>I want a steamdeck
>"Bro just get a laptop!!!"
Fucking laptop niggers, I swear.

Attached: 1651895601676.jpg (625x495, 80.57K)

>Yeah because the strain of the 5 pound laptop is put on your neck you retard.
You're clearly mad and hard seething. you cant even see properly anymore. The picture clearly shows that the strain is put onto the back, which a non fat manlet shouldnt have issues with.
Steamdeck requires your arms to be fixed, which will tire them out even if you dont hold anything just from the position.

>>Chang thinks you need two hands to grab a beer
You are so mad, you cant even read and think straight anymore
>If by pc games you mean
I mean pc games like afps, mmos, rts which you cant play handheld on the steamdeck.
>Name one pc game worth a damn that requires a keyboard
Are you even 18 years old? Every good pc original game is designed for a keyboard.

To summarize. Steamdeck is so shit that even the shills cant give any arguments and cant help themselve but seethe full of rage when faced with the better and cheaper solution

As a former laptop nigger, I apologize. I remember telling a guy irl "Why would I get a Switch though? My laptop can play games at better frames!!" And then i actually got one and realized the experience isn't comparable since you need a desk. Laptops are third world trash.

>Its more expensive!
50$ more for 9 times the space, miles better gpu, better screen.
Kinda cringe considering that steamkeks main argument is "bang for the buck"

I cannot believe you are unironically arguing that the deck will put more of a strain on your body than that absolute retard rig weighted down with a full size laptop lmfao

LMAO that image, there's no fucking way this shit is genuine, nobody is this retarded enough to suggest such an abomination as an alternative to a handheld. You're just trying to make the subhuman cretins seething about the Deck look bad, right?

>a non fat manlet shouldnt have issues with.
So why would you want one for yourself then?
>Steamdeck requires your arms to be fixed, which will tire them out even if you dont hold anything just from the position.
Steam Deck can be held with one hand, which you'll do every time you take a sip of beer. Anybody who is a "non fat manlet" shouldn't have issues with that.
>I mean pc games like afps, mmos, rts which you cant play handheld on the steamdeck.
Nigger you aren't even trying anymore. The hook isn't even on the line.
>Are you even 18 years old? Every good pc original game is designed for a keyboard.
Every good pc game has the option to use a gamepad lmfao.

Because its true. You can carry weights with your back for days without getting tired. (ask a your mum about that.)
While on the steamdeck your arms will get tired from the position alone.

I like the Deck, shortages aside I'll wait for the refresh with RDNA3.

It's kinda clunky, I'm sure the next iteration will be monstrously better.

They also get really fucking hot.

sure bro

Attached: 1612408754616.jpg (242x406, 94.01K)

>Every good pc game has the option to use a gamepad lmfao.
You have to be 18 to post

>A handheld is designed to be small, pocketable
according to whom?

According to someone who actually plays games on handhelds.
If size, portability and pocketable doesnt matter i can just tape a screen on my ps4 and call it a handheld

According to me, somebody else who actually plays handhelds, you are wrong.

what are deckchads playing lately? I've been playing Jet Set Radio (I think I'm on the last level) and some Red Faction Guerilla.

Attached: 170094-1.gif (394x339, 2.26M)

Portability does matter when it comes to the definition of a handheld. But there is a distinction between handheld and portable. A laptop is not more portable than a handheld, not even a handheld as big as the deck, not even if you use a bunch of car seat straps to tie it to your chest first.

>0 arguments
Then tell me, what important things make a handheld a handheld according to you, and why wouldnt a ps4 taped with a screen not be a handheld aswell then?

>putting devices in your pocket
I bet you also put your phone in your pocket. Go ahead and look up what that does to your testicles. Or did you chop those off already?

I preordered a few hours after reservations began on day 1 and still haven't gotten my fucking email.

Well user, I got my order in 3 min after they opened up (was spamming as hard as I could) and I only just got mine 3 weeks ago.

>50$ more for 9 times the space
The same amount of space you can get with a $50 512gb 2230 ssd.
>miles better gpu
And an even worse cpu, which was the biggest bottlenecking factor of the Steam Deck. In reality you'll see closer to the same performance due to the leap in resolution and worse cpu performance.
>better screen
Doubt the color accuracy is as good on that laptop. Low end ips laptops have shit tier screens.

Attached: 1387396561413.jpg (205x251, 9.12K)

As do you "Epicly btfoed"

>linux system gets meaningful updates that enhance the experience
windows and microsoft's incompetence really taught an entire generation that system updates are supposed to be either bad or worthless, huh

Attached: 1651896664113.png (446x559, 259.58K)

Literally retarded.

>No new ip
>So mindbroken he has to respond multiple times to the same post
Steamkek is barely weeks old, yet people allready have buyers remorse.
Sad if you ask me, ngl

Cpus are known to be the least important things for gaming, gpus on the other hand the most important.
The screen has by far higher resolutions, propably looks better colorwise aswell

It finally arrived today
what game I should play on my steam deck?

Attached: muh deck.jpg (4032x3024, 3.09M)

To conclude.
Steamdeck seems so terrible, even the shills cant defend it with actual arguments.
Imagine being a steamkek and spending 1300€ on my scalped q1 order.

You cant make this shit up

bro this is so fucking gay

I'm the only user that actually owns this thing in threads. I like it, been working through amid evil during my lunches and death stranding at home. I'm blown away how this can run ds at high graphics 60 fps. I have smt v running but the stuttering is a little off putting in yuzu compared to native switch. Does playing it more really help that much with shader compiling

Attached: IMG_20220506_211424.jpg (3114x3008, 3.51M)

I'm excited for mine, it'll arrive around my birthday :3

>Cpus are known to be the least important things for gaming gpus on the other hand the most important.
And the Steam Deck's gpu is more than enough for the res it targets. This doesn't discredit anything I said about the performance. Having a worse cpu will worsen performance. Ram isn't important for gaming provided you have enough, but slower ram will give you worse performance.
>The screen has by far higher resolutions,
1080p is barely bigger than 800p. 800p literally a stopgap between hd and full hd.

I KNEEL. I'LL STOP TELLING LIES FROM NOW ON

Attached: 1641540262511.webm (1280x720, 2.79M)

Has it been confirmed that people can get bumped up the list, i'm scheduled for Q3 release but fuck I want it for summer if possible

>And the Steam Deck's gpu is more than enough for the res it targets
Maybee if you want to play modern games like deathloop (which is btw not optimized for apus), bright memory infinite etc. on renderscaling 75%.
Cpu is the most unimportant thing. Even my ryzen 2400g storage pc cpu doesnt bottleneck at anything.

>digital only

Attached: 1651695345474.webm (400x720, 2.07M)

not cancelling user nice try

how long can you carry that thing before the sheer weight crushes you?

>Even my ryzen 2400g storage pc cpu doesnt bottleneck at anything.
If you have an external gpu connected to that thing it definitely will.
>Maybee if you want to play modern games like deathloop (which is btw not optimized for apus), bright memory infinite etc. on renderscaling 75%.
That laptop has an igpu dumbass.

Because the Steamdeck isn't even kind of heavy. I can barely do 10 pull-ups and I could hold that thing up for hours if I wanted, it's so light it feels cheap.

Attached: 1649930980166.png (1583x921, 368.94K)

>color accuracy
Just wear gaming glasses fagget

>bro laptops are totally better just wear a silly strap and wear it just so you can use the laptop
might as well fucking buy a pc at that point faggot

It's not heavy and it has good weight distribution/grips. I don't know why anons always make up shit in these threads.

Is Xenoblade Chronicles X a bad emulation on this?

>Geforce gtx1650
>Igpu
Lets not go full cisesh user.
You seem to be the first steamkeker thats not a fully mentally blasted zoomer, dont ruin that just for the sake of it.
