I want Leon to lose before the final. Doesn't matter to who, just to anyone.
Nobody is actually hype for his battles, so he deserves to be cut down to make room for something actually exciting.

He's already fought Diantha and Iris' aces in the past and won, I hope the fight is against someone he's never faced before, so either Steven, Cynthia or Lance. Lance would be thematically fitting seeing as they're both from Kanto and would have been Ash's first Champion opponent had the writers decided to at least have him go up to a League finale first season, and he's the one that ranked second best in the previous world championship.

Iris HAVE to fight Lance since her goal is becoming the dragon master.

First round is Ash vs. Iris, Ash wins
Alain defeats Lance to raise the stakes
Ash defeats Alain
Ash loses to Leon

Lance vs Iris should happen(Dragon Master vs the up and coming dragon master), and ideally have Iris come out on top. Once that is done, Iris can safely be fed to the Leon hypetrain while still completing her "arc".
Steven and Lance have no real reason to face off.

Pokemon was the most dominate topic with multiple threads on page 1 at any given time.

I don't see how they could not have Leon be the final thing since despite how different it has been, this IS the ending for the Sword and Shield anime technically.
While Cynthia should certainly beat Leon, I don't see Leon not being Ash's final challenge to liken him to his "undefeated" status in the games.

Leon's whole thing is finally losing after being the reigning champ for so long and figuring out what he wants to do with his life now that he's no longer the invincible Leon. It makes no sense for all the build up for him in the anime only to have him retain his title, Ash is allowed to win championships and still lose, he lost to Bea in their first battle. champions can lose
