explain the slayer lore to me. where does the slayer symbol come from? why does the doomslayer seem to try to rub it off from the helmet in the 2016 intro? he also pushes the slayer dragon away in TAG2. does he not like being the slayer? if so, why?
why does hayden say 'according to the corrax tablet' in the beginning of taras nabad, even though he was the one who put the slayer in the god machine in taras nabad? was he not there when the slayer first showed up? did nobody tell him about this stuff and he had to read a tablet about it? did they retcon hayden being the seraphim?
what did the god machine do? the slayer seems to have been the slayer even before he was put into the machine, so why did he need the god machine? to make him more strongerer? he was apparently already more powerful than the night sentinels etc even before the god machine, because he saved taras nabad from the demons originally. why even have the god machine in the story? they could have just said the slayer is a strong guy just because.
why does the slayer get KO'd when he kills the dark lord? is it specifically because of the god machine? on that note, why is the dark lord another slayer? is it supposed to be meta, like, the dark lord who "created you" is just like you, another doomguy? as in, another doomguy made the game for you to play? you must defeat me, john romero?
if the slayer is the OG doomguy, is the earth in Eternal his earth, or an alternate universe earth? every character in the game seems to talk about it like it's his earth, but are they just retarded? is 'the wretch' in doom 2016 different from 'the betrayer'? does the wretch refer to hayden? what the fuck did the betrayer even do? he just shows up in 2 places in the story and does nothing.
why did they write all the lore only to retcon it multiple times?

Obviously. 2016 had a very simple premise. Doom guy being ambiguously tied to past games wasn't a mystery, it was obviously meant to be left ambiguous because his backstory and character don't matter that much.
