I tried 27" 1440p and its sucks. You need to move your eyes around to see everything while 24" 1080p you can see everything. I did not even notice anything better at 1440p like really.
1080p or 1440p gaming?
27"/1440p 144hz is pure sex.
4k 43" 120hz cause I'm not poor
Too big.
>You need to move your eyes around
Then put the screen further away you absolute fucking moron.
Also you probably need glasses
you are too close to your screen dude
not worth it
Get a load of this fag
isnt this a draw distance issue
How is 80cm close lmaooo
if you have to zoom in 4x to see a difference
when its costing 4x performance
the trade off just isnt worth
id prefer a clean 1080 render on a 1080 monitor with actual stuff in it
then all of the upscaling we are on the path to for higher resolutions to sell more expensive tvs
>you need to move your eyes
That is how looking at things works
27" 1080 here, works well for me since my eyesight isn't perfect anymore. Grafics don't really matter anyway if the performance is good.
27inch is too small for my old man eyes. I like to lean back and play instead of be zoned in right next to the monitor.
32 inch.
its more immersive having to actually look around
65cm and its big. How far should i sit ????
1440p at 24 inches is the best but no one makes good ones cuz everyone bought into the bigger panel meme.
> video is 1350x1272
Can't really do it justice even when zoomed in
you have the right idea
1440p is a marginal improvement and 4k is still heavy as fuck
i felt for it and all it really did was make my gpu obsolete faster
It entirely depend on the size of your monitor though
How do I properly optimize my settings on my PC that doesn't match the rcommended requirements for this game? If I can at least replicate whatever it looks like on xbox one x, that all I care about.
I'm sticking with 24", 1200p , 60hz, like I've did for 13 years now.
Great for gaming, fitting all 16:9 and even 4:3 resolutions much better than all the other aspect ratios.
Perfect for visual design stuff, showing more vertical space. I also like how the video player's controls sit on black bars below and above the 16:9 videos instead of covering parts of the footage.
Anything after 1080 is a legit waste of time and money for devs
> You need to move your eyes around to see everything
put the screen further away or get a 24" 1440p screen you absolute pants-on-head retard
1080p 60fps
its cost efficient and it works fine.
Do you think they have to develop the game to be 1080p 1440p and 4k?
All modern engines already run the games at these resolutions they don't have to waste any development time on this.
don't most retro games upscale better at 1440p, since 480p divides into it evenly?
This is a great autism post, because this is how 1080 fags look. Using old tech because you are pretending it’s just as good is some real sour grapes shit. Get a job, get a new monitor, quit pretending your antiquated shit from 12 years ago is still perfect
There are no 24" 1440p monitors
Draw distance is when things pop in.
i own one...
>new games comes out
>1440p cant run more than 60 fps
>1080p 144fps
LoL
get something better than a 1060
This is the ultimate cope and seethe of the "lol you'll own NOTHING! Consoom!!" -fags.
They got no standards, no end-goals, no personal preferences. They lack purpose and compassion, and thus they try to fill the void by riding the bandwagon's coat tails, investing in the overpriced and -hyped shit, just to pretend to be part of some imaginary elite.
>NO U DUM BOOMER! GET A JOB AND BUY THE FUCKING 340hz ASUS ROG ULTRA WIDE REEEEE!!
More cope. I got a job, two in fact. Also got a car, a house, and wife. Yet I will by no means be wasting money on some meme gayman' monitors before this babe magically dies on me - because lets be real, nobody makes pre-calibrated 16:10 screens no more.
I got forced to use 42 inch TV as a monitor recently and it's super comfy as I have enough of space not to sit 40 cm in front of it.
It's 1080p, I honestly don't feel a need of more, but it's slightly older TV so it has more input lag. Recent TVs have input lag on par with gaming monitors, even the entry level ones, but they're all 4K so I guess that's where I upgrade.
Define "retro game". PS1 and N64 ran at 240p.
With emulators, however, you are not really stuck with the restrictions of the old systems.
Are you retarded? I know another user already replied to you, but I'm going to as well. You don't create the entire game for each resolution. Don't speak about shit you know nothing about.
>This is what consoomerism and no satisfaction does to a motherfucker
Don’t worry user you’ll grow out of it
1080p scales like crap at 1440p.
>Posting my webm
Nice!
I run in 4K 60hz because it's helpful for spotting enemies at longer ranges.
I now use a 65'' 4k TV as my regular desktop and for games, but it's like 6 feet away from me. It actually looks and feels great to use so no complaints. Actually my only real complaint is that it's stuck at 60hz, but that's what all my monitors have been prior to this too. One day I'll check out higher res.
>Recent TVs have input lag on par with gaming monitors, even the entry level ones, but they're all 4K
read the fine print and stop falling for marketing bullshit
>24", 1200p , 60hz
I have one of these and I'd love to use 16:10 as my main but it looks like shit compared to my 27" 4K monitor no matter how much I try to justify using it. But if you're happy with it then I won't try to argue.
see rtings tests
just make sure your input is set to PC mode
It takes considerable time and effort to put high effort textures HD mapping onto things you utter retard. Every single texture getting cut by 70% of course saves time effort and money
Lol
>*has never used anything better than 1080p60hz*
>"lol 4k and 144hz are all memes lmao 1080p60 is all you need"
I got 1080p 144hz monitor and I returned it after a day
Just waiting for 27 inch 1440p 144hz true HDR monitor
>true HDR monitor
>27
good luck lmao
it's physically problematic
I have this, I could easily go back to 1080p though. I can't go back to 60fps or anything sub 80fps though.
>image is 1280x720
I will kick you in the gonads
1440p? What is this 2018? 4k 120hz is where it's at.
IMO you need at least 1440p these days since many modern games straight up rely on TAA, sometimes not even allowing you to disable it and 1080p is hopelessly blurry with TAA, while 1440p already fares a lot better and 4K being even better of course but not really a realistic option due to insane perf loss.
Also the increased desktop space you get with >1080p resolutions is really nice.
what games realistically do you run at 4k120fps?
Jokes on you I have bad eye sight so it all looks like 480p to me.
Strange, I never had any problems moving my eyes around
first post best post
Most games? I own a 3090. Might not always be 120fps but usually over 60.
How so? There are 1440p ultrawides that do it, is it really an issue to cut the panel?
GOOD games, and not any of the shitty trash you watch benchmarks of? lol
Are you guys actually poor?
You can get an OLED today and get:
>perfect blacks, better than even CRTs
>insane contrast and HDR coverage (better colors, and more vivid)
>response times so absurdly low that OLED TVs have to *fake in* blur or you can see the frames in 24FPS video content (this is not a joke)
>120Hz *with* GSync / Freesync Premium Pro / VRR
>3840x2160 pixels
There's literally no reason not to get one unless you're working minimum wage. If you care about gaming and/or movies and TV at all you should get one. I've been daily driving my C9 for a few years now and it's legitimately the best tech purchase I've ever made. I use mine with Big Picture mode. I've also jailbroken it so I can watch YouTube on it with no ads and SponsorBlock.
