People with CRT nostalgia are fucking weird. It's like retards who want fucking film grain or dumbasses who want physical books. I'd never want to go back to it.
i'm trans btw if that matters
here's your 3D bro
2D animation*
Any day over pixelshit.
Left, it doesn't make my eyes strain
literally devoid of soul
fuck off tranny, no trannies in pixelgodness
>pixels
>pixels but blurry
>all that desaturation
good picture otherwise, but fuck that
I will take a shitty scanline filter on my modern TV before dealing with an actual CRT any day
God damn you are stupid; I'm not even crt purist but you should stick to marvel mobies.
>OH MY OLD ASS TV HAD SOUL. SOUL I SAY.
Fuck off. Find me a game that looks better on CRT and I'll give you a 1000 that don't.
dragon’s fury was my favorite pinball game
enjoy
soul/soulless
the real kino artstyle is 2D sprites on a 3D world
CRTs look good
CRT filters on a modern display look like shit.
works for me
I feel like there's a correlation between pixelshit and trannies. It's all based on nostalgia, based on how better everything was in the past, when they didn't chop their dicks off. Everything was better then.
I feel like anyone who can't into beautiful sprite work likely has autism that prevents their imagination from working at proper capacity to immerse them in the world.
Why do trannies love CRT so much?
You tell me
>Well?
why are you looking at something that would have been 2 inches tall blown up to a 1374x770 image?
why not represent the image as seen to accurate size?
This is repulsive.
i don't know, but why do YOU prefer the one on the left?
I'm a tranny and i hate CRTs
Why these images are so giant all the time? Because if you make them smaller, left is a clear win.
Fuck pixelshit, voxels 4life
It feels like a need to wear a glasses, because everything is fucking blurry.
and if i close my eyes both of them are the same
this user has a point
CRT genuinely make content that is built for it look a bit better.
Pic related is mfw I see someone emulating any gameboy(gb,gbc, gba) game with a crt filter. What the fuck is wrong with those idiots? Do they think the Gameboy had a cathode ray tube in it hiding somewhere?
nah bro we all crt gamed on 90" screens the phosphors were each an inch tall
You are taking a small part of the image and enlarge it to show off pixels in a way you won't see them while playing.
Because people aren't playing video games on tiny CRT screens anymore. That's half the problem with pixel games to begin with.
You are cutting your dick off but that won't make you a woman
it's not just pixel games. take a look at vagrant story. now walk away from your monitor couple of steps and look at from afar.
Why would I cut off my glorious 19cm uncut cock?
even with the lowered resolution image the one with crt has depth while the one with just the pixels is just flat colours
holy zoomzoom
what the fuck do you think gameboys used back then, child? the gameboy came out in 1989.
you have to be 18 years old to post on this website.
Then post 1920x1080 examples of entire game, not just part of it.
You are delusional npc with faulty imagination.
HOW TO BTFO CRTFAGS
Literally all of these comparison shots are viewed on an LCD panel. In other words, it is perfectly possible for an LCD panel to achieve the same look.
THAT IS ALL
No
>1920x1080
That's the CRTboy mod you fucking idiot. The original screen is LCD.
maybe that's because one is an image of pixels and one is an image approximating a screen
the image of pixels doesnt approximate an lcd...if youre zoomed in enough to see subpixels on a crt, you are zoomed in enough to see subpixels on an lcd
its a false and inaccurate comparison
Speaking as a furry/scalie, that looks great
You know what would look great too? A bullet hole in your faggot chinlet face.
I remember being so fucking hype when my dad finally let me upgrade from an 11" shitbox with VHF/UHF dials to a 13" with composite ports, shit was amazing.
if you've ever used a GBA you'd know it does have its own unique screen properties
Why are there so few (if any) shaders that try a 1:1 replication of crt screens?
At a 4k resolution i have enough pixels to give each color mask 3 vertical pixels of space.
With some color bleed and unlit pixels loosing their brightness over the duration of a few frames it should look better than
>filters
>devils crush on my Yea Forums
neat
user....
Damn, I knew CRT adds a lot of depth to the picture, but this is absolutely insane! Even better than those Castlevania comparisons!
>pixels but blurry
also commonly known as anti-aliasing
is this supposed to be some epic gotcha? I can see the difference on my monitor plain as day
in fact you can go on RetroArch yourself and flick the shader on and off and see for yourself the difference, you don't have to go right up to the monitor to see it either
I'll take left, because right is a blurry shit
imagine wanting to look at blurred shit like this for more than 3 seconds
All pixel art looks better on a CRT, period
It doesn't matter that the target device was a handheld, unless it was a 3D polygonal game
>if you've ever used a GBA you'd know it does have its own unique screen properties
Its a tft lcd panel user. Its not that special. There were no scanlines. Adding a crt filter or playing them on a crt screen is you being a retard who doesn't actually care about how the games were supposed to look and you just wanting them to "feel" retro. The art was designed to be displayed on an lcd screen, the devs and artists absolutely did not care what it looked like on a crt through the various methods of having it displayed on a TV screen.
>anti-aliasing
who uses aa nowadays
wrong and cope
Nothing about this image is blurry at all you little zoomer fag
where do these anti pixel art people come from?
what are they coping with, exactly?
Very nigger chimp-like of you
>say you're a zoomer who's never held a GBA in hand without saying you're a zoomer who's never held a GBA in hand
Both look OK. Most stupid argument of the past few years.
Looks horrible and nothing like how GBA games actually looked.
>all pixel art looks better on a crt
No it really doesn't. This is you being an idiot. Art looks the best when it is displayed by the intended method of the artist. The mona lisa will never look better on a screen. A 256x256 forum avatar image blown up to be displayed on a billboard looks like shit. The gameboy color, advance and original all used LCD screens.
Next you will tell me that forcing color into pokemon red is a good thing and the GBC is the intended way to play it.
>The art was designed to be displayed on an lcd screen
I'm tired of zoomers trying to co-opt this argument, the GBA looked like shit because Nintendo was extra jewish and devs didn't account for the 99 cents screen at all.
t. owns nothing of value
The point is that CRT's smoothed out dithering patterns so you have an illusion of smooth transitions of colors and shading. It's entirely a technical limitation that devs had to work around.
Kind of the same how people now jerk off to PC-98 art on how it's dithered when back then on a real screen that pattern was smoothed out.
People are just retarded when it comes down to older technology. Similar concept is for chip tune and FM music. Back then, if you listened to Amiga or Yamaha's sound chip on something like Genesis, it would sound warm and muffled. Quite large amount of artists used it to create additional depth to their tracks when alternating between different instruments... and then you have the modern hipster asshats that think every single FM and other chips were sounding so dry and sharp that it would pierce your ear drums.
Oh well, grandpa is going back to sleep. Cheers.
What the fuck were PC-88/98 monitors anyway, composite?
Ah yes, I guess years of angling my original gameboy just right so I could actually see the image never happened because a retro gamefag who probably jumped on the nostalgia train in 2012 without ever actually playing the originals at the time they released says so.
Next you will tell me that gba are supposed to have a backlight.
I will always prefer the left since I make pixel art myself, and I want to see exactly which pixels are place where.
The Mario GBA games were the SNES games ported.
Is it somehow more wrong to use a filter on the GBA ports?
All three of those systems could be played on a real CRT using either the Super Game Boy (GB only) or Game Boy Player.
But notaku says it's good
Based.
Kill yourself, dogfucker.
couldnt you just recreate it with more pixels
This entire thread is about the intended way to play games, not the ways you could play them. Playing those games on a crt is exactly the same as playing a nes game on a laptop. Its fine to play. But its not the intended way they are supposed to look.
There are exceptions, of course. But if you are playing one of those ports with a different aspect ratio then was originally intended over the original then you have a whole other set of problems.
>pixel art wasn't meant to be viewed on CRT-
>seething troon samefagging his posts because furry chads exist
lmao
right looks better
Modern pixel art isn't.
zoomers simply do not get it.
Is that why indieshit has no contrast at all, do these idiots really believe that?
