I dunno if you can get everything but you can at least max out each skill branch to get their job barding and then use a Reagan Pepper to reset it for another branch, if nothing else

What ended up getting me the most were the Loporrits and the circumstances surrounding them. Cute little stumbling rabbits working for 12,000 uninterrupted years in the name of their companion race and they don't even know what a Man looks like, getting a barren rock ready for habitation in the event the apocalypse hits and they need to get away from the planet, maybe permanently live there. They're designed from the ground up to love you and be your co-pilot, and even though they're manufactured to love you it's completely genuine. They love you so much that they really just take it on the chin when the information they've been working on for 12,000 years was completely uprooted by you showing up and they had to scrap EVERYTHING, rebuild EVERYTHING, rearrange EVERYTHING.

They do it 'cuz they love you and somehow it doesn't feel forced even though they're literally designed to love you.

Not really. There were a few sad moments up to around the start of Stormblood, but after that nothing really got to me. They raise the stakes too high and make you feel so invincible that things become weightless. It doesn't help that the story structure in every expansion is so similar and predictable.

JP mandated it for the English localization because for some reason they thought the stupid gaijin would be confused by the lack of clarity, except numbers are about as clear as a-ra-ga so the change was pointless. The Sharlayan book in Great Gubal Library about changing the suffix system for "clarity" gives a better reason for the long-term which was that they didn't want to invent a new suffix after -ja (Firaja, etc) but even then they still ended up doing it with High Fire and High Blizzard.

I love the cutscene where Alisae and Alphinaud are trapped and talking while Julius tries to blackmail the Eorzeans, while the music is perfectly synced up on auto. They really did put care into everything.
