Considering digital sales, it’s likely that Nintendo Switch Sports sold over 300,000 copies in Japan at the very least.

I think we will see Nintendo start to hint toward new hardware. It will be very vague (because it obviously isn't coming this year) but they'll give some little hint that yeah it's being worked on. Could be something as simple as saying "The switch is still successful and has a long road ahead of it but we are working on future hardware products too"
But I think we're far along enough that they will want to start getting people thinking about new hardware.
