boomerang_state = BOOMERANG_STATE.SPINNING

if boomerang.return_to_player( ):
boomerang_state == BOOMERANG_STATE.STILL

else: return

woww so difficult to implement

Every webm I've ever seen of this game is someone doing some gimmicky shit and fighting the same low level Goblin enemies. Is this the whole game?

That makes no sense

yep
not even 1% of the playerbase thinks like this when fighting enemies. it's just a dozen autists still obsessed with this overrated game, thinking it's the second coming of christ

>baby first garry's mod

I'm convinced people's enjoyment of this game is directly correlated to how much time they spent using the boomerangs. Hopefully the sequel has more giant boomerangs.

No, thanks for your question.

I'm not joking, there are literally 5 different enemy types in this game.

Why have you let this game reduce you to this?

boomerangs stop spinning if they hit the ground, go again

that's not true

Botw is the best open world game, change my mind

More like 15, but it's definitely way too few.

There's more, they just reuse the same few (Bokoblins, Moblins, and Lizalfos) too many times
I kinda wish there were more different types of enemies for each major area

If your feature is largely ignored or overlooked by most of the playerbase, it's not game design, it's an easeter egg.
t. game dev and game design pro

Enemy variety in this game doesn't really bother me, but shrine variety is inexcusable to me.
Different puzzles? So what, they're still fucking boring yet there's over a hundred of them. If there was like 20 shrines with very unique design and engaging the game would be so much better.

20 shrines over that massive map would be terrible. You can't expect to be able to change one thing about a game without destroying the rest.

That being said, shrines are very hit or miss and visually repetitive, I agree.

Its always so hilarious when normies act like they know about programming

It does

Tell me where I'm wrong, kiddo. You don't want to know how many games I have created with Lua in Roblox and GMS.

Lmfao shut up you faggot codemonkey
You're no better than a pajeet

bloody basterd

Soul

The only good thing about it was the physics engine. Everything else about the game was just generic and it only got praised because it's Zelda.

>lua on roblox
Thanks for proving my point for me

Do the needful and kys thank you sir

that's basically a third of mount and blade and that game is loved here

yeah it is embarrassing

no wonder tendipedos like this game
they only know how to spam a button

The problem with these le epic webms is the game never actually has a reason to do any of this. The enemy AI is braindead. You have no reason to do anything more than slap it around with whatever strong weapon you have until it's dead. Especially since I can always just pause and fully heal whenever I'm in trouble.

Compare it to Elden Ring where I would change around my weapons and talismans just to deal with specific bosses or enemies, and not being able to heal at a pause screen means I need every leg up I can get. BotW2 needs more enemy variety that asks the player to do more with their runes.

Thats completely retarded, you are saying we dont need any depth in games, since players are mostly bad.
Does Blizzard makes the best games, since they are all solved in developer-intended ways only?
I think you getmy point.

this is a bug

why did they copy this for Elden Ring.

>Compare it to Elden Ring
A game where you stack low %HP buffs and kill everything with RoB/Moonveil?

Yeah, it's cause the drones make a thread bragging about how good it is every few minutes.
You guys are just as bad as the naysayers

Even with your overexaggerated meme post that's more effort than it takes to kill entire bosses in BotW, besides Maz of course because he's the only actual boss in the game.

I have never implied that the quality of a game is dictated by the obviousness of its mechanics.
I am merely stating that "game design" implies taking into account the average player's experience, and 99% of players won't be able to experience all the little physic gimmicks that these videos show.

>overexaggerated meme
Facts aren't a meme. You're an idiot if you think open-world trash like ER takes effort to play. RoB/Moonveil shit on every weapon in the game that isn't Dual wield Blood Loss Curved Swords, low %HP buffs on anything can kill bosses like Malenia in less than 20 seconds.

nice bait

Bro you can literally just pause and heal in BotW. Even then you probably won't even need to since the vast majority of bosses and enemies are braindead.

You're listing off specific weapons and buffs, because those are actually relevant in Elden Ring unlike BotW. Even Lynels are easily dealt with by spamming bomb arrows.

All BotW has going for it is puzzles. That's it.

>Bro you can literally just pause and heal in BotW
Yes, BOTW is also shit like ER. What's your point.

>games I have created with Lua in Roblox

You can't pause and heal in ER though

No shit.

god i fucking hated weapon durability in this game

You can feed any animal in the game.

Nonsense. That's not a hard rule for game design by any means. Including little things that most people won't figure out or find generally adds to a game in my opinion. And in this case it's not just this one thing with a boomerang, it's a consequence of a system used throughout the game. There's tons of cool little things you can do in BotW, which is one reason it's so fun.

Just like most things nintendo does, it's a gimmick that gets old quickly.
Now let me be a faggot and make a dark souls comparison, they created a gameplay formula that has been fun (or at the very least enjoyable) for 7 games now.
BotW's gimmicks got boring after less than an hour.

>endless possibilities is gimmicky
You don't know what words mean.

This is unironically based as fuck

But they're not endless at all. They're predictable and far less efficient than swinging your weapon.
You'll have fun playing with the physics for a few camps of enemies then decide it's not worth the effort.

>you have fun at first then it gets boring
Thats every open world game ever made

This isn't about the open world, it's about the gimmicks possible in botw demonstrated by OP's webm.

>Looks better than your favorite game.
kek

Different user, but speaking as bonified Software Engineer with CS and Math degrees from a well-regarded university, Roblox Lua is in fact "real programming". The only ones who would say otherwise are non-programmer that can't see past the kiddie game stigma. It's a complete grammar and supports all the necessary components: variable assignments, data structures, data transformation, conditional statements, branching.

actually the best bait I've seen in months, impressive
