the pristine beauty of old minecraft, new just doesn't hold up
The pristine beauty of old minecraft, new just doesn't hold up
Minecraft has never been a particularly beautiful game.
Old minecraft is more scary than beautiful
imagine being on a lone server in a tower afking and you come back 5 mins later to someone staring at you and you can barely notice them through the fog
>create world, modded
>break down a tree
>make crafting table, wooden pickaxe, then stone tools
>find a village
>get shit op for me at this time
>attempt to make a house
>uninstall the modpack
>rinse and repeat
I just don't fucking get it bros. When I was younger I could start a whole world with kino adventures, but now, I just can't.
branch out, user. burning out on one style of game will do this to you. once you spend time on a different genre of vidya and return to minecraft it will all come back.
Wish i had sum decent GPU to play it cuz for sum reason even the 1.14.4 version struggles to run on my core 2 duo pc, even with 4gb of ram and optifine only.
bruh herobrine deadass scared me when i was lil frfr
the only thing i miss from old minecraft was the world generation, you could get pretty cool mountains and floating islands, now its painfully boring
Is there a mod for old map generation?
I miss playing on old ass minecraft with millenaire mod, new Minecraft is soo soulless...
I can understand complaining about Mojang putting basically 0 effort in the updates, what I don't understand is how you can say the game used to be better.
It's the same gamel, with more stuff.
>muh hunger meter
There's nothing wrong with the hunger meter, you are just looking for stuff to complain about, to explain why you don't enjoy the game anymore.
Maybe you burned out, maybe you just grew up, but I am 100% sure the updates have nothing to do with it.
I am convinced the issue is that we know too much about the game and it's inner workings to find it exciting anymore.
As a kid I everything I saw was new and amazing and I didn't have a clue what kind of stuff was even possible in video games, so I thought absolutely anythinh crazy and cool could happen. Now that I know the exact "optimal" way of playing the game there's just nothing that will excite me anymore.
It's sad because I can't find the same kind of excitement even for new games that I'm not already familiar with because I still know what video games can and can not do.
don't know what youre on about, we're here to talk about old minecraft aesthetics.
plenty of them on the net, just gotta find one that fits your fancy. people really like alpha but infdev was wild at one point.
youtube.com
imo it's got to do with how primitive the world looks compared to now. there's a certain elegance in minimality. miss me worlds where tall grass wasn't shat all over it
>old minecraft aesthetics
Which looked nice for the time, but weren't really better than today's.
Yes, the game is slightly darker, at least now it doesn't hurt your eyes playing.
Actually looks kinda alright.
Did they nerf fire at some point? It definitely doesn't spread that quickly anymore.
Beta 1.6 is when fire spread got cucked.
The reason you don't understand it is because you don't understand the actual reason why people prefer old versions. The game is most definitely not the same, with more stuff.
play games from genres youve never played before
This is exactly why I don't find the original Animal crossing exciting to play anymore. I know how it works on a fucking molecular level and it's no longer fun.
Try playing with friends.
The more Minecraft focused on "adventure" rather than being a sandbox the worse it became.
this.
what was the last good version number again?
the one just before they added the exp system
wrong, rather than being a survival game is what you meant
Minecraft doesn’t have the draw anymore because most of us just finished everything they ever wanted to do in Minecraft and everything afterwards are just shallow imitations of our nostalgia + way too much pointless content
Wild how I stopped enjoyed minecraft exactly when Beta 1.8 came out. Definitely just a coincidence!
It's not "slightly darker", the entire atmosphere is different. Minecraft used to have a bright, comfy, and happy atmosphere, which is gone now.
Wurm is better.
The adventure thing would be fine if it was actually good. But they half ass the game in 20 different directions
>Minecraft used to have a bright, comfy, and happy atmosphere, which is gone now.
Oh yeah, now minecraft has a dark gritty and realistic atmosphere...
This. But I'm not going to lie I actually really like modern Minecraft. I find the world generation to be pretty great and I get some stunning worlds. Shits buggy as fuck right now though.
W-what?
downloading this now
sure man
soulless
Only a child would say that.
Because the beauty of the beta mincraft server must not perish from the earth
Based disabled chad.
Uncultured swine.
minecraft is ugly as shit and always has been
i can't even get to the nether
getting owned in minecraft feels like there's always something more lurking behind the mist
Is old Minecraft nostalgia the biggest form of autism on this website?
haven't played minecraft in ages, but i was under the assumption that optifine had been dethroned
Yes, like even the 2b2t chads desperately crave Caves and Cliffs. Pining over minecraft beta is just dumb.
What can you tell me about the functionality of that elaborate build? How is it designed to be both pleasing and effective?
You can't. There is no reason to build anything in modern Minecraft.
I used to love playing on vanilla survival minecraft servers and they are all gone now pretty much.
I enjoy the capabilities of modern modded Minecraft
if he didn't your imagination sucks frankly
I was in my 20s at the time, zoomie.
>Play on a small modded server
>Everyone lives underground or in a giant slab of cobble just progressing through tech trees
>When they burn through the tech trees they ask the host for more mods to grind through.
>At no point do they build anything at all.
Adults are subhuman
Both soul
That's what it is. Fuck.
I try building something before realizing I prefer the resource extraction aspect of the game. I become a wanderer, strip-mining entire mesas of gold and iron just to forge them into blocks. Why? I have all the gold cubes, but no reason to use it.
Minecraft is one of those games that are only really fun when you don't know what to do. Probably the reason anons push mods so much, it's the closest you can get to reliving that feeling of cluelessness.
Unless you're dicking around with friends on a server, minecraft becomes really boring really fast once you know how everything works.
>Me and a small group of online friends decide to play online together after a while
>We live scattered across the globe so who's on at what given time is random
>we all decide to take it easy
>After the 1st day the tryhard speedrunner has beat the ender dragon, found the stronghold for us, and collected Elytras for everyone
>Tryhard redstone autist had made every possible farm, making looking for resources and items a moot point
>everyone has branched out and build their own cities
>One spawn autist has taken over the whole spawn and nobody else is allowed to build there
>Mining autist has mined so many diamonds that he'd giving them away for free to everyone
>Enderman xp farm makes even xp hunting pointless
>play for 2 hours, build a house, get fully enchanted netherite gear handed to you, log off and never play again
Every fucking time
>I have all the gold cubes, but no reason to use it.
>Mining autist has mined so many diamonds that he'd giving them away for free to everyone
This is me but instead of diamonds it's cobblestone.
SOUL
This is why I never play Minecraft minus anytime my nephews wanna jump on.
I do like watching Minecraft content though. Hermitcraft is fucking wholesome and always great to have on in the background.
stop playing with autists user
nice blog
>friends decide to host a small modded server for us to fuck around in
>get some prebuilt modpack with Create on it, i don't remember the name
>they live in fucking holes in the wall or autism camps while i take my time slowly building a proper place for us
>A few days in and the ones who didn't quit because they can't harness the two braincells required to understand Create (even though it pretty much feeds it to you on a silver platter) become peons that fetch shit for the ones who can make sense of the mod.
>a couple of weeks in and they've tryharded through the tech advancements in disgusting outdoor piles of machinery and spaghetti wiring/piping
>sit in my neat but mostly empty marble building and ask myself why do i even bother
It's all so tiresome.
I hate to suggest this but try an rp server.
>friend group starts a minecraft server
>actually a little fun for a few days
>they always say "we'll stay on this for a while" basically
>that never happens
>one friend always pays for these servers
>he's just gonna stop eventually because of these ADHD fucks
I don't even play Minecraft that much anymore, or at least like it how I used too, but damn.
