There's no "it" per se. A piles meta is similar to formats like boomer yugioh, where you're all basically running the same deck, and your archetype is basically tech choice. From here on out until Fusion Destiny and Adventure get crippled, we'll all be playing more or less the same deck.
Piles formats suck man, at least right now different decks are actually different decks.

Anything that can negate his effects. Called By is also at 2 in MD/OCG so it's actually easier to take down DPE than it otherwise is in the TCG

It isn't a hard card to counter. DPE's strength is in his flexibility and the fact that it's hard for some decks to take down, but like I mentioned before, the means to get rid of it are actually a lot more abundant in the OCG/MD than the TCG.
