>BLAME!
>a manga about mostly walking in a post-apocalyptic world
>a great work and hailed as one of the best in it's medium
>Death Stranding
>a game about mostly walking in a post-apocalyptic world
>hated by literally everyone
Yeah walking wasn’t the problem
BLAME!
>Death Stranding
>walk across North America
>BLAME!
>walk across the circumference of Jupiter
i watched blame earlier this year, it was alright. I wish anime would take itself more seriously though without all of the melodrama.
The only good part of the blame ova was the slugfest.
Nihei is fucking great, but this comparison is the dumbest shit imaginable.
Make a better thread.
Another user filtered by Death Stranding. Many such cases.
I thought that the world looked really interesting. I also liked the factory design. Whenever a character spoke, however, I wanted to kms
Where's the BLAME! type kino bros? All I know of is NaissanceE
This is not a full on comparison, I’m just trying to say that DS’s flat bland terrain was boring, and made no impression on the player. BLAME! was the opposite, you can’t forget the brilliant architecture in it.
>watched blame
There's Manifold Garden, but it's more of a crappy puzzle game than an atmospheric exploration game.
> watched
Adaptashit eaters will never get it
Bet you enjoyed Berserk 2016
sorry i didn't know that it was a manga before.
A Blame! game would have to be procedurally generated, with enough variation in tilesets, landmarks (eg statues) and types of environment (enormous ravines, tiny settlements in hidden books, etc.)
I don't think it could be easily done.
Then again, we have Minecraft, which is practically the same thing, the only difference being the scale rendered and the complexity of the assets.
First of all, Death Stranding isn't hated by "literally everyone" at all and the BLAME! manga is a niche series that is not universally praised by everyone either. Second of all, Death Stranding and BLAME! utilize completely different mediums. One is interactive and the other is a book. Looking at someone walking through a weird, disturbing world isn't the same as controlling a character walking through a sci-fi post apocalyptic world. Lastly, BLAME!'s world is just more visually imaginative than Death Stranding's world and many panels look very visually distinct, making it much less boring to look at someone walking. In other words, your post is kind of retarded, OP.
You can't even call the Blame movie an adaptation, it's just an original story loosely inspired by the manga where the few characters that appear in both don't even act or behave the same and the rules of the world are significantly different.
See above. You should read the manga. It's a completely different and significantly better experience.
Obligatory
epic fanfiction
Play Hellpoint.
It has soulsmeme combat going on, but environments and level design are very reminiscent of blame!.
>Play Hellpoint.
>It has soulsmeme combat going on
no, i will not
Your loss.
Keep searching for your blame game then.
This neglects to mention that the girl at the very start of the manga had the Net Terminal gene, but then she got captured and fucked up by the Silicon Life, so the very start of the story is Killy finding what he was looking for, failing to protect it, and needing to start all over again, which is why he has a personal hateboner for the Silicon Life throughout the story and takes clear pleasure in killing them.
I did. I liked it for being the Souls-like with the best exploration and atmosphere of any I've played, but I didn't find it reminiscent of Blame.
Anymore of these entertaining Yea Forumsutistic posts? I miss them.
No. Yea Forums degraded significantly. Yea Forums doesn’t even discuss anything not moe, and any attempt at posts like this are called “edgy”
>Everything goes to shit because this Guile wannabe doesn't want to explain what's going on
Fuck I completely forgot about the first chapter! Thanks user. It’s great how nihei doesn’t spoonfeed you but still makes a great story. Even Souls game fail in this regard.
There is no "plague" threatening humanity in The City. Authority itself states that the issue is humanity and Authority itself has lost the control of the expansion of The City. To stop the automatic Builders from building the vast labyrinth endlessly, they need a human with working Net Terminal genes to access the Netsphere and put a stop to it.
Silicon Life are simply a new race of cyborgs who prefer the things to be the way they are so they're antagonistic towards Killy as a result. As the BLAME 2 epilogue shows, Silicon Life cyborgs get hunted down by humanity when Killy eventually succeeds in his mission.
An undying old Terminator wants to access The Matrix so he can stop robots from endlessly building a vast labyrinth all humanity is trapped in. Stroggs from Quake want to stop him because their race thrives during this age of chaos, Safeguard wants to stop him because its a glitched out Antivirus program that turned into Skynet. The premise is very simple.
>will never see autistic posts from diehard fans about series like Eva, Code gayass, Berserk, HxH, DN, Monster, Punpun, etc. again
>all because of normalfags and ironic weebs infesting Yea Forums
Am I really too old for this shit site?
Yeah, looking at the first chapter again, that was an interesting revelation.
I still have zero clue who the girl with the dog is though or what happened there since she never comes up, though the old ONA had the chapter where she appears titled as "Cibo".
>want to re-read BLAME!
>remember that the only high-res scans available are of Nihei's shitty re-draws and the original art was only ever scanned as 600x1000 jpegs
MangaSee is the best one
I compared a few chapters between the original scans and ME and ME looked like a straight upgrade.
Games like Blame?
>tfw no-
yes, except a few re-drawn pages
>watched
in hindsight star wars is like blame before blame
but Lucas never cared about this little detail "the death star is a megastructure"
>watched
The movie is garbage and has basically nothing to do with the manga except having two characters from it.
Naissancee
Just a walking simulator but it's an interesting world to walk in
Another game is Rain World. It's an exploration platformer that is gorgeous but very difficult.
>watched blame
I honestly forget Blame! had adaptations
They sell blame! at my local Waterstones
Rain World kinda. The whole game is centered around a superstructure you get to explore.
cibo
Rain world is pure kino and probably the closest thing you can get to a blame world
BLAME! is not that good and I'm tired of pretending it is.
The art is pretty and that is it.
It is like souls games. Complete dogshit excuse for a "plot" that pseudo-intellectuals pick up and pretend they have a 200IQ for making up lore.
t. needs a handler to tie his shoes for him
NaissanceE
It's free, you got no reason not to try it
>caring about the plot
the plot in Blame! is a means to an end, the enjoyable part is exploring the setting through the art and your imagination
No one forces you to play the pretend game faggot.
I’ll be honest this game looks all style no substance and the style that’s there seems shallow at best
Blame is all style no substance so that adds up
I relate it more to Fire Punch than anything else for this exact reason. FP ended when Doma got killed and you cannot tell me otherwise.
The ending of blame is serviceable, like you basically can figure what happens next and yata yata, but man I wish we just got a little more closer.
Friend, the plight of Killy wasn't simply walking around Jupiter. He was in a dysphon sphere. He walked TO Jupiter
>watched
Go read the manga, which conveniently has a hi res digital remaster now. It's infinitely better. The anime is poorly done and isn't actually a canonical depiction.
>I honestly forget Blame! had adaptations
I didn't even know it had one.
>Complete shit that comes out of nowhere, means nothing, and only serves as a device to show you Agni's gone off the deep end a long time ago
Absolute dog-ass taste.
