Great Shinobi Owl is easily one of the top 5 bosses in the Souls series

This bumped it up from a 9/10 to a 10/10. Just fucking phenomenal. They snuck in a little Demons Souls -tier trickery into what could have been a very conventional boss fight. Just fantastic
Owl Father is a cool, tough boss. But Great Shinobi Owl is From at their best. That and Guardian Ape are the best encounters that Sekiro has to offer. As much as I love the Isshin's + Genichiro (all very solid bosses), these two are the king

Buddha creates a kind of construct through people's memories. But the memory is just a component of it. Sekiro would not be able to solve the secret of the siege against the Hirata estate without Buddha creating that space with information external to his own memories.
Also Malenia is clearly Tomoe with an Elden Skin. She even does a Sakura dance. But don't tell anyone.

It seems that the (fake) Sculptor was a mercenary working for the Ashina clan on payroll. Bloodlust sets in, Isshin stopped him with the Ashina Cross™ because he gave a fuck for him for some reason, and then they become friends. Not sure if in that order.

Thinking about Guardian Ape makes me sad man. FromSoft made a boss against a gigantic ADHD monkey who farts and throws his shit at you, who literally just fucking stands back up after you kill him, then attacks you with a completely different fighting style (slow deliberate attacks with massive range as opposed to fast close-quarters attacks)
Elden Ring had such a weird art style and aesthetic, it made me think we were going to get all sorts of bizarre Scandinavian demon monsters with unique gimmicks. But nothing in the game was even slightly as surprising as Guardian Ape or Owl's phase 2 jumpscare.
I think the one time Elden Ring actually shocked me was when a giant hand came crawling up a cliffside as I approached it. One genuinely unique moment in like 100 hours of gameplay.
They just need to make Sekiro 2 or a Ds1 -style game with lots of unique bosses, enemies, areas, etc. Im so sick of "the next boss is a really fast guy who hits hard." Since the combat in most other Souls games pales in comparison to Sekiro, I cant even enjoy a high-speed fight anymore. Malenia or Radhan would have been super fun if you fought them with Sekiro mechanics
