thanks for this, I had totally forgotten KAze was working on this. Speaking of Kaze, that romhack thing he hosts should be coming up, right? Next month?
No problem. F3 is usually in early July, so two months from now.
This ROMHack looks cool but I cant get over what an insecure self-sucking faggot the guy actually is, like why did he feel the need to post this and flex on us we get it u can lift weights and have a girlfriend ur not the only one man stfu
wow a new coat of paint on the same old boring gameplay
It's good but pretty janky in some places like level geometry being awkward for the camera or enemy collision and behavior being bad. I'm looking forward to his other hack since it seems like he's trying to remove all jank from it.
I can't even get it to work, it's full of visual glitches and half the geometry is loading and unloading
trying too hard there zoomie
Use gliden64 for the graphics plugin. If it crashes on startup uncheck one of the graphics options (I forget which one)
I'm using glide mk2 is that not the version I should be using?
Yeah I've been playing it. did you notice the graphics are broken as shit?
he fucked something up during the end of development with the brightest white colours and didn't bother to fix it. it's such a shame.
He should leave his arms and work on his abs for a while.
He should start a cut now.
What graphics plugin were you using? I used Jabo's 1.6 and it looked fine.
Idk I just installed parallel launcher and it works out of the box
I'll just wait for Simple to play it.
It really sucks mario still controls like shit and doesn't have the acceleration/friction and moveset fixes in this mod.
The camera is garbage. that stupid quick tap shit to move the camera in chunks is awful. Especially when the dpad goes unused.
He should have just let you use dual analogue with the emulated second controller as an option. frankly these old n64 cameras are not acceptable anymore.
>Jabo's 1.6
What the fuck? he explicitly says to use GLideN64 in the romhack page.
and clearly the graphics are broken with all version of that. why wouldn't he recommend the plugin that actually works.
anyway that's awesome that there's a way to fix it and apricate the art direction.
What happened to all those hacks in previous F3?
Where the fuck is Super Mario Galaxy DS and Wario Land 4 hack?
The Wario Land 4 hack is out. Not sure about the Galaxy DS one.

>Super Mario Galaxy DS

that's going to take a long time.
bump
Nice, thanks
How the fuck is this guy so prolific? It seems like every couple weeks he has a new mega mod out.
I look for romhacks with decent art direction.
I'm looking forward to youtube.com
But every other romhack I find looks like dogshit and is like a bunch of blocks placed with no identity or the art is just plain bad.
I got moonshine 64 for the PC port and that looks pretty great once I made a few customisations. seems like most romhackers tend to make their games look like shit tho the music is typically not very good either.
Any good GameCube romhacks?
I'm the opposite, I don't give a shit about the looks and only care about the platforming.
I even find bad looks endearing.
It's insane how much they can port everything from the original. I can't even imagine how hard it is to replicate all that effects with DS limitations
Seriously, where are these people in 2008 and why Nintendo didn't hire them yet?
I think this is his job now
I've beaten Star Revenge 6.25 and Super Mario 64 Land. Which SM64 romhack would you recommend I play next? What's the best one?
Star road is the best
Mario 64: ocarina of time
Mario 74 EE or treasure world for Kaizo hacks
>Kaze romhack
No thanks. Last Impact was so unfair that I couldn't even be bothered to download another SM54 romhack again.
yeah Kaze is a great showcaser of OTHER hacks but his own kind've suck and are way too janky. I'll stick to Skelux.
I just finished it, was pretty good though I barely used any pokemon except where required.
This new one was really damn easy. Jumping in a pit just removes 1 hit point and puts you back on land.
I think I played Star Road like 13 years ago and didn't like it.
I wish I could praise Star Road too, but that is a whole can of worms. Never finished it because of the shit level design. I really don't understand why every SM64 hack needs to be ultra hard and impossible to beat instead of having a reasonable difficulty level.
>we get it u can lift weights and have a girlfriend
I mean I can lift weights but I guess the GF part makes him better than me.
>Kaizo
>with 64 Marios garbage slippery movement and no fixes or moveset additions.
yeah no way
uh not to be all "git gud" on you but star road is not hard at all, aside from a few stupid cannon shot stars.
Star Revenge 6.25 was cool because it was above SM64 in terms of difficulty for the most part but didn't, like, set every level in the sky with narrow passageways. At least until the invisibility cap stage.
Is there a way to go into 1st person? The new camera doesn't let you look up very far.
i tried it in retroarch both with mupen and parallel cores and its laggy as fuck, normally i'd think thats just how it is, but being a kaze hack i think there must be something wrong, does anyone else have this problem? anyone knows how to fix the lag?
Most of the stuff on this chart is good. Super Mario Star Road is the best, but I'd also recommend Star Revenge 3.5 and 0 if you liked 6.25.
>star road
>shit level design
holy mother of bait, he just threw the rod in
>Skelux
He's making a large DS romhack on a crappy system that can never have an analogue camera or even anologue movement. It's doomed.
nope it's shit.
Kaze is a faggot
I actually BLJ'd through the gate blocking the first required Pokemon star. Sadly I couldn't find a way to get the other two that required Pokemon.
>Look for Secret of Mana rom hacks on romhacking.net
>Don't find any I really need or want
>Play through the game
>Find out after I finish it that some cocksucker had a massive fix for all the issues I had with the game, but posted it on the RHDN forums instead of submitting it on the site
Just the thwomp you have to blow up and the poison sewer besides that gate yea. I also used Haunter in the water level to easily grab the star off the boner fish.
Improvements are an underrated category of romhacks. Every time I replay a classic there's always something to just iron out those tiny little flaws. Shit like this is why video games is the best medium, like there's no fix for the Harry Potter books.
The vertex colors on the level look amazing. Definitely a step up from how it looked in the demo.
Oh there's some banjo hacks with good art direction.
youtube.com
Where the fuck do you even start with Mario 64 romhacks
What's a good sm64 mod that is normal people difficulty. I'm not into speed run bullshit or dying 100 times to learn some level
there's some mods in this thread.
you will need the original "Super Mario 64 (U) [!].z64"
get it here archive.org
then download a bps patch and drag both files into this idiot proof patcher
hack64.net
Any good Megaman romhack beside Minus Infinity?
Aside from some slowdown, the romhack works really nicely. And all I needed was lunar IPS to patch it.
I have a folder full of romhacks that I've yet to get around to playing. It's mostly shit like QoL hacks. I never actually played any SM64 hacks, but a lot of them have been ported to the PC port.
X1-3 Zero Playable. More than just cosmetic changes, they vastly improve the game balance. For example, bosses can't be stunlocked anymore, which makes them a fun and fair fight. you ever fight Spark mandrill without Shotgun ice? Phew/.
For a short mod Peach's Fury is fun. got me into romhacks
youtube.com
You wont need to use save states because the design very much values your time and allows you to fail.
See Star Road is where most people start. I'd say it's normal difficulty, but if it gives you too much trouble then try SM64 Sapphire or Sunshine Secret Book. They're both short, fun, and easier than the original game.
>kaze
sorry, no. i'm of legal age.
Does the gay lisp make the experience better or something?
>but a lot of them have been ported to the PC port
No. hardly any romhacks are on the PC port are they?
These level designs look pretty cool, like if the 3D games took inspiration from Super Mario Land, but why the fuck is Namek here?
