The solution makes little sense in the context of the story.
Just because she's a gadget-loving technophile doesn't tell us she's obsessed with QWERTY keyboards when there are several methods of input. Hell, I'd think someone who loves gadgets would be more likely to be using the latest phone or something.

Look at a basic computer keyboard. The bite marks on each letter refers to the letter that is next to it in that direction, what letter is above the G key, what letter is to the left of C, etc. E is the only one without a mark, so its stays as E.
Would have made alot more sense had the riddle mentioned that she loves using computers, rather than feel the need to say gadgets or technophile.

That is English, Igor. Look at your keyboard. Find the chocolate piece's letter. Look in the direction a bite was taken. Replace the letter with that one.
