Comes out 6 years after botw, the longest any 3D Zelda game has taken...

>comes out 6 years after botw, the longest any 3D Zelda game has taken, despite being a sequel that's reusing botw's template
>45 seconds of gameplay after nearly 3 years since its reveal
>delayed to spring of next year
>no E3 this year, uncertain if we will see a proper trailer in june
>will likely still end up feeling like botw 1.5

The gimmick is time travel again, and sky cities. Wowzers.

>OMG NINTENDO I NEED ANOTHER ZELDA NOWWWWW. BING BING WAHOO XD

Will either be the biggest let down of the the entire series, or a bona fide masterpiece. There is no in-between.

And it'll sell tens of millions and be GOTY. Skyward Sword HD, a quick and dirty port of the worst 3D Zelda, sold 3.6 million four months after release. If you think releasing a sequel to what many consider the greatest video game of all time on a console that's about to outsell the fucking PS2 isn't a recipe for success, you're retarded.
Like for all the doomposting you retards do, you always seem to forget that you're a minority. The market does not care about you and it never has

its crazy how theyve barely shown anything. I swear theyve shown more shit weve already experienced in botw than any new stuff. it has me a bit worried, as botw didnt blow me away or anything in the first place

No one is denying it will sell, they're denying it will be good/as good as people are claiming it will be.

how badly did covid fuck nintendo?
it's like they shut down ops for 2 years

This is why I think it'll be either one of 2 extremes: they're either hiding a LOT about the game for a massive blowout reveal later on that surpasses expectations, or they really do have little to show as it's a cookie-cutter sequel.

>the longest any 3D Zelda game has taken
Wow, a 1 year longer than the wait between SS and BotW? The horror!
When will zoom zoom kids realize that making modern AAA games takes TIME?

>no E3 this year, uncertain if we will see a proper trailer in june
This is a GOOD thing.
Less artificial hype building and wasted effort on advertisement BS, more game designing and development.

>will likely still end up feeling like botw 1.5
And that's a "bad" thing?
We gonna pretend that MM was not a OoT 2.0?

k-kino...

>as botw didnt blow me away or anything in the first place
So you're a shit taste zoomie. Got it.

And you're an ADHD moron. Fuck off.

yes. it's been 5 years already, gonna be 6 by the time it comes out. want another video in the franchise I like. problem nigger?

>And you're an ADHD moron. Fuck off.
And you're a dumb shitposter.

>sales sales sales
this isn't a sales thread

>Wow, a 1 year longer than the wait between SS and BotW? The horror!
those games were made from scratch, botw already laid out a shit town of groundwork for the sequel. gorilla nigger stop being selective with what I said.
>We gonna pretend that MM was not a OoT 2.0?
no, but that took a year and a half. and still had a ton of soul and its own feel. I am reserving my judgment for the sequel but as it is now, they're not giving people much confidence.

When will this fucking end?

>We gonna pretend that MM was not a OoT 2.0?
MM came out 1 year after OOT. Not 6+ years like BOTW2

I don't even remember when it was, but there was a 4th incident. What did Aonuma do for Miyamoto to subject him to this cruel punishment?

Say the Star Fox 0 controls suck.

i just want pic related

What happened to his hair?

You guys just want ALttP in 3D don't you?

why are neco arc zoomers always so retarded

FF16 and BOTW2 will NEVER come out.

johnny depp was semi-cancelled so he had to stop looking like japanese johnny depp

Yeah, you're a faggot and a coon

What I assumed happened is
>Nintendo is retarded and did not immediately see they should do a direct sequel
>Development started on the sequel later than many people assume
>Covid fucks development up
>At this point so much time has passed that they don't know if audiences will consider it worth the wait
>They realized that reusing the same map wasn't actually nearly as fun without more novelty (humans naturally value novelty over refinement)
>Decide that the sky (and possibly the underground?) portions of the map need to be greatly expanded upon to the point of basically just doubling the map size
And here we are

Just because it sell millions and is like by the common denominator doesn’t mean it’s actually good
form your own opinion

One nice thing about being old. The gap between SS and BotW felt like forever. Now though BOTW feels like it just came out.

They've said really clearly that development on the sequel started immediately after the DLC was finished.

The biggest problem BotW 2 faces is that it's going to be great. Great is the absolute bare minimum expectation for the game. That's also all it can really be when it's just reusing the original's base on the Switch's hardware. It's completely impossible for it blow any minds. Players asked for an asset flip because they thought it would take less time. They don't want to deal with the longest wait for a 3D Zelda ever just for what BotW 2 will inevitably be. The game is not in an enviable position. I just cannot see it being anything but another part of BotW's legacy rather than its own masterpiece.

>It's completely impossible for it blow any minds.
If they added actual dungeons and game design then it'd be pretty mind blowing desu

MonolithSoft really was the only thing keeping BOTW from being worse than it alread is,

Imagine unironically needed six years to make some floating islands and a cave. A college student getting started in Unity can do that in a month.

More like MS wasn't there to babysit them and make XC3

Those claims are often bullshit though, or include failed prototypes that never worked out. Halo Infinite was claimed to have started development right after Halo 5 released, but it was later discovered that only 2 years were spent working on it, while the rest were wasted on shit like a hero shooter concept that got scrapped

Don't get me wrong, I do no think it's likely to blow away expectations. It think it's far more likely to feel like a sub-par disappointment. The development time has been so long that anything short of exceptional would feel like an insult. 5+ years of development coming off of the same engine and many borrowed assets from its predecessor means expectations are high for it to deliver something groundbreaking...and I just can't see botw 2 achieving that.

It'd blow my mind if they made it a zelda game and not a admittedly decent open world game

That was ocarina of time literally

Literally OoT. Just like how Metroid Prime was Super Metroid as an FPS.

It's no surprise they put BOTW2 on ice after ER released when the first continent Limgrave has more bosses, enemies, armors, weapons, spells than all of BOTW combined.
It makes Nintendo look like an indie studio releasing an early access proof of concept demo.

fag

I highly doubt ER is the reason for BotW2's delay

It's probably not the only reason, clearly it is a troubled project that started as an asstflip quick DLC/expansion style game that got spun off into a full sequel only for it to buckle under the pressure.
ER releasing and having x10 more content than most open world games only sealed the deal for them to quietly sweep it under the rug.

Been replaying it to get practice in, if I collect ONE Korok Seed a day, every day, do you think there will be any new information by the time I obtain the golden turd of shame?

anyway I love Elden Ring! The sales are proof that it's a good game :3

Why do you think that? Monolith can make large worlds but the Xenoblade games aren't exactly highly interactive there nor do they have much going on in terms of actual level design.

Then play Elden Ring. Zelda is for giant empty grassy fields with sprinkles of copy pasted content now.

nearly every mainline zelda has been delayed, some of them repeatedly. The real problem is they keep announcing the next game in the series far too early.

Elden Ring is an action game, not an exploration/adventure game. Not knocking it for what it is, just saying that it's not a comparable experience to what user is probably looking for.

Because they worked on the first, game and the dev cycle for XC3 was made in-between while BOTW 2 has had nothing but delays despite using the same map.

>not an exploration/adventure game
Don't mistake emptiness for exploraton/adventure. Elden ring is absolutely an exploration/adventure game and it also has action.

Elden Ring is literally an action game with some roleplaying game elements, user.

user what exactly does adventure or exploration mean to you?

Attached: 1648692962130.jpg (862x960, 46.85K)

ER has better exploration than any Zelda game.
You can miss whole quest chains, NPCs, bosses, whole multi-hour main dungeons, 50+ spells, weapons, weapon arts of you don't explore a bunch.

There's literally 20+ bosses that only appear at night at certain locations, making almost every blind run unique in many way.
Some of these night bosses appear in merchant locations, and no other game manages to fucking surprise you like that when you walk into a shack to buy arrows and a red bell hunter fades in front of you.

lol

My favorite moment in Breath of the Wild was finding a weird structure while walking along side a ravine, It ended up being the roof of the forgotten temple, but I was so exited on finding somehting strange and unknown for the first time. It was sad when I enter and saw the shrine waiting for me there.
