Maybe it's because you make this thread everyday instead of actually working on your art. Get back to work now.

It gets good 100000 hours in

Dark Souls 3.

I hope so, I'm probably 30000 hours in and it still really sucks.

If you enjoy drawing for drawing's sake, it sucks a lot less.

not going any deeper into that trap, no way. thank god there are millions of autistic, validation-seeking madmen to do all the work for me so that i can enjoy the fruit without any of the labor

What if you were a fan of a particular fetish, say for example older ladies endowed with large male organs involved in lewd non-consensual activities with younger hairless virgin males dressed as maids
Would it all be worth it?

Keep on drawing, even the hedon dev kept drawing.

The next stage is knowing you can consistently make decent work but having absolutely no desire to because after all that grinding its now boring.

that's exactly it, i have a retarded, subhuman, obscure fetish and even still it had a massive art boom starting in the 2010s that is largely alive to this day. i used to get off to ms paint tier drawings, i used to have to scribble out grug's first cave paintings-tier work to get off, i used to have to spend 10+ hours at a time daydreaming to get off, i used to have to vaguely fulfill my fetish in warcraft 3 via crude modding tools.

now i get a variety of mods, animations, videos, games and an endless flow of new art. i can hardly even handle the amount of content i now have to work with, i feel like gorbachev placed into an american supermarket, why the hell would i spend years upon years perfecting this craft just to become one more style in the drawpile? im already in heaven, i need not even try anymore

Mods are asleep? This freak keeps spamming this same thread over and over.

Reminder: I mog all of you at drawing.
No I will not post my work.

What's your fetish? Mine is futa on male and there's perhaps less than a dozen quality set of content each year so I'm pretty motivated, even learned blender once

I don't understand how to practice fundies

based

that body is so wrong he should just have kyssed instead

>grinding
Should've done it the fun way and just draw, user.

dude you know nothing about art. is about colors. colors make everything better. you should be ashamed.

hmmm hard to say gonna need to see some illustrated examples

mine's lesbian bdsm with scat and it's practically nonexistant

He is just experimenting with proportions

I sold my soul to get a decent wage but I want to shoot myself. On balance I guess its better than being shit and poor then also wanting to kill myself.

Here's a funny thing about art: It's literally my job, people pay me to make art for them. I'm very much a bottom-of-the-barrel illustrator, but I make enough through it and graphic design to pay my bills. (This isn't bragging or flexing, it's setting up my point here).

But the funny thing about my work is that it takes a long-ass time to look like anything more than retard scribbles. Like, any time I share work done quickly, or WIP stuff, or anything that's generally not finished, it just looks like complete dogshit because for some reason 90% of the actual magic (for me) happens in the last 25% of the illustration. And even to me, this can be super discouraging because all I want to do is be able to put together something quickly and have people resonate with it, but it looks like shit most of the time. I think a huge portion of my semi-successful pieces end up working because I see how bad the early process is and I have to work extra hard to wrestle something presentable out of it.

My point is, don't be discouraged if you fucking suck. But not sucking takes a tremendous amount of work and you have to absolutely NEED it. Just wanting to make pretty pictures isn't enough.

Should I
>Sell my deck and get a 16 in cintiq
>Sell my deck and get an ipad
>Keep my deck and continue drawing traditional
>Keep my deck and buy a cheap chinese knockoff cintiq

I tried surviving Mars yesterday and didn't finish the tutorial because the interface sucks dick

Buy a 2nd hand pad

Just buy a screnless tablet. They're unironically better and cheaper.
Better for your posture too.

Where?
I had one years ago, I really didn't like it

>>Sell my deck and get a 16 in cintiq
No. For the same price or less you can unironically get a 22inch XP-Pen Pro, which is just as good and will afford you way more luxury just in size alone. And trust me, I'm the first one to write off cheap Chinese shit, but I've been using my XP-Pen 15.6 Pro as a professional for years now and it's extremely high quality, especially for the cost.

That said, honestly if money is an issue (which it might be considering you have to sell something?) you can just buy a non-display tablet and use that just fine. A display tablet won't make you a better artist, I know artists way better and more successful than me that don't use display tablets at all.

You get used to it. Screen tablets are terrible. Especially if you get standalone like iPad since you lose out on hotkeys

Can I start learning to draw on a tablet instead of on paper?
It seems more fun to me.

Me neither

Yes. I kept giving up because I just don't like traditional drawing, but drawing on a tablet just clicked for me. Plus, digital is a different toolset compared to traditional.

Yeah. It's a good idea to do both.
Skills transfer fairly well from one to the other, its only really painting that gets messy quickly, but the general concept is the same.

If you ever move into concept art it gets even worse because technical skills are taken for granted, the same as them expecting you to speak fluent English, now the hard part is imagining something interesting, then imagine if you were still struggling with basic shit. Feels like being tasked with writing a novel but you're an ESL moron who has to use a dictionary to say hello.

>Can I start learning to draw on a tablet instead of on paper?
You can, but why would you potentially waste your money on something you're not even invested in to begin with?

That's like asking if you should buy a super expensive set of hand-forged chef's knives to learn how to cook basic shit like mac and cheese.

where's the updated tutorial

A tablet really isn't that much money. It's arguably cheaper in the long run than buying a sketchbook, pencils, erasers, and other drawing tools. Shit, you can get one for just $34.

Once when I was like 12-13, I drew this design for an eyeball-spider monster, and by a sheer fluke, it actually looked decent. I wish I kept it, because I haven't drawn anything even a quarter as good before or since.

>$200 tablet is ridiculous! Why would you waste so much money on a hobby you haven't tried yet?!
>just buy $500 worth of physical consumable art supplies that'll be used up in a year instead.
>deluxe battlefield 2098 for only $120? What a deal!

>If you ever move into concept art
I very briefly worked in low-level concept art out of college, and it almost killed my desire to draw at all. I'm just not built for designing and rendering 50 types of leather gloves or potion bottles every day.

The irony is, I actually have sort of forced myself back into doing concept art because I took on a personal project to write, illustrate, and self-publish a TTRPG book, which means I have to basically do all of the concept art and design before I can even get into the dozens of individual illustrations, splash pages, and key art I'll need.

And that's all shit I'm not even being paid for.

Is it even possible to get of to your own art? I only ever did it with unfinished sketches where I could ignore the mistakes, and even then I was mostly using them to animate the scenes in my head.

>>just buy $500 worth of physical consumable art supplies that'll be used up in a year instead.
Bruh. A sketchbook and a pack of mechanical pencils is like $20 total.

If you can't go buy a sketchbook and fill it, what the fuck are you going to do with a tablet? 99% of you people couldn't even do a single page much less fill a whole sketchbook.

ngl I think perspective in depth is coming easier to me than figure drawing
lots of 90 degree angles
t. completely casual for over almost 4 years but finally free and stable

>Is it even possible to get of to your own art?
You know, I've known plenty of furry and porn artists, and I've never once asked any of them if they get that into their own illustration work. I'd imagine no because as someone who has done both character art and Zbrush stuff, sculpting and drawing plenty of naked people in my day, I wouldn't be interested in any of my own art.

Now the references I sometimes use? That's a different story...

My main concern with chinese tablets is non existent customer service and funky driver issues. My old non display one I had to plug in and out a few times before computer could detect it, a minor issue but was pretty annoying. Is there any issue like that with your XP or smooth sailing? I think they have caught up to wacom in terms of screen and pressure quality, but idk always wanted a cintiq as a kid and it is now in my reach. I like display stuff + smaller size cause I can whip it out whenever like a sketchbook, non display needs a desk + has a learning curve to get used to.

Yeah and you can buy a cheap Chinese knockoff tablet for $40 and not worry about sketchbooks and pencils.
Shits cheap as dick. The cost comparison is always a meme since the moment you add literally anything extra in physical the cost skyrockets.

>My main concern with chinese tablets is non existent customer service and funky driver issues.
Again, I've been using an XP-Pen 15.6 Pro professionally for at least 6 years now. Never once had any major tech issues that would require customer service, but honestly the quality of the product is so high that I would not expect a problem with their service at all. They're not some fly-by-night company ripping off cheap Amazon products. I'm not sponsored by them or anything, I just can vouch for the quality.

For reference, a friend of mine WAS sponsored by Huion which is a similar cheaper competitor to Wacom, and she was given a big tablet by them and said it was amazing. I tried one of their cheaper models and found it very clunky and not very good to use, especially since they use (used at the time, maybe not anymore) pens you had to charge with a cable. Eugh.

The only issue I've ever had is sometimes Windows Ink/tablet pressure drivers crap out, but you can usually just kill the process and restart it and it is fine. Happens very rarely.

As far as compared to Wacom, it's been a while since I tried a Cintiq, but I would absolutely say they're as good as anything Wacom used to make, I can't compare them these days. My only major-ish concern is that for me, I can't quite calibrate the display to have the same color/saturation values as my monitor, which means I always end up painting way under-saturated and I have to fix it with adjustment layers.

I wish I didn't feel like she the instant I put pen to tablet.
It's like every single action is a mistake.

>cha is actually effective

Attached: 1650066395928.webm (720x406, 2.87M)

What's the problem with it?

low level concept art is soul destroying but its good training, I somehow skipped it and fell into a high level position but that was even worse because I only knew how to make nice illustrations that took 100 hours and suddenly had to condense that into 1/20th the time.

Anyone finished this?

Attached: dab.png (350x200, 16.32K)

DaB is a piece of shit program made by someone that doesn't know how to teach. Unironically watch Proko if you want entry level stuff.

Maybe it's just me not understanding, but why do so many beginners insist on drawing so huge with such a small brush? My dude, lower your canvas size and use a chunkier brush, you'll feel a lot better about your ability to block out forms and quickly get information onto the page without having to scribble your lines over and over trying to feel them out.

wish they'd have a video with them trying to start shit with tigers
I know my great pyr would maul the shit out of that bird

>Is it even possible to get of to your own art?
Definitely. I REALLY like how I drew the x-ray and cum and vaginal fluids and the dick and how the dick penetrates /jp/-tan's cunny in this image set I drew. pixiv.net/en/artworks/97800977 Though, I don't really fap to it, but it gets me really horny to the point I fap to one of the dozens of commissions I had made that's similar to the drawing.

Also post your work.

Yeah it's not really fun. But you're right, it does force you to lock those basic fundamentals in your head because you don't have time to deal with them over and over.

Thankfully, I'll probably never go back to that line of work unless I have nothing else going for me. But still, I took my current project as a personal challenge, to force myself to do more stuff and refine my skills an hopefully at the end have a cool product to show for it.
