Hindsight is 20/20 and all, but I wish I'd bought a ton of these when they were a few hundred bucks. They were known as the super rare card in the 90s too, but I never thought they'd be this valuable.

it inherently isn't because unlike with Pot of Greed or Bill (or Professor Oak, not really sure which is considered stronger) it costs a resource, mana, to play. It's not that AR isn't strong it's just that BL is stronger.

AR is card advantage, BL is mana ramp. BL is stronger because BL is an artifact that can fit in any deck without worrying about color and is literally free to cast and tap meaning you can get 4 mana creatures on turn 1 with just this and a land
AR has nothing on that kind of power

Man I played MTG 20 years ago. And it was literally THE most proxied card on the planet.

People say its "too strong" but pretty much everyone proxied it back then and had it in their deck.
