Are you games PAL region? PAL is locked to 50 FPS while NTSC is 60 FPS and this only changed with the 7th generation consoles where you were given the option to switch between the two and then eliminated with 9th generation consoles.

just like with ps2 emulation some games are going to work really well, some arent for whatever reason.
but in general, games do run.

For more intensive games, Dolphin does poorly in Steam mode because of a weird quirk it does for treating the CPU portion as 8c8t instead of 4c8t and misallocating GPU and CPU power in the balance. Turning the GPU clock manually to the highest should allow for you to run things smoothly. Ideally, the better thing to do is to be able to shut off some cores for emulation but you can only do that in a plugin for the Deck's miscellaneous menu for now.
