Does this game pick up at all? I'm bored with the open world and the quests are pretty lackluster. I kind of like the characters but other than that I'm kinda bored

Yes past Chapter 8 the story picks up the pacing.

FF15 it's actually one of the most enjoyable open world games I've played recently.
And also one of my favorite Final Fantasy game

If you're not enjoying it now, you won't enjoy it later. The combat doesn't get better and the story never evolves past average. It gets kinda good around the leviathan, then immediately nose dives.

fuck off barry

The actual most epic part of the plot happenings after chapter 8.
Go to Altissia, and you will face a really awesome battle.

Also, the ending of the game is great

The open world is incredibly empty the characters are very endearing but kind of annoying. The combat is very middling and for the love of Christ I have gotten so sick of the little inane fetch quests. I'm just spinning my wheels man I really do want to like this game but it's not giving me much motivation to do so. I found ff7 remake way more enjoyable. If you like it that's good but Man the game is failling very hard to convince me to keep going

You're telling me I have to go to chapter 8 even while dealing with the tedious combat and inane fetch quests?
That's what I was afraid of

The largest part of the plot start only after the chapter 8.
When you reached that point, all the things going to evolve, for explode in the climax at chapter 14.

As a final fantasy fan, it's worth it

This is one of those games where after you finish it youre going to realize just how fucking the game is. I hope you either pirated it or got it for really fucking cheap.

sounds about right

>lackluster
You gotta go back. Ffxv is for adults.

It goes much more epic after the Altissia battle

It's a terrible game.

game is boring from start to finish

So it gets good around chapter 8 and there's 15 chapters so I have to play halfway through this game in order to experience potentially good story with the same kind of gameplay and the same kind of quest fetching?
I pirated it

It's an amazing game

If you doing only the main quest, you don't have to make any fetch quests.
If you don't wish to doing them

Yeah but isn't that me ignoring like half the game? A side quests are supposed to boast up my level and give me the ability to earn more money and shit.

You could obtain money by selling enemies objects.
And experience by defeating enemies and then camping or just going to sleep somewhere.
(the hotels give you a boost exp)

People are fucking with you, the game is shit. You might as well finish it since you pirated it and you can see for yourself how awful it is.

No. The plot is nonsensical because it’s told in a movie and manga that you’re expected to consume before playing this game. The gameplay sucks, there’s no strategy you just buy Phoenix downs and whittle away at enemy’s enormous health bars for 20 minutes. The side quests are not fun, the characters are confusing and weird. There’s a forced bromance that really doesn’t make sense given the character interactions.

Overall it’s a giant mess of a game

The ending of ff15 is one of the best endings of the franchise

But then I also have to ignore half the game though correct

no, the best part are the characters. story never gets good, combat never gets good but there's Armiger Unleashed which is kinda fun but it's locked behind clearing all dungeons and hidden in the open world in one of the last chapters. If you're not into the road trip you won't like this game

How is aimless open world crap even supposed to pick up, lol?

Why?
The ff15 game is enjoyable, both in the open world and also in the second act.
It's a whole great experience
Especially if you like the characters

lol shut the fuck up xv-kun

If you have the will to follow the plot, you're going to discover one of the most cool Final Fantasy games with FF15

Yuna whistling off a pier at the end of FFX has so much more sole than borrowing music from a black guy written 80 years ago

Soul too. I was talking about her feet in this post so don’t make fun of me

The last campfire scene in FF15 are KINO

There is literally nothing going on in the open world it's just desert there's some collectibles I suppose and some enemies but other than that there's no anything to explore that I haven't seen copy pasted elsewhere. I like the characters but the gameplay is meddling the open world is sparse and empty it feels very restrictive as well. And the side quest so far have been incredibly boring I can't really think of any one of them that was incredibly memorable

You can just choose not to do anything but the main story, and drive around from one quest to the next without looking around for any side stuff. The game is about 20 hours long if you do that.

Basically every quest is shit but there are a few nice side dungeons to find, and some of the megabosses are kind of fun to fight.

But the plot really is that good I probably just go look it up on YouTube not force myself to actually get through the tedium of the game

>"FF goes open world!"
>becomes a better game when it turns linear again

Yeah I mean I suppose I could do that. Although I'd have to come back to it when I feel inclined to do so because the game kind of pissed me off with how disappointing the rest of it is

kek

The game is good, especially if you like the gameplay.
It doesn't makes sense start a game and just don't finishing it.
So, why do you start it?

FF15 is a cool Final Fantasy game

It gets good after 100 hours

I repeatedly said that I find the game play to be very middling. I'm using the fuck out of the charge attack x button and having others do it it's not that innovative I'm just doing the same shit.

Why would I finish the game that I'm not enjoying that's retarded. I'm a grown ass man I got shit to do.

>FFVII: opening theme plays as the life force heals the world and we see Aeris’ face knowing she never really left
>FFVIII: eyes on me plays while we see Squall find his way through time compression and meet Rinoa. The ending is ambiguous so we don’t really know if things are actually okay or if he’s lost in some eternal hellish dimension
>FFX: Yuna is horribly depressed by the loss of Tidus but realizes she is a world leader now and must be strong for the people of Spira
>FFXV: dude Ben E King music lmao broship!

Halfway through it turns into an absolute shitshow trying to assemble a plot from whatever disjointed shit they had finished at the time. It doesnt genuinely get better but it's really funny.

If you are curious to discovering the FF15 plot, then just finish the game.

The main scenario of FF15 isn't very long (around 20 hours, if you only go for the story)
I suggest you to continue.
Because the ending alone it is really worth it the journey

I said I'm a little curious but watching a YouTube video is a lot quicker than going through the motions myself

Like I said I might do that option as well but the game is irritated me so it's probably not going to be for a while.

You clearly doesn't have reached the Final Fantasy 15 ending, then...

its better than xiv and xvi

Playing the game is more enjoyable than just looking a YouTube video.
The ff15 ending is worth it

This is a game that once you beat it you instantly can tell they put way too much detail and effort into pointless shit and then had to quickly finish everything else.

Final Fantasy XV is definitely underrated

Not for me. As per the reasons I already listed

The ring of Lucis magics are awesome
You could try it for yourself, if you continue the story

Unfortunately when you get to the end of the game, you start to appreciate the "boring" beginning in a "friends we made along the way" type of deal.

Once you unlock Chocobos etc. its easier to move around.

I beat the game on release. The campfire scene is literally just
>Hah I miss you guys you’re the best!
While Stand By Me plays. It’s unoriginal and fucking lame

Exploring the open world with the Chocobos in Final Fantasy is amazing

Actually, the FF15 ending gives me emotion

>all that samefagging
At least fucking try

Final Fantasy XV
The best modern Final Fantasy game

Sounds like reddit ring

No Eldon ring is far superior
Are you guys just the same person
No point in writing a chocobo when the world is empty and boring
I'm starting to get that feeling

The open world of Final Fantasy 15 has wonderful dungeons to explore, actually.

And you can also make some Chocobo race in FF15

You sound like a shill bot

I'm just a gamer that enjoyed FF15

Then stop blatantly ignoring every criticism that people have in here

I've just said what you could do in the openworld of FF15

None of which actually addressed the fundamental problems that are in this thread. It's not the traversal the world is boring as per people's complaints in here

Riding birds fishing doing stuff with your friends sure but the actual open world aspect of it is one trick and then nothing else most of what's around is some collectibles to sell and ingredients and shit to make magic. It's all to service the road trip aspect of it. Which gets very tired

It'll get you like final fantasy 15 but you don't seem to actually be responding or engaging in people's criticisms. If someone's telling you that their dinner is gross giving them a new plate or an interesting fork to eat it with is not going to change it
