If Sony thought they could get by this generation without effort and still get a repeat of the PS4's megaton assraping of the competition, why should anyone put any effort into wargaming ways to save them? Christ, the PS3 literally had dozens more released/announced exclusives this far into its lifespan, and the PS3 was known as a trashfire at the time. And holy fuck, Japanese devs are actually leaning into multiplats more often and taking PC more seriously (some devs like Capcom even wanting it to become their primary platform). That's how fucking badly PS5 has shit the bed.

PS3 was the biggest piece of shit I have ever owned. Constant OS updates every time you turn the fucking thing on, awful controller, shit performance on every game and just an absolute slog of a system.

They need to move management back to Japan. They need to fire Jim Ryan and bring back Kaz Hirai. Hermann Hulst is also a massive retard and Shuhei was a million times more talented. Hulst wants to turn Sony first-party into Marvel studios while their legacy is that of great variety and creativity. So they have retards at the top who are undoing all the massive work of their predecessors. It hurts to see.

Sony was actually at the top of their game during the PS3 era. Had the PS3 hardware itself not been such a letdown, people would've seen it more clearly. Move the HQ back to Japan and have an SoEA stationed in Maine/Florida/NY/Texas (idea diversity) focus on a new or existing mascot and market them again rebuilding the Sony image of video games. They had to make his ass CEO of Naughty Dog precisely because they couldn't lose face by firing him (unless he turned out to be a diddler or made an off-color joke on Reddit 10 years ago). He was just about as horrible of a project lead for TLOU2 as you could ask for from such a big company on every basis you could think of, but Sony held him up as the golden child to help promote TLOU2. He fell upwards so Sony could keep his ass out of future development and to distract mainstream elements from investigating and asking questions about TLOU2's actual sales performance.
