However, since the reason of Halo 1, we made leaps and bounds in worldwide understanding of AI and virtual devices. We no longer need to use the old rolling data aesthetic. In fact, it's quite antiquated by today's standards. It's like watching old movies portray robots as these clunky canisters with giant blinking light bulbs.

We are already seeing today, that algorithmic human creation can generation clothing just as well as everything else. We're making breakthroughs in the aesthetic of AI more quickly than the actual thinking part of the AI. So it only makes sense that Science Fiction creators would adjust their future projections to feature more realistic looking AI.

Virtuosity came out in 1995. The Lawnmower Man was 10 years before Halo. VR and AI and shit was not a new and novel concept even to the "stupid general public". The rolling data look of The Matrix was not because they thought it was the only way audiences would understand.
