DS2 was rad as fuck, DS3 felt really limp in that regard for everywhere that wasn't the Dragon Temple or the Forsaken City.
DS1 and 2 felt like a real adventure as you go across these crazy place but DS3 just felt like a slog.
DS1 is interconnected very well, DS2 feels like you're going to faraway lands but DS3 just feels like a big ass hallway with the most uninspired design in the entire franchise

Thankfully 3 didnt follow up that shit with more cringy garbage. Aldia is a cool character but DaS2 og's ending is much more poignant with what the theme was going for it.
