How do we save the fighting game industry? DNF Duel is dead before arrival and Street Fighter 6 will most likely be censored garbage.

Project L will revive and revolutionize the genre by giving it back to human beings.
DNF looks fun, SF6 will be fun
How do we make fighting games sell more? Make the presentation cool and flashy, have lots of varied content.
How do we make more players play them for serious? Better tutorialization and resources available in-game.
Other than that, not much you can do. Fighting games are a niche genre because they are a niche genre. Their core design and appeal is simply not what the "bulk consumer" looks for in their entertainment.
What does it matter if its censored? As long as the game is fun who teh fuck cares?
Fighting games will always be niche
It's unironically because its too easy to pick up and mash while being totally oblivious of the depth of these games
Normalfags get filtered of RTS because they know these games have tons of depth so they never even get a feet in, but in fighting games they think these games are simple and then realize they are not simple at all and get frustrated
The only way to change this is to actually butcher the genre and make it a party game with team based modes and cut out all the depth of these games, homogenize the framedata and add rock paper scissors mechanics, like mandatory king of the hill lobbies where everyone tries to play in a mini league of 8-16 players and everyone gets good boy points or some shit, what makes fighting games good is also what keeps most people out of the genre
>we
>us
>censored
You will change nothing because you did not play the games beforehand. You will not play them even if they pander to your 3rd worlders who will just lop their heads off onto a shitty daz3d body and they will continue to thrive without you.
>Other than that, not much you can do. Fighting games are a niche genre because they are a niche genre. Their core design and appeal is simply not what the "bulk consumer" looks for in their entertainment.
This fatalist attitude somehow always ignores that fighting games were absolutely 100% normie mainstream in the 90's.
Buy this
>What does it matter if its censored?
Censorship is the most evil thing you can do. It is far worse than murder. Murder only hurts a few people, censorship hurts every human who lives or ever will live in the infinite future.
I thought DFO was a huge IP?
Why does this board bend over backwards to suck the dick of a game we've seen like 2 seconds of?
for one, it is made by a developer that actually understand how to make competitive games
Yeah, and times change, video games evolve, and the amount of people buying and playing video games has grown by a factor of bajillion since then. So what was cool and hip back then, don't fly no more, daddy-o.
It's going to be made by the people behind Rising Thunder with help from the Power Rangers ToD fest game, it'll be shit.
No they don't. They wouldn't seethe if you dare stray from the pre determined meta if they were competent.
>immediate asshurt
just go back to the /fgg/ hugbox and continue not playing anything
You didn't answer my question.
Because enjoyed the Rising Thunder beta, I like Marvel, Grid's major flaw was it felt janky and awful to do stuff in like an amateur newgrounds game, (which it unironically was) and I doubt riot will release a game that will be DoA. Now go back to your containment general and stop making this shitty bait threads every day. You guys are drama whores that don't play and mash in games 10x dumber than anything Project L could possibly be.
Why?
Why what retard, stop wasting my time
You can't. Expect Tekken 8 and Blazblue 2 to be unga bunga short combo gorillian damage bullshit.
It is but I doubt most of them will play a fighting game
I'm not the one shilling an imaginary game.
>DNF Duel is dead before arrival
What, why
>Blazblue 2
Don't play with my heart, user
Back then people would play anything. I doubt most people who even tried sf or fighting games in general even knew how to play it
You are in this thread shilling your faggy bullshit and shitting your pants when anyone has an opinion you dislike.
>DnF duel
>coming out next month and we know absolutely nothing about PC version no steam page nothing at all
Red flag. Seriously what the actual fuck is Nexon doing?
They announced Capcom Arcade Stadium 2:
capcom-arcade-stadium.com
They obviously won't put any 3D figthing game on it (Tech Romancer, Rival Schools), but one can dream
KOFXV had the same thing happen
Melty had the same thing happen
...wait a minute
Man somebody is mad.
Why is Project L wrong but an overpriced fighting collection of kusoges because capcom ran out of games to port that has worse netcode and QoL features than current methods of playing the games okay? Maybe you are the shill, my guy.
Because the little they've shown proves they are already more competent than devs who have been making fighting games for decades.
Arcade Stadium is a f2p offline only rom pack where each game has to be individually bought for $2 and it looks like they will be locking roms behind pre-ordering other games.
Nexon is PC focused, you'd think they wouldn't fuck up big time...right?
Stop pushing this shit, you fucking retard. You are just making capcom look like thieves and its fans look like drones.
>I doubt most people who even tried sf or fighting games in general even knew how to play it
That's normal. A good game is supposed to be fun even if you have no idea what you're doing.
kek
Can you point out where I said any of that please?
That's arcade stadium 2 tho, the pre order page says that this time the arcades are accurate to how they used to look back when the game was released, Besides they had no problem selling Street Figther 2 and Cyberbots for 2 dollars, user
Fighting games are still fun if you play in a bubble, the fun ends when you fight online and you realize people actually know the ins and out of the game
Yeah because arcades were more common and you went with your friends. The real secret to fighting games getting popular is making them games you play with your friends.
You aren't going to be salty if you lose against your friends, but you'll get a refund if you get into a match with a 20,000 hour no lifer who does a 100 hut combo and perfects you in your fiest online match
I feel like DBZF had the right idea. Coop raids with friends. Focus on that and you'll get more people playing games, just to play with their friends
I'm actually kinda scared now. I really enjoyed the DNF beta but I was planning on getting it for PC
>That's arcade stadium 2 tho, the pre order page says that this time the arcades are accurate to how they used to look back when the game was released
This is literally what the first arcade stadium was. It's just more of that. The pre-order bonus confirms it will be individual roms. This is legitimately embarrassing. Please stop.
>You are just making capcom look like thieves.
That's literally what they are tho
DNF duel is going to be fun but bad, full casual nonsense but worth playing because of that.
Project L is going to be good on the surface but never manage to reconcile the casual and competitive halves of its design and they're going to interfere with each other endlessly.
>tag fighter
>just those 5 seconds of ekko
Unironically will cause more asshurt than the average fighter. It won't change anything but we'll get 100x the rage videos like that rising thunder one.
Even melty that got pc version announced late and you couldnt even preorder it got steam page and shit more than a month before release and KoF was up for preorder with info long time too. Seriously what are kikes from Nexon thinking.
Yeah and this makes this situation even worse.
just looked it up
No one gives a shit about Darkstalkers.
when
You will buy your shit fighting game that dies in a month on PC and you'll like it.
>Steam page is only up on launch date
Why? Is this a huge red flag? The game was fun...
How's this?
It's not. It's retards concern trolling.
japanese companies don't understand steam
expect the netplay to be 80% nonfunctional for the first 48 hours at least
>they are going to make page and give requirements week before release
>no preorders
Day 1 pirate. Hope it doesnt use Amazon shit servers like Strive so it will get online fix.
Most games get those even years before release. Still no requirements too.
It's a convenient point to make if you never intended to buy it.
if capcom were truly bandits they would charge 9.99 for each costume. that's what i'm scared of honestly
>Comboboar executionlet fighter with dirty mixups and no neutral
No thanks, I'll stick to SF6
>Comboboar executionlet fighter with dirty mixups and no neutral
That is what SFV is, why would SF6 be any different?
Yeah but the 90s was a smaller, more hardcore playerbase. Big fighters still sell 6-12 million copies just like the 90s, but they're not the biggest in the era of a larger consumer base who prefer passive walking sims and movie experiences.
