>buy it
>play 3 hours
>refund it cause it's not good

You remember all those small games you glossed over because the preview looked uninteresting? Well, you actually buy and play them.

Sometimes I browse steam by new or by obscure tags. You'd be surprised how many "hidden gems" there are on there.

found any gems yet?

There's a channel on youtube called "Virtual Gaming Library - VGL". He has compilation videos for most consoles - just 2-4 hours long videos of 5-10 second clips of every game on the platform. Thumb through it for the library you're interested in and note down every game that peaks your interest.

I've done this for every library myself

No SMT If and Kyuaku Megami Tensei?

Sorry, I should have clarified it's probably not the best list to share I didn't add some stuff I'd already had or played, or sometimes I didn't add stuff if I thought I'd play it on a different platform etc. I just used it as an example

Makes sense. I was just curious is all.

Dumpster diving on steam

You mean pirate, right? Buying games you have no actual interest in yet seems counterproductive.

Look up a list of every video game ever released and then watch it, picking out things that look fun, interesting or even just well-polished.
Then play them.
Do not depend on E-celebs to inform or recommend to you, because they're liars and will shill you complete garbage.

WE'RE RICH

Yeah, theres actually a lot of Opals in Michigan thanks for the help

it's a bot

Just play mainstream games and shut up.

This is a good strat. It's what I've done.
Just be sure to actually check the games first since quality can vary heavily in multi-platform games. You don't want to find a hidden gem only to accidentally play the inferior version of it.

Probably the indie part doesn't work because I got Forza, Dead Space 2 and Battlefield games.

There won't be a GTA6

There was a gem inside?

pick a console (not pc, no good games)
look thru the library for cool sounding games
look thru developers catalogues on those consoles
play them
beat them
wonder why nobody talks about sub rebellion for the PS2.

So basically play every game in a console?

I used to look at the """"Yea Forums-core"""" games and try those. It's how I found and fell in love with God Hand and Ace Combat. Now this place is impossible to offer anything valuable whatsoever.

Honestly, you would have had to live in the era where you rented shit. I rented tons of random shit and found good stuff doing so.

By playing games

Yeah my grandpa rented a lot of land and always found gems in them, not expensive ones but pretty nonetheless

When's the next ace combat thread. I want to scream about how much I hate 7's mission 17.

You just did so you can go away now

no it's really easy to just play games based on their name and cover art. Look up Seek and Destroy on PS2 and get ready to have your dick blown off.

play popular indie games, and tell people that they are "hidden gems".

Thats the most mainstream list I've ever seen

Attached: 3452351421.gif (280x200, 791.6K)

It's not a hidden gem if it has a Steam page.

it's not a hidden gem if it has a name
it's not a hidden gem if you can download it
it's not a hidden gem if you can play it without the game crashing
YOU DID NOT FIND A HIDDEN GEM

>get ready to have your dick blown off.
I did something wrong because i got my dick blown in

You are right to be conisdered a hidden gem must be unearthen and among its qualities it must be a precious or semiprecious stone, thats like so basic
