His plan doesn't make any sense.
His plan doesn't make any sense
Dead Money is the best DLC of FNV.
Dead money is my favorite too. My main problem every playthrough though is that I have to either choose between having difficulty in the main game or DLCs. Usually by the time I've completed the Honest Hearts, and OWB dead money is too easy
LIKE EVERYTHING WRITTEN BY OBSIDIAN
Just like every faction in the game
by this logic Motor runner must have stringers gifted by NCR
NCR is stretched out in the mojave and is running out of resources. Fiends under motor-runner are organized and have intel/support from Caesar's Legion
Dead Money is easily, genuinely the worst DLC I have ever played in any video game. It was downright terrible. I was facepalming the whole time. How can you enjoy all that backtracking and fighting one bullet sponge enemy type? The concept is just a dumb "hehe I tricked you, now do as I say!" trope like the BoS with their retarded bomb collars. Removes any motivation for the player wanting to do the objective.
The entire villa+Sierra Madre just felt empty and boring as fuck. Follow the mysterious hologram man's orders as you avoid the mysterious poisonous clouds and mysterious Boogeyman people. And all you get from it is 37 gold bars, which is like 378k caps. No cool weapons or armor, just more caps. Wew lad. What's the point when I already have tens of thousands of caps and can buy anything in the wasteland? And what were they even going for, survival horror+stealth? It was executed so poorly. Not scary, not fun, not rewarding. Didn't feel like Fallout at all.
yeap so out of ressource who can destroy the BOS but not save its citizen even after BTFO ceasar legion in the first abttle of hoover.
Yeap send only the worst peasant to fight fot the control of the biggest source of water since we are in a desert shithole without water
The entire DLC didn't make any sense, it was a completely unnecessary tack-on.
Funny how much I absolutely hated it the first few times, it's absolutely the highest quality FNV DLC.
It's annoying the first couple times because of the radios, traps and cloud
His plan makes perfect sense when you ignore all the philosophical bullshit and realize he's fallen into the very trap he hates the Courier for. Ulysses went from place to place having far reaching repercussions without ever once considering them in each DLC and ultimately in the Mojave itself because he backed out of delivering the Chip. All out of a blind hatred of the Courier for destroying what Ulysses saw as a legitimate chance at a decent society ignoring that the NCR had already absorbed bigger and better positioned places and that was before the current war happy president.
Ulysses entire plan is nothing but an elaborate revenge plot that he tries to hide as teaching the Courier a lesson. He is a man who has lost everything and is lashing out but lies to himself and the Courier because he doesn't want to admit his own faults like many humans.
Remember the Holorifle
>BTFO of Ceasars Legion
>Litteraly only won by sacrificing an entire town and blowing it up after the Legion had already routed them from Hoover Dam
The NCR barely won the first battle and it happened solely because Hanlon and the Rangers knew the NCR wouldn't hold so they booby trapped Boulder City and detonated the entire thing. At every turn the NCR is proven to be incompetent at best and malicious at worst which is very telling of just how bad the BoS are if the NCR can pull one up on them.
yeap NCR who assault without preparation a BOS base lost against trobals in a fortify position with advenced technology?
AMERICAN IN 1700 DESTROYED PRIMITIVS IN THE MIDDLE OF MIDWEST WITH ONLY WOODEN FORTS AND BOLT-ACTON RIFLES
lmao
West Coast BoS is cucked and weak with bad leadership
yeap people lsot because are dump
>NCR leadership is dumb?
who cares doomed to win
this is obsidian writing
The Enclave lost to a literal spear chucking tribal and they were technologically superior to the BoS in every way, keep crying faggot. The BoS are a dead faction letting the ghosts of the past tie them down so others can slit their throats.
is the Fallout 3 poo in loo people talk about in this thread
Bos is alive as confirmed by bethesda canon
Todd stopped obsidian to kill the bos like a chad
I KNEEL TODD
>enclave lost
ENCLAVE OWNED VAULT TEK AND FOR YOU THEIR ONLY BASE WAS AN OIL RING?
lmao
Todd is the only hope for fallout
They absolutely are, they refuse to accept the world is moving on past them. That by helping the villages around them after the first Fallout game, that the new society that has formed isn't so restricted in its ideas regarding technology meaning they can actually innovate and advance.
His anger is retarded and dumb
>pay for DLC
>the entire time you are being berated by the plot and being called greedy
>have to do everything lock step with a collar on
>theme is about letting go (of your money) as you are desperately trying to get back to the base game
Dead Money sucked ass in its context and it sucks ass now.
GOOD MORNING SIRS PLEASE REDEEM THE PRINCE OF PERSIA REMASTER NEED TO FEED ENTIRE VILLAIN AND PET MONKEY LANGUR PLEASE SIR
The BoS of the East coast is nothing like the BoS of the West coast. The BoS of the East is a dying sect with people like Maxson stepping in and ending the more retarded traditions that were killing them. That's the entire point being made you fucking spaz, the BoS were killing themselves and only by actually adapting do they survive and even thrive like the chapter under Maxson.
EAST COST BOS REFORMED INTO A REAL STATED
everyone is accpepted in and make deals with locals to secure supply.
Maxson allowed vcivilzians to won not dangerouse technology etc..
MAXSON IS THE NEW PRESIDENT OF AMERCA AND NO ONE CAN STOP HIM
It's about my money retard. I actually paid for that garbage when it came out. I'm trying to play an open world RPG here. If you want to really talk about not paying attention, nothing in this game actually happened. You obviously didn't survive being shot in the head twice and being buried for a week.
>Theme is about letting go of your money
Why do so many people miss the actual point of Dead Money? The entire story is based around a handful of people who are obsessed and showing you what that obsession has got them. The letting go message was never meant for the Courier who is just a catalyst, that message was for the people like Elijah, Domino, Christine, Sinclair, etc who had become consumed by their obsession and put into a hellish life because of it.
gay pajeet
>twice
user getting this upset about something he knows nothing about
life truly is a cycle
When I finish replaying lonesome road I always google what the fuck this dlc is about
Then I go "oh okay I get it"
Then a year later once again I forget what the fuck was Ulysses' point
SIR YOU MUST REDEEM BASED MAXSON THAT IS BOYFRIENDS WITH SYNTH DANSE THAT IS REALLY BASED SIRS THE NEW LGBT BROTHERHOOD EAST COAST THAT WILL RECRUIT YOUNG BOYS AND NOT YUCKY GIRLS YES THAT IS GOOD NOW REDEEM THE AIRSHIP AND NOT THE MINUTEMEN THEY ARE NOT FUTURE ECONOMIC SUPERPOWER LIKE MAXSON AND INDIA
It's easier to just assume he's an unhinged tribal who spouts a bunch of nonsense then blast him off his feet with a .50 cal.
two bullets.
It's okay, I decided to nuke both the NCR and the Legion in the end.
True
Ulysses is a hyper-idealistic pseudo-intellectual who has been driven mad with grief. First, the Legion brutally destroyed his tribe, the Twisted Hairs (the devolved remnants of which we see in Honest Hearts), and then Courier 6 unknowingly destroyed the community he believed to be his true home. This caused him to reconceptualise the very notion of home, nation and belonging, leading to an apocalyptic end-point: "If I can't have a home, the one who stole mine from me cannot either," hence his targeting of whatever faction the player appears to align himself with. The only reason he doesn't nuke everyone and everything is because he doesn't have enough nukes, hence his limited targeting.
This is why talking him down is an option, because the player can convince him that there is still hope out there in the world for him to find belonging again, despite the destruction of the past (both in the Great War and in his personal losses).
Ulysses is a clusterfuck for most players to understand due to his extremely lengthy dialogue and the focus of Lonesome Road seemingly being combat. All you hear on the surface is a gravely-voiced negro spouting about the Bear and the Bull. Beneath that, however, he does actually act with a purpose which is, at least subjectively, logical.
bear and bull
bull and bear
whatever side you choose
I really don't care!
bull and bear
bear and bull
I'll keep repeating this
until your head is full!
What does he eat?
you're moms pussy
>Legion brutally destroyed his tribe, the Twisted Hairs (the devolved remnants of which we see in Honest Hearts)
No, the whitelegs were unrelated to his tribe. They were impressed with his abilities and put their hair in dreads to emulate him, and Ulysses has a moment of clarity where he is disgusted by them and how they were emulating his style without knowing the meaning behind those braids.
I stand corrected. Been years since I played through Lonesome Road.
MREs and Coffee.
Admitting when you're wrong isn't the Yea Forumsirgin way user; you're supposed to double down and call him a jewnigger.
Yao Guai and Brahmin
Dead Money is the real filter of the game.
>muh radios
>muh cloud
>muh limb crippling
like just use your eyes and the automatic rifle lmao
>Pre-war 200 year old rifles
The Gun Runners manufacture new rifles on-site literally 200 yards from Camp McCarran.
>private carovans [sic] defended by drunk girls
Private caravans defended by trained marksman with powerful energy weapons, actually. The whole point of Cass's quest is that all the small merchants like her have been run out of business- by force- and it's Crimson Caravan and the Van Graffs running the show now.
AMERICA WILL RISE AGAIN
FUCK THE BEAR
FUCK THE BULL
THE EAGLE RISES FROM THE ASHES
>No cool weapons or armor, just more caps.
this fucking guy
haven't you been paying attention? the bear IS america (and so is the bull)
.50 cal is too uncivilized. For me, it's 12.7mm.
HH had the best weapons and armor
>HH had the best weapons and armor
correct
Dead Money and Honest Hearts are the only good DLC's
i don't want to walk around with MAMA carved into my forehead
>best line of dialogue is locked behind a useless perk
>They ate them.
so wear a reinforced combat helmet and the rebreather instead
Sneering Imperialist is not useless; it lets you roleplay Reimu.
Does it even have any other unique lines like with Salt Upon Wounds?
he is literally a crazy person his plan isn't supposed to make sense
THE DIVIIIIIDEEEE
>Dead Money is easily, genuinely the worst DLC I have ever played in any video game.
You need to go back and play Operation Anchorage. It's even worse when you remember the initial cost of those DLC was $10 each before people complained.
>Ulysses delivers the chip
>House just has him killed because he's from the 1950s and Ulysses is a nigger
