Why'd they drop the bit about the shield being the coward's choice?

The term Cobarde is directly translated to Coward but is colloquially, in Spanish, used to mean something closer to "someone who takes extreme precautions," and isn't used to be insulting, moreso to describe someone who's extremely careful, potentially to a fault. I assume the context is probably similar in (I think that language is) Mandarin
wherein English uses the term Coward to be derogatory, so the localization team probably didn't want a bunch of kids to immediately associate one of the three primary ability growth paths with being the objectively "bad" or "easy" option (Even though it definitely is the easy-mode choice)
Shieldsisters, we got too cocky...
The japanese translation is correct though
Isn't the third line for all three weapons the negative qualities? I remember the last line for sword is the power of terrible destruction
Cobarde is just a pejorative as coward where I'm from and anywhere else that I'm aware of.
Like the other user said the japanese just says that it's a cowardly shield without any other hidden meanings, not even sure why the spic version is the first one in the OP as if it was the original version or something.
don't care still taking wand and dropping sword
I'll show you who's a fucking coward, I'll kill everyone in this room and then myself
>the coward's choice?
it's not calling the player a coward.
it's calling the shield one
Deja de inventarte gilipolleces, gilipollas
No crean sus mentiras.
This, it is the wielder that shows the shield courage by making it stand up to mighty blows.
What's the best EXP gain option and weapon combination for the most fun gameplay? Don't care about making the game easier.
Hard first part easy later part
Pick wand drop shield.
take wand, drop sword, leave at midnight. You gain extra mp. You will never notice your melee attacks being weaker. Your defense doesnt have to suffer for no reason. Still get leaf bracer in a reasonable amount of time.
yup
Leave at midnight because you gain levels really fucking fast early on regardless and later levels would take forever to hit.
>Not just taking Wand and dropping Shield
A real man isn't afraid of dying in two hits to everything
I take the shield, drop the staff and leave in the dead of night. Always the most fun for me.
I always go with Wand and drop Shield. The lower defense can make things a little more menacing early on which I think makes it more fun.
For XP midnight just gives you the best value long term.
While the HD version gives you XP Zero ai wouldn't recommend doing a Lv1 run since you lose access to many important skills that make combat much smoother and enjoyable
>in Spanish, used to mean something closer to "someone who takes extreme precautions,
You are absolutely wrong, cobarde in spanish means coward same as in english, someone who gets instilled with fear easily.
Someone who takes extreme precautions is "cauto" or "precavido", dont go making up shit, stupid fuck.
Source: español.
Except "terrible" in terms of power is a positive term in the English language, so it doesn't work.
Who the fuck leaves at dawn, speedrunners?
>choose the sword, and you will wield the power of the warrior
>choose the staff, and you will wield the power of the sorcerer
>choose the shield, and you're a pussy
Yes, actually.
Dawn with Staff gives you Ripple Drive faster.
Everyone knows Kingpoop Farts began its life as Reino de los Corazones: Mezcla Final
Stupid choice, since all of them are supposed to have lines showing their maximum potential and also their destructive/negative potential.
It's accurate given Shield's whole deal is giving you support abilities as early as possible and an extra consumable slot
Proud Mode
Choose Staff
Give up Sword
Leave at Night
The most fun way to play Kingdom Hearts.
What's the original third line for Staff? I know Eng has it "A staff of wonder and ruin" while Spanish has it wildly different, going "Un bastón capaz de robarte el alma" or "A staff capable of stealing your soul"
>choose sword drop wand
>leave at midday
god damn it I understood it
>Choose Staff
>Drop Sword
>Leave at Midday
>Play full-caster Sora
>Game is ACTUALLY fun
I picked sword on my first playthrough because duh, but I always felt it was pretty metal that Goofy just went around bashing people's heads in with a shield
>pick sword
>drop shield
if you didn't go full DPS you're a gaynigger
Fucking trans(di)lators.
So basically the lines are supposed to be the good qualities and evil qualities of each weapon but US tones down the DARKNESS
why is Spanish included?
I use to choose staff drop shield but recently found choosing shield first to be very fun
shield gets lucky strike early as hell for synth andgenuinely just has great level abilities
To illustrate that only the english version is toned down
The weird thing is that the KH universe doesn't ever refer to souls otherwise, it's always 'the heart'.
So that English speakers start realizing that their localizations are cucked and full of unnecessary changes and censorship.
What does the sword's description say?
Pretty sure they actually refer to people being made up of hearts, bodies and souls at a few points in the story.
taking wand doesn't give you second chance until you get your character max level. sephiroth isn't that bad but the mysterious man fight becomes retarded
Aren't nobodies the "soul"?
Nobodies are bodies
Heartless are hearts
Souls don't get a cool monster (yet)

>ctrl+f soul

Where does the body go when it separates from the heart? If the soul remains within the body, is it still considered to be deceased?
When the heart returns to the Heartless, the physical form disappears. But that is merely true in this world. Perhaps the body exists in another form in another world.
If that is the case, then it is possible for one to exist in two worlds.
A being that is neither darkness nor light; belonging nowhere; abandoned by its heart; a mere shell of its former self.
The relation between the heart and body is complex. However, I am certain that if your self exists here, then by definition, the other cannot truly "exist."
The other, the one which does not exist, shall be dubbed, "Nobody."
That is Ansem's Report #13 from Kingdom Hearts 1
True, that wouldn't show up in the script proper.
Literally no one uses "Cobarde" in that context, pelotudo de mierda.
This is correct, and it absolutely triggered my tism as a child.
Even as a tween I figured the "shield to repel all" line was referring to shutting things out.
It's a body, but with no identity or sense of self. A "nobody."
It's a heart, but corrupted by darkness and turned into a cruel "heartless" monster.
I have to give them credit for the wordplay.
Nobodies are the body AND the soul. It's said as much in the secret reports.
What about the sword?
What I find strange is that Spanish didn't just go and base itself off the English translation
What about the mind? Isn't that the part of Terra that possessed his armor and became the Lingering Will, since Cum Guardian is his Heartless and Xehanort is in his (No)body?
Lingering Will is also Terra's soul. Basically a Nobody without a body, if you think about it. Whatever the fuck that makes Xemnas, however, I'll never fucking understand. Maybe his soul got split somehow.
You faggots are still talking about this?
A sword made for hurting others.
Post the sword translations, you coy faggot.
That is particularly rare for sure. Maybe the Disney money was enough that they bothered hiring a Japanese -> Spanish translator for once instead of the, assumedly cheaper, English -> Spanish
how do I know your translation is correct?
Well that is typically what they are made for. No complaints here.
Look up the word 'cobarde'.
America is not the center of the world. We are lucky that some companies send the original Japanese to the different translators, or we would depend on the cucked translations mutts get
>specifically takes out 'wounding others'
Yeah, the English version was pure goyspeak.
Swordchads, we are undefeatable!
In terms of pure fun? Dropping shield makes the game much more interesting and hard (although it makes synthesis more of a grind and farming EXP harder, so consider if you want that before dropping it). Sword or Staff is personal preference if you don’t care about min-maxing.
For EXP scaling, starting at Night means that you level up faster in the end/post-game.
kingdom hearts has pretty nice stuff like that in the lore, the problem is all the gigantic pile of numura bullshit nonsense
It isn't
Deja de mentir, máquina.
Yes it is dumb fuck. Terrible destruction = is really good at destroying things.
