Hack director wrote himself into a corner and had to pull something out of his ass at the last minute to keep milking the franchise, somehow unaware of the immense backlash it'd cause

Nah man

Attached: snek.gif (156x267, 61.11K)

so what's the deal with the prologue then?

It was just fiction (as it is in our world), but people can't live with it being fiction in their universe so they went ape shit

4th breaking ending broooo so deep and if don't like it you got filtered duuude

t. unironically filtered

The writer realized how fucking stupid the series had started becoming in DR2 and pulled the plug in the most definitive way possible.

The whole ending is just a rehash of DR2 with a new coat of paint.

And in the end they decide to have hope anyway.

just because something is fictional that doesnt mean it doesnt hold value but that also doesnt mean that you should lock yourself inside fiction, as you need to accept reality

>doesnt mean that you should lock yourself inside fiction, as you need to accept reality
english please

The characters spend two hours going back and forth over every little detail and you need it explaned further?

I didnt get it what was the point of going to the show if your memories where erased?

They wanted to live the lives of "Ultimates" and experience the thrill of the killing game. The participants had boring lives they wanted to opt out of.

>fiction fiction FICTION fiction HOPE DEATH DESPAIR FICTION
>HOPE!
>BUT DESPAIR!
>HOPE HOPE
>HOPE AND DESPAIR
>HOPE BUT DESPAIR
>FUCK HOPE
>BUT HOPE...!
>FUCK HOPE AND DESPAIR!
>But fiction...
>I understand now.
>Yep
>The End
What the FUCK happened??

They were kidnapped

>brainlet who didn't replay the prologue

classical japanese tradition of running your franchise into the ground beyond redemption

Kodaka is such a hack

>a 20 hour shitpost disguised as a VN written by a hack makes no sense
and water is wet

Wasn't the prologue just the Monokubs botching the memory overwrite? The Ultimate Hunt itself was fake. I don't remember them ever establishing the participants are taken against their will.

>to keep milking the franchise
Wasn't it the exact opposite, like burning the whole series to the ground? I mean what did people think that "LETS END DANGANRONPA TOGETHER" means?

The bullshit Tsumugi told you about them being willing participants was a lie. That was not in the prologue.

>somehow unaware of the immense backlash it'd cause
God you people are so fucking stupid

Attached: audience.jpg (1219x1289, 313.99K)

>what are coincidences

Now I finally understand.

Attached: did you know.png (664x520, 177.33K)

so this is... the V3(53rd) masterpiece...

Sounds like your headcanon vs a literal scene of Shuichi going "I'd like to be cast as the Ultimate Detective".

I don't care what anyone says this game is fucking fantastic, first time in years something hooked me up like that, I played this for at least 8 hours everyday until I finished the story. Yes the ending wasn't anything conventional but that's what made this memorable imo.

>the ultimate cosplayer who can literally dress up as anyone
>no dude that was totally the real Shuichi bro

Again, replay the prologue.

Everything was just a TV show. Literally a Netflix Squid Game knockoff. Nothing was actually real.

>the entire ending is about making an ending so unsatisfactory that the audience will not want any more danganronpa
>"pure coincidence"

>cosplox was a lie because... it just was OKAY!?

Is the game show ending really more retarded than a virtual world being hacked and a giantess junko being programmed into it ending, though?

Attached: 1611948847776.jpg (1441x1080, 1.01M)

yes

It has to be a lie though, shuichi is a fictional character after all.

its really common in japan for creative directors to intentionally tank their own series by writing some retarded shit to intentionally enrage all of their fans. Apparently it's easier than quitting since quitting has a lot of negative social implications there. Danganronpa 3's ending is one of the most spiteful and hilariously bad examples I've seen of it happening, and it's even funnier that people bend over backwards to defend it as some "deep" shit.

The most well known example is Toriyama trying to kill off Dragon Ball by writing the high school saga/great saiyaman bullshit and trying to turn the manga into a slice of life until everyone stopped reading, but he ended up pussying out and doing the Buu arc instead, then pussied out again by removing Gohan as the protagonist and making it Goku again.

Attached: great saiyaman.jpg (1400x700, 70.89K)

Ah yes, it was supposed to be shit all along, therefore it's okay that it was shit. They wanted the story to be shit from the very beginning, so it's okay now! Thanks to you, user, I now understand the difference between a bad game, and an unironic bad game.

but the manga saiyaman arc was super short and videl was cute

The funny thing about this is that I know more people who like post-Cell DBZ better than the rest of the series than the other way around. It keeps me up at night.

Do schizos really get to spend all day with cuties like that?

Played only DR1 never touched v3, what the fuck happened?

Best boy.

Let's see what your claims are.
>ending pulled from Kodaka's ass
>so he could keep milking the franchise
>was unaware of the backlash it would cause
Reality
>ending foreshadowed many times throughout the game
>no major game releases since V3
>the ending addresses the expected backlash and in fact makes it a plot point
So you were wrong in literally all three points and yet you manage to think you're in the right somehow.

IT WAS ALL A GAME

Attached: 1628377224899.jpg (474x579, 25.77K)

Even the shitfesta that was the anime doesn't compare to the V3 ending

It spent like 2 hours explaining itself, what more do you want?

Fuck hope all my homies hate hope

The game literally shows you a flashback that shows them saying they want to be on the game.
>but it wasn't in the prologue!
Yeah no shit it doesn't show you it in the prologue, because that would spoil the ending. That's why you don't get to see it until after the twist is revealed.

Attached: 1626635395252.png (1100x1386, 1.54M)

Honestly the ending itself wasn't that much of a problem for me, the problem was how the entire ending came across as the writer's just jerking off about how great their amazing twist is, "FICTION CAN CHANGE THE WORLD!!!" for two hours.

Fuck it. I'll post it
>Plan for Keebo to be the protagonist via Twitch Plays DR, but accidentally make a side character whose leadership is so compelling and engaging that no one will kill anyone
>Forced to kickstart the murder game by doing it yourself and framing her
>Audience revolts when returning fan favorite Rantaro from V2 and the cute new girl die so quickly
>Keebo’s personality is too generic and boring, and Miu coopts him to stare at her literal shit, making the audience even angrier
>Forced to make the detective with zero charisma the new main character
>Second trial goes well, things are mostly on-schedule now, but the audience hates the Monokubs taking over the show after Monokuma gets depressed
>Execs suddenly demand you “revive” Kaede by brainwashing her twin sister and using the Necronomicon, then advertise this twist heavily online
>Fucking Angie gets in the way and insists on Rantaro, try to brainwash her into wanting Kaede, but she just breaks the flashback light
>Serial killer finally gets triggered and kills two more filler characters before the revival, forcing it to be called off. Audience is up in arms and memes the seesaw and complains about your incest fetish being written into the show
>Now Kaede's twin sister is awkwardly in the backlot waiting to be called for the rest of the season
>Kokichi is causing problems, try to kill him using Miu but he gets her and Gonta killed instead
>Gonta and Angie were literally the only characters your character had a connection with, you're now awkwardly hanging onto the rest of the group with nothing to do
>Kokichi then ruins the entire game for his own amusement
>The literal only thing that went as planned is the Kaito/Maki romance, and even then, the disease killed Kaito before his very expensive execution could, pissing off the execs even more
>Forced to improvise a meta twist ending pulled out of your ass to salvage things
>Die knowing that you killed your own favorite show

Attached: 1645406626457.png (611x560, 279.52K)

This isn't true.

you were the danganronpa all along

>>the entire ending is about making an ending so unsatisfactory that the audience will not want any more danganronpa
You need to pay more attention to the story. This was Shuichi's original plan that was supposed to end with all of them choosing to die over continuing the game. But TDR stopped it when they allowed the audience to manually override Keebo's personality so that they could vote for him. At this point the plan changes from boring the audience to trying to win over the audience, which his what the last argument is about. In the end, the audience chooses not to vote either and not only allows the show to end but also spares the lives of Shuichi, Maki and Himiko. Danganronpa ended not because the ending was unsatisfactory, but because the power of fiction changed the world.

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 222.91K)

>Forced to kickstart the murder game by doing it yourself and framing her
Are you retarded? The entire big ultra mega brain hypertwist going into the ending is that Kaede tried to make the kill herself, she just fucked it up so Tsumugi had to finish the job,the murders were going to be started anyway.

>Are you retarded?
It's a pasta, but yes. The guy who wrote it and everyone who reposts it is retarded.

>Danganronpa ended not because the ending was unsatisfactory, but because the power of fiction changed the world.
I didn't know it was possible to survive while breathing nothing but pure copium.

That's what the story says. Sorry if the facts from the game contradicted the fanfiction that you were trying to push. Don't believe me? Feel free to refresh yourself on everything that happens.

>literally not a single troll exists in the DR universe to add one vote just for giggles
hack writing

Even if their feelings might have been fabricated, it didn't mean they weren't real. That's on their end and as for our end it's to accept some things come to end and not encapsule ourselves into fiction.
Escapism is bad, 2d isn't real and your waifu won't fuck you. Get a girlfriend, have sex.

The point is that that "flashback" was bullshit because it doesn't show up if you play it again. The average player wasn't going to remember shit about the prologue late into the game.
The point was for people to go back and realize Tsumugi's lies, retard

i unironically don't get it

>Get a girlfriend, have sex.
No.
>2d isn't real and your waifu won't fuck you.
Not with that attitude.

That's not the point of it at all. The flashback is supposed to be a reveal of new information that the player hasn't seen before, because it's part of the plot twist. Why would you expect the game to spoil the plot twist in the prologue?

It doesn't because it doesn't happen. That flashback was fabricated to trick the player into accepting Tsumugi's lies as truth.
When you back to it and realize it doesn't show up, you understand she lied.

tl;dr

Attached: 1533975167487.jpg (870x700, 227.76K)

Danganronpa girls are built for facehugger despair
rule34.xxx/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=6030249

It did happen, because we see it happen in the flashback. When you go back to it, it doesn't show up because once again the game isn't going to show you something that spoils the end of the game in the beginning of the game.

>People unironically give a shit about the story of a series that is only playable through a meme localization

Attached: tom.jpg (480x362, 16.86K)

>the game is just conveniently hiding shit that happens from the player
