>Halo Infinite flopped
>343 is already working on a new Halo spinoff to be revealed at E3 2023
So much for Infinite's 10 year plan lol
Halo Infinite flopped
Other urls found in this thread:
Microsoft are never going to be able to recreate the hype around Halo 3, I don't know why they keep trying, especially with the same franchise.
10 year plan was never going to happen without PC player support and the fact that KBM is so BTFO by the level of aim assist in Infinite that pro play doesn't even happen on KBM made sure that wasn't going to happen
>halo "Infinite"
>barely lasts a year
heh
Early in Halo Infinite's development (2015 - 2018), a couple of people in 343 studios were working on a prototype for a Halo Starfighter spin-off of that one campaign mission from Halo Reach. But this prototype was internal testing only.
I wonder if they will revisit these concepts and actually make a full game out of it next.
>343 ceo is a corrupt whore
>funnels $500 million into her offshore account
>everyone gets a pay cut
>all these useless retards and whores they hired start leaving because pay grade wasn't good enough and they actually had to do real work
>343 quickly hires some tiny game dev studio to start shitting out content and giving majority of the work to shitskins overseas who work for peanuts
>game is still shit right before release
>Expect it at next year's E3
E3 is dead, this retard doesn't even know that
What do you expect from the Netflix of gaming.
It´s just cheap low quality garbage from here on out (not that MS games weren´t low quality garbage to begin with).
No game period will ever hit that level of hype again, people have too short attention spans these days.
That mission was the worst part of Reach I don't know whose fucking idiot idea it was to think a full game based on it was a good idea but this is 343 we are talking about I guess.
>next year's E3
kek
How long will it take them to finish the spin off if infinite isn’t even done yet
That may be the case for the average zoomer. But MS not generating any hype whatsoever anymore has more to do with how awful the quality of their output is.
>>Halo Infinite flopped
It had 20 million players within the first month, the most of any Halo game.
>the playercount has any meaning when you literally give the game away for a dollar
kek
Well it doesn't help that western devs basically have no talent anymore, especially the writers.
>It had 20 million players within the first month, the most of any Halo game.
>you literally give the game away for a dollar
The multiplayer is free to play.
user it was free to play on both console and PC. Not exactly a huge accomplishment.
Right so the number is even more usless.
>”Leakers”
What do these gigantic faggots want to gain by spamming their vaguely worded conspiracies all the time, and why are there so FUCKING many of them now?
please update player count. you'll have to be lucky to find 5k concurrent players for halo infinite.
Nobody in the video game “journalism” industry is going to talk about it because they seem to have a vested interest in MS and 343 succeeding but they spent $500 million and 7 years of work to make a new 10 year foundation for this series and it flopped in 4 months. 343 has been in charge of Halo longer than Bungie did and they have fucked up every game they released and watched as it has become a b-tier franchise at best. But a woman is in charge of the studio and that is what counts.
>source: twitter post
>the entire thread believes it
Why do people even pretend to still care about Halo
b-believe in the plan guys
This
What the fuck
It's one of the worst and most random ideas i've ever heard for a Halo game
game flopped nonetheless retard
>Wanted to make Halo 5: Guardians 2: Judgement Day
>Wanted to make a SpaceSim
>Wanted to make an Overwatch clone
I swear 343 has to have sony agents sabotaging Halo, at this point incompetence doesn't even come close to describing them
Mark my words MS will pull the plug on Halo the moment they have total control over CoD
We're talking about the guys that killed Halo by chasing trends, the ones that released a game that was broken for 4 years, and a campaign in 2021 with no co-op nor mission select, at this point 343's incompetence is normal
Imagine thinking a company was actually going to just stop making games, therefore, limiting their revenue for a 10 year span of time just to support a game that they gave away for free on steam and gamepass.
What's the Halo Infinite player count on console?
>Another soft reboot
lmao
Literally ALL they had to do was release the game with a good Forge mode, then they could add a constant stream of small assets and features whilst they worked on the larger stuff.
Having a Forge mode would mean they could feature community modes and maps whilst they were working on the bigger stuff.
343 really shot themselves in the foot.
>on the scale of ODST (aka a H3 expansion)
that's talking about an infinite story campaign. we already knew they were going to make those. Palmer and Tanaka's VAs said they were in the game and yet they are nowhere to be seen. there's no way they would make new Infinite branded merch for 2 characters no one cares about for no reason. and there's still Blue Team who have new armor designs, 3D models (see: SoR cover), and merch
>343 is already working
stopped reading right there, 343 outsources everything they don't work
Oh boy a spin-off full of characters no one likes. Surely this won’t bomb
Everyone wants to seem important. They're the "my dad works at Nintendo" kid but all grown up.
Really stupid if true. Infinite is a disaster and all resources should be going towards it, not some spin off. Also, im still in disbelief Microsoft is allowing 343 to continue to handle the halo franchise. Every time they speak or release anything, its a shitshow. I wish I worked there. Job security has to be amazing.
I recall seeing an article a few weeks ago showing that it wasn’t even in the top 10 played Xbox games or something like that
>I wish I worked there. Job security has to be amazing.
I’m pretty sure they lay off everyone after each project is finished.
You fags almost made me fell for the xbox meme
The only thing I can imagine with forge is they didn't work on it because they were thinking their pay model would be a bigger success and likely wanted to charge people for maps instead of letting them create their own. Obviously that was a mistake when they released the game with barely any maps and content even the biggest paypigs dont care about. I say that but it was likely just pure incompetence.
They'll abandon 343 and halo only to bring it back years later and expect people to give a fuck still. Halo should have had the plug pulled a decade ago.
Well they "lay off" contractors but not full time employees, at least afaik.
I'd prefer that over another RTS
>Infinite's 10 year plan
I didn't know this was even a thing they said, seems pretty retarded though
>likely wanted to charge people for maps
The industry as a whole is moving away from that model, heck even Call of Duty or Battlefield don't charge for map-packs anymore. But knowing 343, i wouldn't be surprised.
kek
>spin-off of that one campaign mission from Halo Reach.
I just played reach for the first time and that mission was boring shit
I'm just happy ER is still that high up on Xbox
Just make ODST: Flood Edition
>still no co-op campaign
>still no forge
>even indie teams have a better seasonal treadmill
Phil needs to step in and clean out the rot.
343 has to be a money laundering scheme, there's literally no other explanation at this point
Why doesn't Microsoft let another dev work on the IP? I think 343 has had more than enough chances.
Get a dev team together that actually cares.
That doesn't show the actual player count?
The question is how much will Microsoft even care about Halo anymore considering the amount of FPS titles that they now own. Halo might just go and die now that Microsoft has stuff like Doom and Call of Duty.
This, why try fighting the competition when you now OWN the competition?
>still no co-op campaign
Expect it in late August
>still no forge
Forge open beta will launch in September.
That's true, but Halo for some reason is still the mascot for the Xbox brand, probably because they still don't have many new, popular Ips.
That's probably why they bought so many devs and ips over the last few years. They want to replace this man in the green suit.
>target
Lmao not even a set date, you just know they'll delay it
>mfw 343 fanboys thought that they would get co-op with an Arbiter expansion
MS will never show the real playercounts again after halo reach and 4 bombed in the population game. You can however track Roblox console player counts. So since it’s higher than infinite you can roughly assume infinites console population is something like 30k+
>almost a calendar year for forge BETA
update up yet?
nobody shows actual player count anymore user, only steam. The pic you replied too is a daily or weekly updated list of the most played games on the xbox by region, so in that pic's region Infinite is 15th, in Aus it is currently 12th. Unless a game that shows player counts gets above or close to Infinite gets on the list we can ever approximate how many are player on xbox/pc, I think scenario did happen to Halo 5 though so it's not impossible
Stop trying to force everything in to a Live Service model.
That is literally all that had to do.
>MS will never show the real playercounts again after halo reach and 4 bombed in the population game.
I won't argue Reach had a drop, but it was nowhere near 4s cinderblock in water sinking. Reach at least was consistently active alongside H3 and the competition at the time, once BO2 came out no one cared about H4.
Sea of Thieves - which is half a decade old - literally has more active players currently, despite the fact Halo Infinite is F2P. It flopped.
So how far did they get with the Overwatch-clone prototype? I knew there was something strange about this game
Wait 2 hours 12 minutes
Bungie and 343 are both trash and you shouldn't be playing a game from either company.
