I've been playing Battle Brothers recently. The game is grossly overpriced, but it drips soul. Only thing that really discourages me from playing it is that "earlygame XCOM" feeling when your low level recruits suck ass and everything is a slog until your mercs unlock enough gear and skills to make the gameplay truly engaging and varied.

No borrowed power only works if they put the effort into giving each class/spec new toys or it will be BFA all over again where you feel like playing the same class but just objectively worse/less fun.
of all the ways to do dragons, and more specifically human dragons (worse), this has to be the dumbest shittiest way. it's like they don't want to appeal to a large number of people. they look terrible and are tied to one class, what a disaster.

SL class design is buttery smooth, high skill ceiling, low skill floor, proactive.

The classes play pretty well, but they are very samey. On every class in a certain role you find the same abilities with different text. It's very dull and there's nothing like resistances to mix things up, no hit rating, armor is practically worthless, mana means nothing, etc. In more recent expansions a major problem has been gameplay revolving around borrowed power abilities. BFA and SL were the worst about that with some classes doing 90% of their damage with one single expansion ability. People say no borrowed power this time, but I doubt that. No questline maybe.
i met a lot of people playing for the first time ever in classic but i doubt anybody who isnt hooked for life on that garbage would start retail
