What game does this look like to you? To me, it resembles Recore. That 2016 flop. Or perhaps Malice. That 2004 Xbox flop.

because the other races all have black eyes/hair

white people are the one race that actually has diverse eye and hair color

Because gaming graphics lose soul the better technology gets. Back then you needed good art direction for your game to stand out. Once everything gets too real looking it will all blend together looking like it could be from any other old game. There is a picture that describes what I am getting out so much better than I can I wish I could find it again. Its about art and how the more realistic it gets the worse or more bland the art is. I think the 2D porno guys probably experience something similar and is why they are disgusted by 3DPD. Real just isn't as appealing if you see it all the damn time.

...What game is this supposed to look like?

Ah yes, the famously distinct "pre-woke" vidya protags...

There's something really offensive about that character and its not because she's a stronk kween with that meme hair.

Its just that the shape of her body is just... I dunno. She's been so aggressively de-sexualized it simply offends me on a very human level.

>Steamworld Devs would rather work on this mutt abomination

That photo you're thinking of is grossly misinterpreted by pseuds like yourself. The man in the photo is a film director. Literally all of his work uses real life people. But he takes the real life thing, and he makes it into the abstract through the magic of cinematography.

Somehow you and a billion other anons took his words to mean that games have to be literal cartoons, or else they're bad.

because diversity is a mantra that comes from soulless activist npcs

the majority of these are from post 'we want the wider audience' so I am not sure what this is trying to convey.

Seems like focused on the core demographic "white male" who actually play and buy videogames.

Blacks are what, 15% of americans?

If africans actually made videogames, you'd see an image exactly like this but all black characters, because that's what makes sense, africans would actually make games to target their core demographic: black people who buy games. Would you cry about that?

>She's been so aggressively de-sexualized
This sentence would never leave your lips, if the character was a man. In fact, that thought would never materialize in your brain, if the character were a man.

It's 100% accurate to videogame art directions being awful because of lazy reliance on fidelity tho

>whataboutism
seething sjw little hitler

I see what you mean, looking at "it" I can't even really tell if it's a woman or a man, and whatever the hell it is, it isn't attractive in any way, shape or form.

Not at all. There is room for good art styles with highly detailed graphics. You look at the OP, and you think "ew, they're trying to be realistic". I look at the OP, and think, "This is what Rareware would have made in the 90s and 00s, if consoles could handle it"

Attached: 921744-jfgsplat.jpg (480x600, 290.18K)

No it definitely applies to video games to. In fact many of the realistic games of the older times looked great for the time and still hold up today due to good art directions and tricks used to impress visually. These days since gaming graphics have progressed to become so advanced it makes tons of developers take a lazy approach and you will see missing details that one would expect from a realistic world and so on. RDR2 is an example of the developers taking time to immerse players and make a good looking detailed world. Most developers lack the competence to do such a thing. So I don't blame all modern gaming just most of it. Art direction and actual care for the work from developers does matter regardless of what visual style they go for.

how do you know its not a man? stop assuming genders. looks like a man to me.

There are a lot of shoddy artists out there. Even games that strive for a cartoony look fail to find appeal. For 1 game that has awesome pixel art like here you have 100 pixel art games that look like trash. For every Cuphead, you have 100 puppet animated flash game looking trash. Shooting for high fidelity does not make one more prone to making bad art.

Yes, she has been aggressively de-sexualized.

You can't separate humans from sex, especially women. There is a certain amount of nature destiny we have to respect. We are naturally disgusted when we see weak men. We are naturally disgusted when we see women trying to look unfeminine. The sexes are asymmetrical. They don't have the same standards.

With that said, you can get away with that alien body type if you made her face more alien as well (like in Psychonauts) but they very clearly wanted her to look like a black woman, and its unsettling. Its a terrible looking contrast.

Irrelevant to OP's premise.

>There is room for good art styles with highly detailed graphics
I agree but we don't see many, if any.
Also nice strawman you gigafaggot.

Attached: 1649078619979.jpg (1023x640, 132.49K)

People from Russians to English to Italians are EXACTLY THE SAME

this is your brain on the American education system

>We are naturally disgusted when we see weak men
Hahahaha. Tell that to the Japanese game developers.

>you can get away with that alien body type if you made her face more alien as well
Her face is alien. She has huge bug eyes.
But no, actually, you don't think this, because we have examples of characters with similar body shapes that don't get criticized for be "desexualized"

Attached: MEoB4yW5HxCoUmeSiLW2LA.jpg (2000x1000, 337.91K)

I feel disgusted when I see all women.

>If africans actually made videogames
kek

Nah, cope. Quite relevant. You just don’t like that he raped you with logic.
lol

I didn't make a straw man. I quote:
>I think the 2D porno guys probably experience something similar and is why they are disgusted by 3DPD. Real just isn't as appealing if you see it all the damn time.
So you literally described the feeling as disgust at witnessing realistic graphics. I merely translated that as "ew, they're trying to be realistic".

>I agree but we don't see many
OP's game is one. Ugly face and hair aside, what can you find fault with it? Seriously, use your thumb to cover up the character's face. Now, look at everything else. What is there to find fault in?

>How come the more diverse games get the more they look the same?
Because if you mix all the colors together you get diarrhea brown, not a kaleidoscope. And diarrhea fetishists with their rotten, mentally compromised nonbrains, are literally incapable of producing beauty. if they were, they wouldn't be diarrhea fetishists now would they.

More realistic than the German black female ww2 shocktrooper

The future is an androgynous golem race.

What kind of sublime retard would post such nonsense?

>Game has Russian character
>Audience: ...
>Game has English character
>Audience: ...
>Game has Italian character
>Audience: ...
>Game has black character
>Audience: "You know, I just don't find the game appealing. Don't know why. There's just something about it I can't quite put my finger on"
>Audience 2: "It's the forced diversity! You just know they don't care about the quality of the game. Unlike all of those other mass appeal casual games, THIS one just wants to push an agenda!"

>Tell that to the Japanese game developers.
boys are not men

>posts a cat
animal characters won't trigger that type of response

I'd still say that her face is a bit more realistic then it should be. It should look more like picrel.
If they wanted to stick with that face, they should have had made the body more realistically proportional as well.

Attached: 9fe29d41bc080d0cbb7f204624c4e334.jpg (1024x576, 88.06K)

See, the point is that most of those characters are different because they have, well, different character. You wouldn't mistake Woods for Payne because they are different characters and you'd need to listen a couple of lines to understand that
Strong_whomyn_749? What is she gonna say? That she is a strong and need no help, and every her problem is white privileged dudes fault? All that while single handedly defeating army of men bigger and stronger then she is? The only "diverse" thing about those characters is their skin, not even haircut is unique there

JFG2 never ever

Care to show me a naturally blonde nigger?

its the generic shooting game from wreck it ralph

No logic in mindlessly regurgitating the same tired cope in threads that didn't even ask.

You are embarrassingly generous with your perception of video game character writing.

One with eyes?

This complaint existed before diversity in games became a big thing. Or are you too young to remember brown and bloom with slightly scruffy space marines?

The character doesn't look samey unless you're painting with a stupidly large brush. The background looks samey, but that's a function of preconceptions on what a specific biome's tone and pallet looks like. This is clearly either a spooky alien space ship or a sewer level, which almost always have weird organic growths and either a green or purple theme, and have for decades.

>Cookie cutter characters are ok if they look like me and bad if they don't
got it boss

You are not quoting me, newfag

Attached: 1640390129818.jpg (985x768, 253.26K)

he didn't say blonde. This also doesn't matter because the vast majority of male game protagonists by western devs tend to have black or brown hair, because that is the most common hair color.
But here, have a child from the heart of africa to immediately disprove the stupid claim that "only white people have hair that isn't black"

Attached: c61aa1ae61b483881151da1db5bfe464.jpg (634x520, 82.35K)

Oopsie, wrong about only having dark eyes too

Attached: black-african-people-with-blue-eyes-726-1.jpg (726x277, 56.49K)

>boys are not men
Oh, so boys are allowed to look weak? OK, then why can't women look weak too?
Also, why is it that so many effeminate "boy" characters actually college aged? Cloud Strife is 21. That 9S guy from Nier Automata is a robot. They could have built him to be anything. Why did they settle on him looking like a femboy?

>animal characters won't trigger that type of response
Bullshit, humans anthropomorphize animals to the point that they want to fuck them. Take Rouge the Bat for example. Or Krystal from Star Fox. Or Carmelita from Sly Cooper. People understand when an animal character is supposed to look sexy. Blinx the Time Sweeper is desexualized though. He has a small squarish body. Pure cartoon. He only serves his purpose as a child's mascot.

If you want a more human example, I can server you Mag Launcher and Chain Gun from the game Evolution. Mag is supposedly 17 years old. So not full adult but still at that age where most boys are supposed to be coming into their full height. Yet, he's still a runt. And I'm not sure, but I think Chain is the same age, since they're supposed to be friendly rivals. Chain is a girl though, yet looking at her, she somehow appears like a boy. Very androgynous. And she's somehow even smaller than Mag! The game has *two* fem runts.
Also, there's Genis from Tales of Symphonia. Same age as Lloyd, but clearly not the same build.

>I'd still say that her face is a bit more realistic then it should be
I say it's well into the realm of unrealistic, and that your stipulation that it needs to be more cartoony is unreasonable.

Attached: Evolution - The World of Sacred Device - Manual, pages 22-23 copy.jpg (2183x1080, 2.47M)

user, I really don't care. When you jump into an argument, you took the other user's torch. So as far as I'm concerned, his words are your words. If you didn't want to argue on his behalf, then you shouldn't have said anything.

They'll move the goalposts forever because anyone who complains about the appearance of a a videogame character because of appearance is probably a racist or an unsaveable coomer. Their opinion is right, even if they have to argue a thousand scenarios where being wrong doesn't really count for half-assed reasons.

Are you retarded? Seriously.

oof, drunk. meant
>because of skin color or sex

You really agree with the statement
>only white people don't have black hair or black eyes
Bold assertion, considering the simplest fact check will prove you wrong.

Show me a human with naturally purple, green, or blue hair.

Woah woah woah. Bringing the unrealistic aspects of video games into a discussion about video games is not allowed

>Look at the 1/1000000 blacks who have blue eyes and red hair!
Holy shit you're dim.

Shared libraries the whole industry uses I assume.
Why bother making a new engine, character creator or even a tree mesh if one is available for sale?

>blacks only have one hair/eye color
>Oh no I was wrong, but what i MEANT was that most don't
Doesn't matter, all races other than whites have a range of hair and eye colors. I won the argument.

You didn't win anything, whites are the only race that regularly has unique hair colors that aren't black and brown, it is EXCEEDINGLY rare that any other race will have another hair color other than those two
I will concede my original point was poorly worded

Can't they just create cool beautiful black characters without pushing an agenda? And why are all these games happening in actual Africa or fantasy Africa?
You got exactly what you asked for,
Stop moving the goalpost.

So? Videogame characters are always massive outliers.

That’s a good way to put it, she’s shaped like a literal egg.

This is probably an asian not an African.

And this is a disease called warbarsomething or other. Not actual blue eyes. Pic related have some actual blue eyes and you can find black Africans with colored hair though,

Attached: Blue eyes Ethiopians Egyptians Sudanese Berbers and other Africans.jpg (5120x2880, 3.74M)

Not thanks to race mixing in the modern age! Also, rare and nonexistent are two different things, and the claim that variance is nonexistent is a smoothbrain claim, easily defeated. Ipso facto, ergo sum, I win the argument. Tough luck, homeslice

The Kamehameha SSJ memes are based on Hawaiians and Polynesians like these guys.

Attached: black-with-blond-hairs-island-salomon-les-noirs-aux-cheveux-blonds-26.jpg (800x532, 92.69K)

When white people mutated blue eyes, they call it it evolution.
When black people mutate blue eyes, they call it a disease.

Incredibly bad faith my man
I conceded my original wording that it doesn't exist yet you desperately cling to a "win" (you don't win debate that's not a thing) that you can't even have a conversation

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waardenburg_syndrome
White people can have it too. Some albinos have blue, red, and even purple eyes too fyi.

Can I ask, what's the agenda? Women can be action heroes? Black people exist and have their own lives and culture? I'm really curious, because it seems like the only agenda is "I want my character to be a minority". Or I guess sometimes "non-white, non-male, non-straight people are ok"
