That's so fucking sad man. I've been away from Overwatch for years. I had some hope that it'd get slightly better with Overwatch 2 but it looks like I'm better off just going over to TF2.

Can't believe TF2 has managed to age better than Overwatch, which is younger than it. But I guess it helps that it's devs have got a real "if it a broke don't fix it" type of mentality.

Who was the idiot that made the game super team-based and think that a team of 6 or 5 random people were all going to cooperate and work together as a cohesive unit? TF2 works because it's not 100% focused on teams, CS:GO works because it's not 100% focused on teams, same with COD, Battlefield, etc. It just doesn't make sense.

It kinda worked at first because they designed the game to be easy to play. Anyone could pick whatever and still "help", plus your ult was 90% of the time useful in some way or another. They fucked up when they added a shit ton of DPS characters, made every healer boring, and started balancing the game according to Esports players feedback instead of casual feedback. They literally heard the people who play as a team for money instead of the people who kept the game alive. The final nail was probably the whole 2-2-2 shit plus the queue times.

All of the characters have gotten reworks, some larger than others. Tanks for example are no longer tanks, they're now big slow beefy DPS that while they don't directly protect the team they're still priority targets.

It helped that TF2 never fucked with the core game mechanics (and had a long, thorough time to cook starting back in Quake). Look at how many Overwatch characters no longer play like they originally did because they swapped entire abilities out. Meanwhile the only significant change to the TF2 Engineer, after so many long years, is that he can move his buildings around after deploying them.

You can play the arcade, traditional quick play or mystery heroes, or deathmatch. From time to time I reinstall overwatch to play a few times, at least in those game modes they aren't tryharding and being cunts about it

As someone who actually has access to and plays the beta every day and isn't just some twitch babby: The game is alright. I actually would say it's better than OW1.

mobas work because the entire game is constantly forcing people do to specific things. Overwatch is just push a cart or whatever the fuck.
there's a fucking reason mobas have lanes in their maps, to control the flow of resources. Overwatch doesn't even fucking have resources. Slapping moba hero design into a FPS is just retarded, TF2 worked because Valve understood this. You don't have classes shit out gigantic team killing laser beams in that game. the reason mobas have those abilities is because you are supposed to deal with those things using resource control, items, or drafting specific counters before the game even starts. The overwatch hero rooster is so fucking small that there's very little complexity and everyone just spams le funny monkey.
