Why is Capcom ignoring Resident Evil Zero?

This is the last of the classic numbered Resident Evil games before the series went all action, RE1 got remade, so did 2 and 3 and Capcom is now remaking 4.
But why are they ignoring Zero?
It was a great game, fixed a lot of issues, like not being able to drop items outside the item box and being able to switch between characters. I think it could make an incredible remake, but Capcom seems to have forgotten about it.

They're ignoring all the games that don't have Leon, Jill or Ethan in them. Just move on. They don't care about what fans want they care about what's going to give them the fattest pay day

2 and 3 were iconic but 0 is obscure. It would make for a great remake. An RE1 remake is way more likely.

0 was complete dogshit
rebecca is the worst mainline character

They had to make sure you dropped shit down because that was what “inventory management” was instead of an item box (which they completely got rid of for some reason), and it was shit. Zero was also a paradox if it ever became canon just because of how much of a dumb idea this game was.

>rebecca is the worst mainline character
Literal homosexual detected

Does it need a remake? It got ported with RE1 to modern systems so what's the fucking use of remaking it?

Every resident evil game is filled to the brim with stupid shit. Just because your nostalgia made them sound better doesn't make it true

2 and 3 were ported too.
But it would make for a great remake.
And 4 is on every device, the Ti-84 probably has a version of RE4, yet RE4 is still getting a remake because the fans want it.

train is too narrow for OTS view causing problems such as camera clipping or squashing, inability to see incoming attacks of your character's back, and trouble viewing items.

also 0 goes against sequential ordered remakes. finally, 0 would require an AI partner for single player, which may frustrate players.

Resident Evil 0 was pretty good, but it was a total mess story-wise and I kind of wish it didn’t exist because of it. They did a very poor job making it believably part of the canon leading into the original RE. Billy was cool, though.

Yeah, and Zero did nothing practical. It made inventory management an actual pain in the ass rather than a functional mechanic. If anything, switching between the characters was ANOTHER dumb mechanic they failed to implement right.

Zero did nothing right.

>dropping things and picking them up isn't practical
>clearly the magic box makes more sense
You may actually be retarded.

>practical

You obviously don’t know what the fuck it means. Having a box organize your inventory for you is practical, having to drop your items 10 rooms away and having to go pick them up with BOTH characters is impractical as fuck, and you’re a retard.

>having this very unrealistic magic box in my horror survival game makes more sense than dropping things and picking them up
No I know what it means you're just an incredible retard and a shitter too based on that response

Sorry kid, but Zero and CV are THE biggest clusterfuck embarrassments of the classic titles.
Also, Crapcom has not made a good remake after 2002.

>fixed a lot of issues, like not being able to drop items outside the item box
actually that item drop mechanic created issues in itself. you just had to make a room your hoarder stash and backtrack 20 times to manage your inventory.
i truly must have spent more time doing that, than anything else, seeing as im a completionist and i feel bad leaving items behind.
>It was a great game
as a fan of the series and rebecca enjoyer, i truly had fun overall. but i can't deny it's a crap game with uninspired enemies (take a random animal and make it huge), terrible level design (the train is the only original part. we got the same usual mansion with a central staircase, and a portion of the nest which was added randomly despite making 0 sense since it wasnt there in resident evil 2/outbreak ecc),
added nothing to the story, characters had little synergy while being uninteresting on their own, frustrating partner ai (who either wastes your grenade launcher on a single zombie or takes damage for no reason, not to mention the loading time while swapping), and follows the same formula as all other re games while adding little to nothing to it. we have the usual tyrant, the section with hunters, and so on.
>This is the last of the classic numbered Resident Evil games before the series went all action
the last of the numbered classics, yes, but not the last of the classics. outbreak was the last and it was the most refined of them, with no clunkiness to the mechanics, solved the item box issue much better than re0 did, added melee and unarmed combat, and was generally fluid and smooth, no loading screen to the inventory after picking up an item, or your character taking 2,5 seconds to crouch to it.

in short, if anything really needs a remake, it's outbreak, which with modern internet infrastructure would have no problems being an online game and all.

The last ports of 2 and 3 to modern systems was two generations ago numbnuts

some other thoughts: i can't help but feel like if they released the original previous gen version they were working on it would have been much better, despite having no reason to think so. but it's somewhat extremely aesthetic.

also, you're not completely wrong that a remake would make sense. if you think about it they're trying to please all fans, both new and old. they're making a first person semi-reboot with 7 and 8, giving us the more classical titles with the remakes, so if you think about what's missing it's just the multiplayer mechanic of 5 and 6. which despite being hated by fans, they were always popular both commercially and not. even if a game is crap (which they werent at the end of the day) you're bound to have fun with a buddy if the gameplay is fun.

so, a re0 remake with different areas/enemies, a lore that makes more sense, multiplayer like 5/6, could really be something. it would also be cool if they differentiated the two characters more, giving billy some action gameplay like carlos' shove in re3, and rebecca something related to healing.

>great game
No.
>fixed a lot of issues
It changed some things that added more issues. Only convenience is being able to drop things whenever.
>being able to switch between characters
Once you learn that CPU Billy shoots immediately, while CPU Rebecca shoots whenever controlled Billy shoots, you just end up playing only as Billy to conserve ammo, and only switch to solve puzzles.

>Once you learn that CPU Billy shoots immediately, while CPU Rebecca shoots whenever controlled Billy shoots
jesus christ why did i never notice this.

Cause it's shit.

Code Veronica is Resident Evil 3
Resident Evil 0 is not canon

because most people is too retarded and complain about simple things in the game
on top of mommy not buying them more than a single console and still butthurt about exclusivity

>rebecca is the worst mainline character
She's cute.

they hate me personally. RE0 on the wii in 2009 was my first RE and ever since then i've dreamed of these two coming back someway somehow. but someway somehow they completely fucked up the opportunity the shitty vendetta movie presented

Attached: FQ55F3KXEAIcRPI.jpg (2458x4096, 712.4K)

2 and 3 were ported to PS3 but that was quite a while ago user

I hope Capcom remakes Code Veronica

>Does it need a remake?

RE0 "needs" a remake way more than any other mainline RE game because it's a really shitty game and a remake might actually improve it.

>why is capcom ignoring the wacky monkey mansion game?
Gee
Who knows

The eliminators were a great enemy, people hated them because they needed more skill to beat.

people make fun of the monkeys but for a pharmaceutical company that does "le evil experiments" you'd think monkeys would be literally the most common enemies.
meanwhile hunters have been omnipresent since resident evil 1 and they're fucking FROGS.

They're not ignoring it, it got one of the best remasters of all time. They gave it more respect than REmake.

no, people hated them because watching your character get stunlocked to death is fucking terrible design.

except for the fact they made rebecca anorexic and unironically look like left >

Because Zero doesnt need a remake. On a technical level its on par with RE1's own remake. And frankly, it looks better than RE4.

RE4 itself doesnt really need a remake either, but RE4 is Capcoms cashcow, so gotta milk it dry. Code Veronica is the one game teuly ignored and truly in dire need of a remake because it has NOT stand the test of time

Code Veronica was a really bad RE game, second worst after RE6. The whole game was backtracking and the characters and story were terrible. Everything was also covered in a fog like a Silent Hill game. A remake would need to basically change the entire game, might as well just make it a new game since its not a Canon part of the series, it is a spin off side story,

I do not really like Code Veronica and thats precisely why I say it needs a remake. RE2 and specially 3 were basically reimaginings with quite a lot of changes and CV would really benefit from that kind of treatment of made carefully.

CV is absolutely canon tho, I dont know what you are on about with that. Not being numbered doesnt mean it isnt canon. Just like the Revelations games, it is part of the canon

I didn't even realize it was different holy fuck you people are autistic

>Code Veronica
>not canon

Mate it more of a sequel to RE2 than RE3.

iconic locations, iconic anime villains, iconic bosses, incredible soundtrack, wesker's return after he's thought dead in re1, wesker vs alexia (two different versions based on what port it was).
capcom's experiment at a classic re game with 3d enviroments instead of pre-rendered backgrounds. makes me wonder if it could be modded with new models and textures and look good.

>being able to push zombies off ledges and taking damage just to do that

plus the somewhat uncharacteristic splatter/torture chambers/trap stuff.

Which location was "iconic" ? The generic umbrella prison base? The generic mansion that was a copy of every other RE game mansion (0 included). Iconic villains? A tranny.
It was terrible.

Based umbrella.

>I think it could make an incredible remake
Remake 2 was dogshit made in a outsourced chink sweatshop with nothing but face scanning machines Remake 3 just prooved everyone both pieces of shit were cashgrabs for RE4 babbies and fornite Dabbers

its too hard. the seriew has been on a casual decline since 4. re8 is one of the worse games

Looks a lot better in the remaster

>Which location was "iconic" ?
the castle? the literal antarctic section? which both had a totally different vibe than the other games.
>Iconic villains? A tranny.
you're lying if you don't explicitely remember the dragonfly video and the whole plot twist with alfred crossdressing as his twin sister.
anyway filtered.

Since you mention the hunters. What the fuck do the lickers come from?

I'm playing it for the first time. It's enjoyable but its just soulless like it lacks charm and feels aimless.

that trashy makeup looks completely out of place, they gave her a generic asian-centric look.
pretty much they're just regular zombies who had more time to brew.

98.5% of RE players are filtered by RE0.; Are you one of them?

Attached: resident evil rebecca 001.jpg (368x386, 29.41K)

I really enjoyed the environments in RE0 but not much else.

The enemies were particularly uninteresting.

>TFW just beat this game on my ps4 yesterday for the 1st time

WHAT A GREAT FUCKING GAME!
I beat it on hard mode too and it was a blast.

I can't be the only one who misses the pre rendered back grounds in resident evil.
Shit is comfy as fuck and can't forget the save room theme for max comfy.

I'm surprised they let Billy and Rebecca dissappear from the franchise and never make a come back

>RE1 got remade
RE0 literally came out along side the first REmake using the same engine retard. You would need to wait for the eventual remake of the first REmake to ask if they forgot about RE0

Yeah but a lot of good Resident Evil characters disappear after their games. There is an interesting and really cool theory that Billy was the person who was turned into Nemesis after being captured during his escape in RE0.
If Capcom wasn't lazy, they could've worked that into Resident Evil 3 remake, but then again, Nemesis was an incompetent buffoon in that game, so its for the best.

It technically did get a remake as a part of the Resident Evil Chronicles arcade shooter story

Because it's trash and incorporating it into the lore ruins a lot of other games stories. For God sake, the people making this planned to have the game end with Rebecca's death, despite it being a fucking prequel and Rebecca becoming a prominent character in RE1.

Nemesis doesnt have tattoos on his mutated arms, so its impossible that its him

RE 6 is the only remake where they should just completely rewrite the story. All the others can get more faithful remakes with some minor story tweaks

The item dropping and character switching were cut from RE1 very early in development because they sucked. Apparently the 0 devs didn't get the memo.
