The game tries to sell you on the healer tank dps triangle but your healer is chucked by cool down while at least 2 other units do healing better than her. Just max out agility gems on your squishies and you should be fine

The HD rewrites took some liberties but im glad they kept the original intent of every dialogue

there's no real reason to limit yourself to a specific party composition, since everyone gets pretty much the exact same experience after battle and if you're doing sidequests and shit you should be good on money to buy armor and weapons for everyone. Feel free to experiment with Melia and Reyn if you ever get tired of the same voice lines and remember that you can play as anyone by making them the party leader, not just Shulk
