Wait a minute....

Tutorial case
Japanese game
Plot twist is Sayaka's motives, not the killer's identity

N037???

It was written in Japan and they didn’t realize Americans would see this as a dead giveaway whereas it would stump the average person in Japan
That being said they should’ve adjusted this for international release to make it less obvious

Noel?

i doubt it 'stumped' the average nip

how did Sayaka know how to write his name in English anyway?

Leon.

Leon? Noel? 11037?

What's wrong with 37s?

>The average japanese can't read the alphabet
Is this what they teach the kids in school now?

They're good lotto numbers.

so why did she write LEON instead of レオン or れおん

TODAY IS GONNA BE THE DAY THAT GONNA THROW IT BACK TO YOU

tutorial case

SOOOOOOOOOOO SALLY CANT WAIT

Before playing DR I played all Ace Attorney games and after seeing Sayaka's dying message I was sure that Leon has to be innocent and the real killed tried to frame him, just like it happens in almost every AA game. I was pretty disappointed when Leon ended up being the killer and by the fact that 85% of the class are fucking morons.

I didn’t notice until the detective girl pointed it out so I guess I’m about the brain level the game was made for

>Hifumi is one of the first to point out that the "numbers," aren't actually numbers.

Intrude N037...

Who the fuck is Leo II?

Seeing 11037 always reminds me of Joseph Anderson. His reaction to this was pretty funny.

Japanese game.

Because Leon might’ve noticed, and got rid of it.

It becomes kino when it's important later in DR2

i'm pretty sure the kinds of people who struggle spelling the word "adult" would not easily decipher a backwards spelling of a name they probably have only seen spelled with kana

She was the Ultimate Pop Sensation. Being the absolute best at communicating in a pleasing manner is why she is even at the school to begin with. Considering that the point of the academy was that the students there were better than most experts in their relevant fields (almost to the point where they are treated as lite super powers), it would not be surprising for her to have at least some knowledge in 5+ languages.

Leon, however, is a ball-chucking mongoloid who wants to drop out and become a legitimate music-playing coomer. On the off chance he noticed the "numbers", he'd have probably said something like
>shit man, she really was used goods
before going off and exposing his room temperature IQ by disposing of the evidence in a way only he could.

Was really feeling the ludo here as makoto was too retarded to figure this out. But sayaka is the twist of this case.

>That being said they should’ve adjusted this for international release to make it less obvious
yeah they should have translated those numbers into japanese numbers

I actually didn't know because I didn't pay attention to the the full names, and only knew Leon as Kuwata when playing the fan translation.

The only case i didn't mange to guess was the second one. Was it even possible to figure that out?

English is taught poorly in Japan

What would be the best way to dispose of evidence? If he had just hid it under his bed he would be fine.

You could probably guess by metagaming it but you don't have any hard evidence against the killer until it comes out during the trial. The investigation doesn't give you enough to solve it.

>that DR2 scene
>kino
In cringe level, second only to various other elements of the finale

Same

Tutorial.

What about the time the game expected you to figure out the murderer by remembered he called someone a dude?

Killers pronoun usage is what gives it away iirc but no one is ever going to remember one line that happned long before the gender revel.

you should deduce based on that killer knowing what colour his tracksuit was

You're not expected to solve the case like that, you're supposed to be impressed by Kyoko noticing it because she's so smart and cool and you'd never be able to solve these without her

Makoto was too dumb to be a good protagonist and the game kept treating the player as an idiot

Fuck me that shit was annoying. At least in DR2 it was someone trying to fight Hajime on something or Nagito being a fuckhead. Makoto just gives up and Kyoko is like "Hey, dumbass, remember the thing?"

Not so obvious for Japanese audiences.

Kino

I am defending this

OCTAGON

Japanese uses katakana for loan words so nobody cares about english alphabet

I don't even remember what happened during that trial, it was like a fever dream of "just go with it"

>Obviously Japanese teenagers know all about American English names.

youtu.be/mfI2byQD30k

The first trial is literally a tutorial.
Also it's not JUST about finding out who did it, it's about convincing everyone beyond any reasonable down that he's the killer.

So the game literally gives you the answer at the start to get the "WHODUNIT" out of the way and forces you to do what it actually wants: gather insurmountable evidence and reconstruct the event in close detail piece by piece, as the next trials are super 10 times more convoluted by comparison and all of them have someone that seems the clear "suspect" only for it to be someone else.

Every game would be improved if Boomhauer was in it.

Upside down text is surface level for detective media you'd need to be completly new to it or lobotomized to not try to look at it that way.

>game is about solving mysteries based on clues
>NOOOOO DONT GIVE ME CLUES IM NOT SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO FIGURE IT OUT AAAAAAAAA

And the twist of the first case is not who the killer is but how it actually played out.

I didn't see it until Kyoko pointed it out.

They are still Japanese teenagers. Why would they know about an English name?

Furthermore, is written (and pronounced) Re-On in their language, so why would they know who the fuck Leon is?

You are correct.

You can figure out who the mastermind is as soon as you see the corpse in Chapter 5, she still has the fucking fake red fingernails and boots on, but we have to spend fucking hours talking in circles about it because half the cast is legitimately braindead and will fight you for ten minutes about the stupidest shit in the world
>PROVE KYOKO ISN'T A GHOST

DR2's cast is so much more competent it's not even funny, even 2-3 being the worst case in the series isn't really anyone's fault since only Hajime and Nagito were in a position to immediately figure it out. You have to deal with Akane being even more retarded than anyone in DR1 but she spends most of her time being unfunny instead of trying to argue about anything because she at least knows she's an idiot.

DESPAIR

>You can figure out who the mastermind is as soon as you see the corpse in Chapter 5, she still has the fucking fake red fingernails and boots on
Except that anybody who sees that would just assume that the burnt body was Junko and that the mastermind was Mukuro. You would never think that Junko was still alive unless you were spoiled by seeing a million Junko fanarts before you played the game.

I refuse to defend anything from V3 except Gonta.
My man got fucked.

I have not played v3 yet. Should I?

You can if you want to.

>>PROVE KYOKO ISN'T A GHOST
Do you want to throw stones.

If you've played DR1/2, you might as well. Just don't expect it to be as good.

Again, this is a Japanese game where they would be asking what the English word "octagon" means.

Will the dangan creators new game be good?

Attached: Enigma_Archives_Rain_Code.png (422x237, 200.57K)

>Just don't expect it to be as good.
Because it is far better.

Yes, this picture is causing me despair.

I don't know. Haven't played it yet.

It's bretty good

Attached: 1640722542937.jpg (2272x1704, 1.91M)

Well ill leave this thread to do so before i get spoiled

Good idea.

You know that just this proof isn't enough right? The culprit could be the one that draw this.

You will never be japanese

Eh, the whole Octagon thing was a translation thing since in the Japanese Nagito uses the English 'octagon', which Hajime doesn't get instantly because he is Japanese.

If you want to shit on Hajime, bring up the fact that he needs a Hangman’s Gambit to know what the fuck’s an elevator.

Stump is a strong word but it's certanly on the level of most case one puzzles. First you have to realise they're english letters then you have to remember Kuwata-san's first name, which you probably only will because one gou rudely refers to everyone by first names.

Whats it about?

>english letter

Love when the killer is pretty much caught and there is 0 suspicion on makoto but since you fail the last gambit and he forgets what to say everyone even kyoko and byakuya kills themselves by voting for makoto.
