RTX on.
RTX on
RTX off.
RTX is so subtle but I can't ever go back to without it.
SSAO only it costs 40 frames
RTX just hits different
dont care do more work on DLSS so we can get taxless 4k
RTX is the future and I'm glad devs are experimenting with it, but playing with RTX in 2022 is like playing Crysis with SSAO in 2007. Looks good, but it's going to be another few years before it's even remotely feasible.
My buckets must be shaded properly.
RTX on.
Yes, right now RTX is making them work twice, once they develop the graphics the old fashioned way and then they slap some RTX on top of it. Minecraft RTX is the only game that just goes full blast with RTX and doesn't pull the usual tricks to imitate it when it's off.
RTX off.
that will be $3000 + tip
>lowers monitor brightness
>free rtx
imagine spending money on a gpu for raytracing LOLMAO
I can't even tell, except on the final screen.
>Hurr it's just brightness
RTX on.
ignorance is bliss for you I guess.
"Check it out man! I have RTX!"
"I don't see anyt-"
"Wait for it....OH LOOK! THERE! SEE THE WATER PUDDLE?"
"..... riveting."
literally looks like a photo... how do we recover fellow AMD fags?
>AMD raytracing
>having to be shown rtx because you cant afford it
Get a job zoomie
Not totally fair. the RTX really shines in the rooms with a lot of windows and mirrors. Without RTX it's almost opaque, with RTX there's tons of reflections and looks super cool. Pretty much the only cool thing in that game. What a bore, worse Remedy game after Quantum something shit.
??????????????????????????
This looks like shit. I thought the point of RTX was realistic lightning.
>turn up contrast
>free rtx
keep coping gpufag LMAO
RTXlet poorfag cope.
>made that post
>Actually have RTX and seeing the underwhelming results myself
>6 digit salary
Swing and a miss, child.
>
still need competent devs
what do you mean not fair, RTX is more than just fucking reflections, you know this.
Turn on SSR and take this pic again
Village uses a mix of old and new methods, that shitty lighting is because of a badly place baked in lightsource. RTX can't fix that.
Cope harder broke zoomlet.
Physx 2.0
Gaytracing is already forgotten. Another flopped scam tier meme from hardware companies.
Here with ray tracing inside looks better, outside looks worse.
>turn RTX on
>grainy ass SSR remains active on some surfaces
real fucking shame. if it weren't for the godawful SSR, control would easily be one of the prettiest games
Cope. Even AMD supports it in hardware.
COOOOPE HAHAHA
This is just auto exposure plus dynamic lighting. Games as old as 2015 like DAI can approximate this accurately
What game?
Is it a walking sim?
Oh wait is it The Village?
>Is it a walking sim?
... yes.
hell yeah -45fps for a few superfluous bells and whistles sign me the fuck up
>This is just auto exposure
Yeah, auto exposure adds reflections and brightens up local parts of the screen, sure.
Just for clarity: these games aren't 100% ray traced, right?
It's just a mix of conventional lighting plus ray tracing.
Enjoy your screen-space reflec- ACK
Yes.
I suspect that even games that claim to be full ray traced like Quake 2 RTX and Teardown are also using some mixed way of rendering images because ray tracing requires absurd processing power even for super simple images. Like several seconds for a single frame.
no amount of gaytracing is going to save this game from looking like a mush of colors
god DAMN control is ugly as fuck
Metro Exodus Enhanced is exclusively ray tracing and it performs better than most games with rasterization
HDR (the graphical effect, not the monitor tech) does that
i'm all for switching all lighting to ray tracing when the hardware allows it, but i'm not shitting my pants just from knowing i'm seeing light ray simulation when the same look has been achieved with clever tricks 15+ years ago
resident evil 8
RTX in vidya uses a very low number of rays compared to regular raytraced imagery
thanks, i realized it as soon as i posted
RTX is a fucking scam. lmfao. Maybe try in 5 years.
>HDR (the graphical effect
No, it does not. All it does is adjust the brightness globally, not locally.
Ironically, the monitor tech actually does that because of bloom artifacts from local dimming.
wow, those control shots look like absolute shit with RTX on lmao
