I used to watch speedrunning a few years ago, but only games I was interested in. Nowadays it's all a trannyfest I can't watch on principle. It's unreal how many of those speedrunners have now trooned out.

Speed running games that are built around item placement or puzzles makes sense to me. Stuff like resident evil or metroid. These kinds of games often tell you your completion time and rank, and some give you rewards for doing well. These kinds of games can usually be finished in just a couple hours too. So when you know where to put the item and get the weapon etc, doing a whole play through of the game is like watching an old movie that you like.
Speed running shit like final fantasy is just mental to me. You beat a jrpg in 14 hours instead of 35. Yay. And all those people that do a "speed run" where they glitch up a wall and skip the entire level is just stupid. What is the point?
Watching agdq is just an embarrassment now, but not the fun kind it used to be

i did it for a while, set a couple of goals for a handful of games, then got out
i was top 5 and top 10 for a couple of castlevania games
once i hit those goals, i stopped. To think people do thousands more attempts to shave off 1 or 2 frames is too autistic to me. But, i guess somebody has to be Number 1.

Are there any non-acoustic speedrunners?
Closest one I can think of is ZFG, but I think he just wears it well
