Bloodlines 2 had Mitsoda, Schaffer and Avellone working on it but sank completely due to the team's incompetence

>Bloodlines 2 had Mitsoda, Schaffer and Avellone working on it but sank completely due to the team's incompetence.
>Blood Hunt is actually made by a talented competent team but is another fucking Battle Royale and probably dead in half a year.

Why are you doing this to me Paradox.

doesn't this game install something on your pc, or am I thinking of something else? part of the reason I will never touch it

It uses the same anti-cheat as Elden Ring.

>doesn't this game install something on your pc
Yeah, it installs Bloodhunt.

You're thinking of the Riot games anti-cheat probably. This doesn't have that it uses Easy Anti Cheat and it's full of cheaters.

I hate to admit that I'm loving this game solo, I don't even have a big interest in battle royale games but something about killing niggas in this is so satisfying. I've put 30 hours in over the last 3 days.

I think it's because it plays more like a deathmatch than a BR

>it plays more like a deathmatch than a BR
Yeah 100%, I've only won twice but I usually don't give a shit. I just try kill as many people as I can before I die. It's sad it will probably be dead by the end of the year, I hope not... They should just add some really short single player campaign so it at least has some long term replayability after it dies, the gameplay is legitimately fun.

Agreed. If they have any sense they'll do something more with the hunter aspect too. Asymmetric multiplayer is always fun.

This game took me by suprise. I was actually having fun for the 2 matches I could play. Unfortunately the game runs like dogshit on my PC. I don't want to blame the game optimization, but I could at least make Cyberpunk playable. Here's even in the lowest settings I just get so much lag, it's disgusting.

>If they have any sense they'll do something more with the hunter aspect too. Asymmetric multiplayer is always fun.
Do you mean like adding someone to hunt the vampires? I'm not too familiar with WoD outside Bloodlines, Coteries and Shadows but I think if they added a powerful hunter into the current game mode that would temporarily force the players to work together or backstab each other while fighting him could be interesting. I wouldn't want it as a separate mode though because splitting the player base is dangerous enough already.

I think the trios mode actually sucks in comparison to solo. Which is unusual for a BR.

Works on my machine. I get a solid 140fps at max settings and my PC is a few years old.

>Unfortunately the game runs like dogshit on my PC
Damn, I had no idea it had performance issues. Not a good sign for pretty niche setting in an overcrowded market. It really needs a short single-player campaign because its gonna drop off soon when everyone returns to apex, pubg and fortnite.

>Easy Anti Cheat
why the fuck do companies still use this piece of shit?

>I think the trios mode actually sucks in comparison to solo. Which is unusual for a BR.
This, I played trios and was majorly disappointed. I was talking up how much fun I was having in solo to a mate and then we hopped in trios for the first time and it was pretty bland compared to solo.

Like the sword guy from the trailer.

those of you talking about solo mode - it takes too fucking long to queue for this shit.
and no im not in the fucking NA region, which is probably why.

I'm too much of a boomer to enjoy competitive multiplayer anymore. Shame since the game has some neat ideas. It's fun when you can tell you're playing against some kid though since they're behavior tends to be very predictable and you can easily flank them.

Never saw this, cool trailer. Ahh so those soldiers with the red eyes are hunters? I just assumed it was some sort of military thing because I didn't read any lore. WoD is such a cool setting, I don't get why there are 0 AAA games being made. Unless bloodlines 2 is aaa but i assume its aa.

Only takes a couple seconds to find games here in northern Europe.

>it takes too fucking long to queue for this shit.
>and no im not in the fucking NA region, which is probably why.
Idk what to say man, I'm in AUS and I get games in 2-3 mins. I just alt tab and watch something until I get in. I was actually surprised how quickly I get games here.

Just tell me which classes are good and which suck shit so I don't waste my time on something dumb.

I think they're catholic hunters. The lore also has government supported hunters too but I don't they're a part of this game. The main aspects of the second inquisition are in the US and UK.

Depends what you want to do really. I like playing Siren with a katana so I can dash in, blind them, chop em up and if they shoot back deflect all the bullets. Most retards just keep shooting.

Most are decent except maybe the healer toreador and the second nosferatu.

If you want ezmode play Ventrue enforcer, it's totally busted at the moment. Anyone who says they're good at the game but plays melee enforcer is a tryhard.

>Most are decent except maybe the healer toreador and the second nosferatu.
Yeah, agree with this.

The one thing I think they screwed up majorly so far is the skins and battlepass. I know most of you probably don't give a shit about that stuff but it drives players. I am in COMPLETE fucking shock that the end of season 1s battle pass isn't iconic characters like jeanette, la croix or velvet, strauss etc.. Such a missed opportunity to drag players in and convince them to stay.

I do find it a bit weird how few cosmetic options there are.

>>Bloodlines 2 had Mitsoda, Schaffer and Avellone working on it but sank completely due to the team's incompetence.
Rumour says that Mitsoda got fired because he did something bad, in addition to making an incredibly shit game with writing that couldn't be salvaged.
>Blood Hunt is actually made by a talented competent team but is another fucking Battle Royale and probably dead in half a year.
Not sure why you think it'll be dead. It's a reasonably popular MP game in a massively popular MP genre.

>Rumour says that Mitsoda got fired because he did something bad, in addition to making an incredibly shit game with writing that couldn't be salvaged.

More likely that he got the blame for the state the game was in so they fired him, then they realized the problem was actually the entire studio so they just fired everyone.

>Not sure why you think it'll be dead. It's a reasonably popular MP game in a massively popular MP genre.
It has 20k players on release week which has already dropped to 14-16k after a few days. In another weeks time it will settle around 8-10 and when the streamers stop giving it attention it will drop down to 5 or less. It's pretty obvious its not going to survive if you have observed any fucking trends over the years.

Everyone was at fault for the game falling aparrt, but they fired him and the game's creative director first, and this smelled of something controversial behind the scenes.

Can you believe VTMB2 was supposed to release in March 2020, and it looked like THIS in June 2019?
youtube.com/watch?v=0ssLizHtFK4
The sheer levels of copium they were on.

>It has 20k players on release week which has already dropped to 14-16k after a few days.
Its highest ever peak was 25,643 players, 17 hours ago.
steamdb.info/app/760160/graphs/

>and it looked like THIS in June 2019
The atmosphere and dialogue interactions actually LOOK decent but yeah the combat and gameplay looks atrocious.

>Its highest ever peak was 25,643 players, 17 hours ago.
And it has 14k right now. What's your point?

It's not being streamed by any popular eceleb for it's official release. They only had popular streamers for the closed test

Game looked bad but also like it was very far into development. Cancelling it completely would be a shame.

It needs to release new content really regularly if it's going to survive

Paradox bought in an ex-Ubisoft producer experienced in finishing games. He couldn't save VTMB2. As far as I know, the Hardsuit version has been scrapped for parts. A lot of assets will probably be used, kinda like how Arkham Asylum apparently uses a lot of assets created for Pandemic's The Dark Knight game. But all the characters and the story and so on will be made from scratch, although maybe they'll be "inspired" by what Hardsuit made.

>it plays more like a deathmatch than a BR
Yeah, this would work so much better as a regular ass deathmatch first to 50 kills kind of thing. I love fighting but hate getting kicked out every few mins.

nevermind i tried it just now and i found a game pretty quickly.
it was different on the day of release and when no one seemed to be queuing for it.

shit's fun.

Who do you think has the game right now? I know a lot of rumours went back and forth on here. All of the "rumoured devs" seemed kind of disappointing to me. I guess I wouldn't mind thechineseroom because I actually enjoyed a machine for pigs.

>it was different on the day of release and when no one seemed to be queuing for it.
Did you have early access beforehand? It was long on release because early access nigs got the game hours before it was released for proper download on steam. So it was just like 1k die hards playing.

>Down three enemies with the double barrel shotgun

I think this might be impossible

It probably won't last too long, but for the moment I actually think it's okay. I really like the lives system, keeps the ball rolling in a natural way in solos.

That's how 24 hour cycles work, user. The game's player numbers are going up, not down.

Somebody posted here after doing some sleuthing and came to the conclusion that the devs are either thechineseroom or harebrained schemes (new shadowrun games)

I'll believe it when it's confirmed. Until then I'll assume it's vapourware

enforcer is retardedly OP and needs a nerf asap

double barrel's been good to me, I prefer it to the pump shotgun. Fartbows are the real challenge.

I think The Chinese Room rumours are likely true. It's an interesting choice. I could see it being this new TCR (remember they laid most of their stuff off a while back) with Sumo providing resources.

I have no clue what that means for the design of the game, but TCR are hiring for FPS/RPG/Horror/etc. so I guess their priority is to make a good VTMB2. I would like Paradox to be more open about it, but I suppose they're scared of people pre-judging TCR, and they want the first public reveal to be accompanied by a gameplay trailer validating the decision to change devs.

I still don't buy it. Why would paradox go for ANOTHER dev that doesn't have experience in that genre?

>why would dumbasses do dumb things

Paradox didn't go to anyone. Paradox wanted to cancel the entire dumpster fire, but an outside studio came to them with a pitch. The Chinese Room, or at least the guy who runs it, has considerable clout. He's got like a Doctorate on FPS design. And they've been hiring narrative designers from BioWare and Avalanche and programmers from Rocksteady and so on. They have multiple FPS games in development, it seems. And people speculate one of them is VTMB2. A lot of the pieces line up, and discord rumours went back to mid-2021 saying "I've heard TCR are taking on the project." Paradox apparently want the game done in 2 years, so it'll be a late 2023 or early 2024 release. They spent way too much on Hardsuit's version.

I think I've decided Siren is the best class

Roughly around the time Hardsuit were shitcanned Paradox started posting job ads for the amazing opportunity that they can't talk about publicly.

>The original Bloodlines might be 20 years old when Bloodlines 2 releases

Jesus Christ, is this the longest time between a direct sequel ever?

Attached: 12332132142.jpg (300x300, 28.17K)

I still don't buy it. I'll not believe it until something is directly confirmed.

Icarus was 21 years and streets of rage and battletoads was tied for 26
but if b2 releases, then it would be fourth on that list

Cause it's easy :^)

Fair enough. With luck, we might get a trailer at The Game Awards this year.

I sincerely doubt it.

I wouldn't. It would be a great time to reintroduce the game if they're happy with how it's going with the new team. Especially since this would be another cinematic trailer, getting people used to the changes so far.

If the game is releasing in late 2023, then a re-reveal trailer 12 months before release would make some sense. It will have been in development for about 12-15 months at that point, including rushed pre-prod. Paradox say they're "happy" with progress but they won't fund the game forever. It's going to get pushed to release.

The problem is the bad press it already has. They might as well rename it at this point.

I did, but no, I played it the day after it came out on 27th/28th april, meaning i only started playing when during the weekend

I think the only thing stopping that from happening is the guaranteed sales "Bloodlines 2" will bring, otherwise you're right and they would have renamed it

Great timing for them to push vampire stuff before the new Harry Potter game comes out

Feels great.

the fuck does harry potter have to do with vampires?
