My 360 controller finally died

My 360 controller finally died.
What's the best controller for PC nowadays?

Switch pro controller is pretty comfy.

Ps4 pro with $5 chink paddle attachment

Fucking disgusting. Reevaluate your life.

sony controllers have the most features if you want to play PC games,if you just want to play console ports, most first party controllers are fine.

The Series S/X one is great.

what test program is that?

>connect switch pro controller via bluetooth
>keeps disconnecting and reconnecting
>doesn't automatically reconnect after restarting pc and turning it on
>have to remove from list of bluetooth devices and reconnect to connect it again
>connect ps3 controller
>it just werks
No thanks.

Huh, I've never had a problem with it

Thanks think I'll go with DS4. I prefer the layout more.
How's the dpad? Also which paddles to get?

Dualshock 4 always disconnects with the micro usb and has horrid input lag with a bluetooth adapter. Having to get an Xbox controller delivered to replace it.

DS4.
The xbone contoller doesn't have gyro and the switch controller needs some voodoo magic to even connect.
Don't fall for 3rd party memes, they're all shit.

fix it

The one with 2 buttons. Theres only one type that sells for $5. Dont get the 4 paddle one for $30, it doesnt work with wireless.

>ds4

Thanks for this. I think I'll stop using my 360 wireless controllers. I had thought it would do better than DS4 Bluetooth because it had a propriety wireless protocol.

I became beyond fucking sick of the modern PC controllers failing all the time.

They all have the same brand shitty potentiometers that fail at random no matter which way you go cheap or expensive and you can see how inaccurate they are on calibration here gamepad-tester.com/

Therefore I started going with the cheap ass GC101 which is available through several chink knockoffs but it holds up and has turbo and is comfy enough. I had one RT go out and I wasn't afraid to open it and fix it with a piece of contact wall hanging strip because cheap. If I have enough cheap ones I can cannibalize others for parts I decided. They are not easy to open and I clipped the brackets with wire cutters to make it easier.

There is a new one that just came out Gulikit kingkong2 which has a new patented way to do potentiometers that is supposed to fix the fail problem. Seems to hold up on barely any calibration error that I've seen but you'll pay 70 bucks and have to deal with alibaba or aliwhatever that chink amazon competitor is, I found them shady and didn't complete order. I think you're getting overcharged and waiting months if you go amazon on that one still.

I'd give you some links but last time I tried to help others here I got screamed at by underage tards about affiliate link nonsense.
I wouldn't go PS style since most pc games are xbox oriented and have the button layouts defaulting to those and less to no support for PS layout.

8bitdo pro2 for retro style seems pretty comfy and well made but will still face the general shitty potentiometer problem.

I want to say ds4 OP but Godamn is it annoying having to use ds4windows for certain shit. It just brings down the experience compared to a plug n play like a 3rd party Xbox or an Xbox controller.

It still depends on the bluetooth connectivity of your PC. If you just buy a cheap micro adapter you might have a bad time depending on how far you sit.

Anyway DS4 is my personal favorite. I find it more comfortable than dualsense. You can tell dualsense was designed to make less noise with the sticks/buttons due to the built-in microphone. It feels mushy.

Honestly if you can get it another 360 wired controller is your best bet. They are durable and last for years. Sony controllers are OK but the battery packs are shit.

>Godamn is it annoying having to use ds4windows for certain shit
What do you mean?

>but the battery packs are shit
They're easily replaceable and even upgradable.

I find dpad heavy games frustrating on the 360 and I would like to have gyro/paddles/low latency wireless if possible.

My H670 motherboard has some kind of 802.11ax (WiFi 6E) + Bluetooth + High speed class II chip and external antennas. I also have the m-itx case on my desk. So hopefully it'll work well.

How is using gyro for steering with the DS4?

Is it hard to setup?

This is the cheapest one I see on amazon.

As someone who has over the years used a 360, xbone, DS4 and a bunch of third party controllers, I prefer the DS4 by far
sucks having to use DS4 windows for certain games I know, but I just like the feel of the controller more than any of the xbox ones, never used a Switch pro or a Dualsense though, how do they compare to the DS4 for PC?

Mouse and keyboard you stupid console fag

I used to use Xbox 360 controller for my PC and then I moved to an Xbox One controller. It’s great. Don’t cheap out and get a knock off one like I used to for when I used the 360 one, having a weighty official one is nice and it doesn’t break within two months

Steam recognizes the controller.
But epic games, origin, Ubisoft, and even Microsoft will not recognize the controller so you have to use ds4windows on those. Here's the thing. On Microsoft some games to detect the controller and this causes an issue where you're having double inputs on everything but it doesn't tell you.

And ds4 windows is just annoying to have. If I were you just get this little guy I love. It's called the spectra infinity. It's wired but it works nicely.

As someone who also prefers the sony layout, I've been really liking the 8bitdo pro 2 for xbox. Doesn't have the driver issues of PS controllers but has a good form factor and some nice back buttons. Very good D-pad as well.

Attached: file.png (1500x1500, 922.14K)

Switch Pro is basically the same, but with assymetrical sticks and a significantly worse D-pad. Also, connecting it to a PC is a bit tricky and very YMMV. Never tried to connect Dualsense to a PC but I did give it a try at a PS5 demo and it's basically the same as DS4, but bigger and less comfortable.

>But epic games, origin, Ubisoft, and even Microsoft will not recognize the controller so you have to use ds4windows on those
No big deal then. Only game that would give me issues is kingdom hearts and I can emulate if I have too.

The duke is the eternally awesome controller for anyone who doesn't have tiny babby hands.

You could just use DS4windows for everything and disable steam input. It would even reduce latency by 3ms.

This bad boy has built-in sound effects and you can play Elden Ring with it.

I ended up getting an Xbox 360 wired controller ages ago because I found the dualshock 3 one to be less ideal. Have the tables really flipped and will a dualshock 4 just work on loonigs like my Xbox 360 one does?

Also, another good thing of the DS4 is that it works natively on rpcs3 which means you can go through those gimmicky sixaxis bullshit segments that are mandatory in many PS3 exclusives like Killzone 2 and 3

Attached: 1646726571860.png (1076x934, 114.82K)

There is a kernel driver that Sony maintains. Works great on Linux.

huh? I thought emulating Xinput through a DirectInput device in real time would increase the latency not decrease it

DS4 is great but the dpad is a little mushy.
Also, compatibility can be dodgy and using DS4win sucks because in my case, it installed a ton of controllers in windows before I realized I was picking out of a list of 20+ controllers to find the one that worked. I decided to get a Series X controller and haven't been happier. Best dpad in years and very comfortable controller.

Well enjoy it then user. I like the ds4 it's a nice Dpad and a good all in one.

100% based. The duke was the controller of chads

Maybe he meant Aliexpress?

another 360 controller

what are you, gay?

8bitdo sn30pro wired without the handles

if only the dualshock 4 and dualsense thumbsticks didn't feel like shit

Based, I love that it's big enough for me to comfortably rest my pointer fingers on the bumpers and middle fingers on the triggers. Now all we need is a wireless version, and we're set.

For the PC Kingdom Hearts ports, they do seem to at least support Dualsense without additional shit. Worked for me anyway.

Uhh buy a new one?

I had this wireless but the rubber on the sticks wore off in under 2 years. Pretty good regardless.

i got an xbox series x controller after my ps4 one stopped taking a charge and i wish i had switched to it earlier

I found the face buttons to be too mushy and have too much friction, so I can't slide my fingers between two buttons quiscly. I have to play platformers with the tip of thumb on Square and the fat part of my thumb on X, not a huge difference but certainly less fun.

yeah i just like how light it is

wii u pro controller

The only difference is the stick height. They're using the same part as xbox. You can put xbox sticks on a dualshock easily and you get that loose xbox feeling.
