Guys it really wasn't that bad. Why did we stop caring about it
Indivisible
it was boring
Only good character is shat on and dies
Because it really was that bad. If it was finished I think it would of been great, but it isn't and it obviously shows
The more you play this game the more you notice how shit it is
>Valkyrie Profie combat always sucked
>ruined the original designs for animator laziness and progressive points that Mike Z obviously never got to cash in on when it came time for it
>female MC
The characters have no charm and the combat shows a clear lack of understanding as to what makes turn based combat fun or good. There is no real point in strategizing or on the fly decision because everything falls back on the same juggle set ups. If they wanted to make a 2D DMC they should have just committed to it. Fighting game elements don't work in a turn based systen
Also none of the characters have charm, you can sell a game solely on the size of the protagonist' thighs but that won't make people like it
Update on the case?
>Why did we stop caring about it
Because it was abandoned permanently, what do you think retard?
>Valkyrie Profile combat always sucked
Bad take, I bet you like Etrian Odyssey
It was so bad that my "Yea Forums corruption free" cousin actually ragequit after having enough of the MC's bullshit.
Great character designs IMO.
BUT.
>Shit writing.
>MC is the worst.
>Boring levels.
>City level is the worst thing ever
>Shitty Voice acting
>Too clunky and unfinished.
If only the guy animating and drawing had someone competent to program the game we might have gotten a good game.
I can tell Ahad wants to make a new fighting game out of these monster girls he’s been drawing now.
The game feels like it was made just so they don't sued for being a scam, everything feels so disconnected and rushed, also
>Post yfw DLC backers got fucked
Single player-only games need to have something really special to keep people actively caring about them long after release.
Indivisible wasn't nearly big/popular enough to form waifu cults, which would be it's ONLY chance at long-term appeal.
No, I disagree. It felt very finished and polished, the problem was simply a lack of skill in the creators. It felt like they created the levels and world they wanted to, told the story they wanted to, and presented everything they wanted. It's just that this finished, fully-realised product wasn't very good.
I never finished it. I just remember thinking that they prioritized having as many fun character designs as they could rather than ironing out where they would actually fit them all into the story and cast dynamic.
Most people seem to agree that the enemy soldier turned unwilling ally was an interesting idea, but he's just treated like the nerd that everyone dunks on rather than fleshing out his motivations are genuine vengeful spite between the two parties being forced to work together.
valkyria profile is superior
Because it was a boring piece of garbage & the writing was filled with 2016 burger “culture” war.
Because it was the worst thing a game can be.
Mediocre.
None of the guest characters made it in, right?
You didn't play the game.
>There is no real point in strategizing or on the fly decision because everything falls back on the same juggle set ups.
This. The basic concept for the combat is pretty cool:
>fighting game but it's a party of 4, each member mapped to a face button
But the execution is severely lacking and results in you only having access to a scant few worthwhile combos, so you cycle through a few team comps and keep spamming the same button combos, not reacting to what enemies do or switching up your inputs on-the-fly.
FWIW I liked Ajna, never understood the complaints that she was annoying. I found her thickheadedness enjoyable, at the very least, and her actions kept the plot moving to boot. Far better than passive MCs who have no personality AND no agency.
Daar was also wasted, I agree. On one hand I like that they had the balls to actually kill him off mid-story, but on the other he was one of my favourite members and I was still salty there was no reward for getting his hearts high, despite them starting in the negative.
No u.
It's not that bad, but what it is, is slightly aggravating all the way through in ways that will now never be fixed.
>Post yfw DLC backers got fucked
What happened?
None
It's 100% sold on its art and character designs.
Lab Zero fell apart, Mike Z is the only person left. That's not enough people to complete the DLC, as you may notice
>Kickstarters promises DLC characters from other indie games
>Doesn't happen
>You paid extra? Fuck you
Also there were 3 backer designed characters that cost like 20k to each person who paid for it
Holy shit that's even worse
>mostly the main characters of their respective games (not that familiar with Battle Chasers so that one I’m not sure about)
>and also a literal background character
What's so bad about the city?
And also two characters who were supposed to be in the base game and are still in the intro and on the website but were never added, one of whom Mike Z to this day pats himself on the back for because she’s autism representation even though she effectively doesn’t exist as a character
>literally Miss Fortune but more furry
People really want to escape from it
One of them was a crippled Chinese girl who blows things up and I think the other was a succubus. I can’t remember the third one
>Would of been
Stopped reading right there. Dumbfuck.
>Dumbfuck
Stopped reading there. Dumb fuck.
and that's a good thing
but the octopus girl is the interesting design in that picture
Too bad I doubt he really wants to work with mike again. A game that is to VSAV like Skullgirls is to MVC2 with these new designs could be pretty cool.
porns good if you like gang bangs.
>Why did we stop caring about it
Because the devs did too.
It was a neat idea on paper and I think if they had kept the elements that they cut, maybe it could have been pretty good. But it feels very samey; most of the combat is the exact same thing over and over.
>But turn based RPGs are the same thing over and over
Yes, the bad ones anyways. But this is literally the same thing over and over. Whatever little strategy is removed. Trying to compare it to action rpgs, it falls flat too. I'm always interested in spicing up turn based combat, but I think it just removes too much of what people like about them.
That said, it's far from an awful game. If you turn off your brain, it's fine in a mindless casual type of game.
The only positive about this debacle is that we were spared from another appearance by Reise.
>combat taken from Valkyrie Profile
>no Lenneth
Would she be that expensive?
How many "homages" do you actually think pay respect towards their inspiration.
Lenneth would probably be more expensive than all those characters combined, and that's assuming SE would even consider it
Skullgirls
bat mole woman
I like this one
She definitely has the most interesting concept of the three
They put 20k down for a character that didn't even show up in the game? Jesus...
Because it was "inspired" by Valkyrie Profile except was worse in every possible regard. I just went and played VP again.
>no feet
which one was it?
Never finished it. I LOVE Skullgirls and that fact makes me so, so sad.
Well now Skullgirls is getting new content
Wait why did everyone leave MikeZ?
That makes me happy.
It was worse than bad: it was dull.
He couldn't breathe
>board tries to perform a hostile takeover of the company
>with literally no leverage, grounds or even the ability to pay out basic severance, relying entirely on a mild guilt trip
The sheer retardation of that whole debacle from every side puts a lot of Skullgirls and Indivisible's development into perspective.
