Win11 is trash. Its so bad it turned me into a loonix user

nope

What does Windows 11 even bring to the table besides what I assume is an even more Orwellian experience?

the ability to more aggressively control DRM via TPM2.0 and kill piracy and modding for real.

android emulation so we can finally run azur lane natively!

>emulation
>natively

If by better you mean "worse UI and apps that take more time to launch", then yes, it's better.

It's an OS designed for data collection. Not for consumers. Besides that, the interface is a bit laggy (in microseconds, that is.. it's workable, but I notice it). More of the UI is using webshit scripting (such as the Settings program being made in Proton of all things) but I'm not sure how extensive it is.

Literally windows 10 with LESS features. But it has a shiny paint job so normies will think it’s better

(me)
err Electron*

nope

yes, with 11 you can create windows VMs that share gpu with the host

This. It's so bad it's got me moving my onexayer to endeavorOS

Now that pretty much 99% of all Windows games are now available to play on Linux, I mean...

There's a windows 11 now? I thought that windows 10 was going to be the last one.

They are more or less the same shit now. In fact I feel 11 is actually faster.

MS will try to rectify that. But even in that case, you'd probably be better playing MS stuff on an Xbox. Windows itself is looking bleak. Gabe was pretty smart looking for a way to jump shit years ago. It may finally pay off.

Kancuck cope.

Nothing really. All the advertised features like running Android app's don't even work but the UI is prettier though.

Look, I'm just not going to get it (the windows 11 downgrade) AHAHAHAHAHAHA!

>80% (give or take -40% depending on false gold/plat ratings)
ftfy

>the UI is prettier
Objectively wrong.

why would anyone want to do that?

Win10 just works

If you play valorant and get perma banned your computer locks down and you have to contact Microsoft for it to be unlocked

It doesn't matter how nice a UI looks if it's based on webshit.

Does it matter? You should be using Windows 7.

it took ms over 10 years to finally get developers to make games with directx12 in order to force win8. i will never ever get this faux phone os that does nothing but cuckhold the consumer no matter what gay globalhomo vidya they pay some zoomers to make.

UI is definitely not worse than the abomination that is Window 10's. 11's is prettier and way better organized. I'm running 11 and on a gaming laptop from 2013 and is for sure faster than Win10 in all regards.

Daily reminder Linux is not built for gaming and never will be.

It's the same thing. They just centered the task bar and made the windows rounder.

I've started to notice there's some devices that don't have drivers for W7, I'm gonna get a W10 machine but I hope I don't ever have to upgrade for the next 10 years after that.

everyone knows dont worry. maybe if valve makes their own OS it'll be worth trying out but they'll never bother making one for the mass consumer market.

you need to have hardware that spies on you to use windows 11, that should tell you plenty.

>They think Windows is good

Attached: adaclji.jpg (2560x2560, 2.42M)

I'd agree but you're pornposting so I'm going to disagree and call you a faggot.

Linux is not "built" for anything except what the people want, now that Microsoft hates videogames then in a few decades no one will have any options except something like Linux.

>now that Microsoft hates videogames
Windows 10 is the first time microsoft actually tried supporting gaming specific features lol. (not counting the GFWL shitstorm during the vista or 7 days)

no,hold onto windows 10 until linux is ready for you.
>on an Xbox
not really an upgrade from a windows PC,a downgrade if anything

Fuck off Microsoft shill.
>The Start Menu is objectively worse
>The context menu is objectively worse
>Rounded corners are ugly
>Way too much padding everywhere (because it's an interface made for touchscreens and tabets)
As for whether it's faster or not, just compare how fast the old Notepad app launches compared to the new UWP app.

>UI is prettier though.
It looks like a fucking Mac, I hate it and refuse to upgrade for that reason alone

It can be done by following what Apple/Sony/Nintendo do with BSD (or phones in general). They're barebones UNIX-likes but bypass X entirely and create a new UI framework with sandboxed program wrappers. Linux desktops need something like that. ChromeOS is like that, but Google doesn't care about desktops.

Macs use a robust API in their interface, like Windows 2k-Win7 used to. It's a thousand times better than this shit.

I've used it for a decent amount of time, 2 first weeks were downloading missing drivers, wasting my time in regedit, playing with the settings to make it more win10-like
then it got pretty comfy except for all the missing features from 10, so i just rolled back to 10 and now I hate this one too
I considered going back to 8.1 with classic shell but they're killing support for that soon
god i wish shit worked on linux

Well I didn't mean it in the sense that they actively campaign against gaming like Apple does, but the seed has been planted so that "legacy" things work less and less with each new iteration and that was the one thing that made windows so useful for games, unless they make claims contradicting what I think they are doing with pre-W8 software then the future of anything made before W10 will be either Linux or always keeping an old windows ISO at hand.

>build a shitty tablet OS on top of W7
>no one buys it
>quickly move on to the next product
>build a mediocre desktop OS on top of the shitty tablet OS on top of W7
>have to sneakily force update PCs to make people accept it
>still takes almost the entire primary lifecycle of the OS to surpass W7 installs
>arbitrarily change random things in ways no one asked for purely to have an excuse to call the next service pack a new OS to demand hardware that will enable draconian software control later on
>now have a shitty desktop OS on top of a mediocre desktop OS on top of a shitty tablet OS on top of W7
>is this abomination good?
I don't know man, maybe?

never forget that shit os only overtook w7 installs when ms literally made a deal with the ccp to force chink users to install it. MS basically had to pay the ccp to make win8+ mandatory in china which dramatically boosted install numbers and was then used as a justification to get everyone else on board "because everyone is using it lmao"

>actively campaign against gaming like Apple does
How do they do that? Are you talking about OpenGL? Because that's just practical. They care about efficiency and power consumption (first on their phones and iPads, now on the MacBooks). Vulkan wasn't ready for primetime at that period, so they went with their own api.

Likewise.

Windows 11 is so bad it makes me miss Windows 10

I cant even install windows 11 since my ryzen2400g doesnt support it, so no

they've been like a headless chicken just running about every since the failure of Windows Phone. They had this whole vision of Windows Everywhere, but when it failed, they've been a company just throwing shit at the wall and hoping it sticks. So many failed or halfassed products in the last 10-15 years or so.
I don't enjoy seeing it though. I would've liked a world with MS/Google/Apple in a hard competition, instead of just two of them and watching the third die a slow death.

No. My win 11 install became broken, had to remove the new context menu with registry because it was crashing explorer.

in windows 10, I know where everything is. Everything is a click or 2 away. In 11 everything convenient is hidden behind 30 menus or removed for the sake of simplicity to appeal to normalfags. I downloaded 11 twice and I went back to 10 not an hour later, thought I'd give it a fair chance but half the shit I was regularly using wasn't there, and I can't be assed to Google every single little thing every time I want to use a feature I've been using since 2005. Windows 10 might be an abomination with elements dating back to 95/xp but that's the good thing about it for me. The ui is good enough and I know where everything is. Of course I'll have to learn to use win11 by 2025 but I'll probably just edit the registry to bring back old shit and a lot of shit might be ironed out by then

I always hear about people on 10 or sticking to 7. But what about 8.1? I hear Vanilla W8 is T R A S H but 8.1 fixed it? How good is W8.1 for gaming?

That never made any sense to me. It was practically the same thing, and they were still married to the UWP shit (only slightly better than current webshit).

which one is dying a slow death, nigger? because certainly not apple
i live in an europoor country and iphones are everywhere

Why is it that the second pajeets got involved in Microsoft everything went to shit? I thought India was a tech powerhouse of knowledge with all the best programmers and stuff???

>MS basically had to pay the ccp to make win8+ mandatory in china
were w8 and w10 banned in china or something?

Window XP was the last good Window.

Is the desktop HDR any better? and what about android support.

Linux Mint has been better than both. about to fire up some House of the Dead Remake on Lutris.

I'm not switching until they add back folders to the start menu, that shit is unusable. probably will just en up switching to linux when the time comes that win10 stops being supported though.

video games?

overall it seems much less buggy than 10.

They're not bringing their best. It's all the seething poorfag Indians who scammed their way through courses and have generational rage about the caste system over there. They then come over here and project their caste and colonial trauma on the Western world, gravitate towards leftist power structures, and bullshit and brownnose their way up the ladder in it by being good boys who say all the right things lefties want to hear. Then the more that come in, the easier it is for even worse coders to climb up the ladder, since Indians only actually like each other, only hang around each other, and only promote their kind. Fast forward 20-30 years and they're ruling entire companies and destroying the Western world as we know it.
You thought it was the Jews?

Linux is built to be a kernel for your operating system

i though the whole reason they forced update to 10 was so they wouldn’t have to release new versions

It's more along the lines of "they didn't have to update, so they didn't, because Windows 7 was already good enough"
But then Microsoft paid them off to make 8 and 10 mandatory, and you know the rest.

Read user, read

>the context menu is in a submenu when you right click
????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

it's just reskinned windows 10
no reason for hype or hate

But how are Todd's games on Linux?

>old thing good!
>new thing bad!

The juice is the one who planned thisssssss! 1!! 11!!!

protondb.com/search?q=fallout

yeah, I never meant apple. ms literally shuttered their windows division (windows is now developed by the Azure team). which tells you a lot of the direction the company has turned in just the last 10 years. Windows was everything to MS once.

Attached: 1640696959349.jpg (1920x1920, 155.24K)

As usual that is objectively correct, yes.

Except with features removed and UI's made even more of a mess now with 100% more TPM
