What shmups are you playing bros?
You DO play one of the most highly skilled genres that's pure game right?

>you DO TEMPLATE BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH
shut the fuck up asshole
what shmup should I play after ChoRenSha
Crimzon Clover
Bullet hells are my favorite genre, followed by traditional shmups.
Go play Mars Matrix.
I have, I don't get what people see in it
>b-but muh epic cave tribute video lol
I don't care about e-celebs, I care about substance. MMfags can never explain the game
Andr Dunos 2, also bullet hell are for homosexuals.
>City Connection ports soon
Please don't suck.
The last one I played was Mushihimesama. I managed to 1cc normal mode but thats it.
>city connection
>not sucking
anontachisandono....
Their Cave ports were actually pretty good. They do fuck up other things pretty often though.
There's only 1 shmup worth playing
And that's your favorite one.
The rest are meaningless and filler
For me that game is Muchimuchi pork. Why would I ever play disco feveron, eso Ra de. or solncresta or whatever over my favorite one.
If you collect shmups you are legit insane or rich or both. Yeah let me replay mushihimesama black label once every 3 years yeah. 150 dollars? no problem. So worth it haha! *Sarcasm
I do play them but I avoid Tranmaku games thank you very much.
kek where is this pasta from
Aren't those the same thing? What's the difference between
>shmup
>bullet hell
>danmaku
>STG
And probably like 5 different terms
I got my shmup-collecting out of the way before scalpers ruined the market circa 2020 or whenever those first stimulus checks hit.
Shmup is the overall genre, danmaku/bullet hell is a subgenre of it
>shmup
>STG
The same name for the genre
>bullet hell
>danmaku
They mean the same thing and refer to a specific style of STG
Replayed Gokyou Parodius. A true masterpiece in very sense of the word.
I don't know if I can say I love these games since I haven't played many of them at all, just Touhou eXceed and a couple more indie ones, the other ones I've played that have cute girls in them seem more about dodging fast rather than seeing patterns which is fine of course, but not really fun for me personally
STG is the thing you get if you visit any con bathrooms.
>shmup
Blanket statement for the genre.
>bullet hell
Sub-genre with the concept of curtain patterns and having a very small hitbox
>danmaku
Other word for "bullet hell"
>STG
Just another name for the shooter genre like "shmup" is.
Examples of bullet-hell: DoDonPachi, Touhou, Psyvariar, Giga Wing
Examples of regular shmups: Gradius, R-Type, Thunder Force, Raiden
I only like casual shmups where I get to upgrade my ship and make a lot of shit blow up.
thanks for sharing man
play crimzon clover lol
>Muchimuchi pork
very based
port to anything that's not xbox 360 when
>casual shmups where I get to upgrade my ship
Play Silpheed, Raptor: Call of the Shadows, Forgotten Worlds, and Fuzzical Fighter.
trying to get a clear on blue revolver on hyper mode
I was playing that one where you play as samurai and that was cool
Sengoku Ace?
>Shitty connection
>Lags like hell
whens the fucking sequel
and by fucking sequel i mean a game where i fuck mae
last one I played was this
Trying to decide whether it's worth getting Deathsmiles 1 on steam sale or 1+2 on switch
Boogie Wings was great.
>anything on switch
user lol just lol
2 is okay. Not bad, not great. All depends on whether you want it on-the-go or not.
I'd also highly recommend Dariusburst Chronicle Saviours. Currently less than 18 USD on Steam until May 9th.
>he didn't unlock the secret nsfw no miss no bomb high score parallel only mae wallpapers
CosmoDreamer.
Here's a a link to the devs games and demos. Try them out:
freem.ne.jp
>love darius' aesthetics and musics
>actually play it seriously
>you have to autistically manage powerups and rank otherwise the game just fucks you
taito why
Rank is pretty common in shmups even outside of typical Raizing games. Gradius series, Grind Stormer, and Zero Wing come to mind.
How do I get started in this genre. Someone please recommend something that is challenging but not retarded. Also If it is on steam that is a plus
Vasara collection, just looked it up
crimzon clover
g-darius and darius gaiden
Get into emulation though, tons of awesome games there
CRIMZON CLOVER isnt that bad honestly.
Too many of them and I do not know where to start.
holy shit nigger just PICK ONE THAT LOOKS COOL
i got this on switch a week ago for $2, haven't played it yet
No.
Horizontal: Darius Gaiden, Gradius Gaiden, Deathsmiles, Devil Engine
Vertical: Raiden II, Galactic Attack aka RayForce, DoDonPachi Resurrection, Ikaruga
>challenging but not retarded
just avoid anything by CAVE and you're covered on that front
I was wondering a bit why ZeroRanger had so much appeal outside of the usual STG fans. But as I've been practicing with it to get a 1cc, I think one of it's major strengths became clear to me.
ZeroRanger is incredibly forgiving and encouraging. It throws extends at you like candy, getting bumped by an enemy doesn't destroy you, it constantly talks you up even after a sour run and the continue system makes it clear that failing is just a part of the progress.
It is still a hard game, but it smooths out the failure state so it's not nearly as easy to become frustrated with it.
I recently beat Assault Android Cactus and that game too has a lot of forgiving gameplay mechanics that smooths out failure and makes it bearable for newbies.
>just avoid anything by CAVE and you're covered on that front
Sort of why I recommended Deathsmiles and DDP Resurrection, two of Cave's easiest 1CCs.
shmupg tongues my anus
Akai Katana is pretty easy to 1cc and kicks ass
Do I take the plunge.
yeah its awesome
it's almost too good, its hard to find another shmup like it
You're wasting your money.
Listen not to , it's a steal even at full price. It's revered as one of the best PC shmups for a reason.
It's an excellent game. Definitely worth playing.
. here, I forgot to mention: pirate Devil Engine. The publisher is evil and the dev hasn't seen received a cent for their game. Even the devs say to just pirate it.
Does Batrider have the weird autistic shit Garegga does where you need to study and manipulate the game instead of just playing it?
I like your honesty
You three are a couple of YES men. I need to do more research and see if there are better shmups available
I played the shit out of shmups
Then I finished Mushihimesama Futari BL on God mode (no secret boss obviously because what the fuck) and got burned out so hard I stopped playing them completely
I had fun tho and I loved testing myself
>not self publishing
What a tard
Oh it was a pathetic shitpost
All Yagawa games do.
shmups.wiki
does pocky and rocky count as a shmup
>and see if there are better shmups available
just get a bunch of arcade shmup roms and play them then
>You three are a couple of YES men.
My recommendation would be something like Jamestown or Super Hydorah, those are really beginner friendly without wussing out too much on the difficulty.
dumb fucking rabbit that headset isn't on her ears
Yes.
May as well do this, most of the best shmups out there aren't on Steam.
I hope I won't regret this :0
Just play the game and come to your own conclusions. I personally like the game, but I'me not going to die on a hill for it.
heh gottem
Batrider looks really fun. Is it as good as everyone says it is?
Ö
Nigga shut the fuck up and stop taking my posts so seriously. Get that stick out of your ass.
>yagawashit
I had a lot of fun with it a few years ago when I played the arcade cab at a convention. Great aesthetic, music, and overall gameplay.
Should I get R-Type Final 2 or R-Type Dimensions EX?
>credit fed the game and sucks
opinion discarded
Dimensions EX. Final 2 sucks, unless you're willing to forgive cheap enemy placement & boss patterns even by R-Type standards. It's less about "gitting gud" and more about autism.
I credit-fed my first run and then focused on 1-credit runs. Stood there at the cab for at least an hour since nobody was lined up to play it. Good times.
where do you think we are
You're right, he'd probably love it then.
